Qiao Hongchang looked up and saw his daughter standing at the railing of the second-floor corridor, though he wasn't sure when she had appeared there. "You're awake. Hungry? I'll have the kitchen make you something to eat."
Qiao Leling stood by the railing, her gaze locked in an intense stare with Ji Changqing, who was looking up at her. Her fingers gripping the railing had turned slightly pale from exertion.
She forced herself to look away and turned to Qiao Hongchang. "Alright." With that, she turned and headed back to her room.
"Leling, can we talk?" Ji Changqing called out hurriedly, watching her retreating back.
Qiao Leling halted but did not turn around.
"Talk? What's left to say? I've said everything I needed to. Leave now," Qiao Hongchang urged irritably.
Ji Changqing's gaze never wavered from Qiao Leling's figure. "Leling, let the past stay in the past. Let's start over, together, alright?"
