It was a slow and cruel death mirroring the ethereal agony of his soul. The wound expanded with each second that crawled by, multiplying the searing agony that devoured him inside out. But that wasn't why he delayed the kill.
Death was death, and he wasn't one to postpone it to make others suffer. It was a useless risk that could allow them to turn the tables in an ultimate stand for survival. He couldn't give up on Oberon's energy either, though.
