It took a bit longer for the scouts to track down Sera's unconscious body. Luckily, they never need to worry about monsters attacking her while defenseless.
Monsters had little self-preservation, but they still had an inherent fear of angels. It also helped that Sera laid covered in their gore, amidst an endless sea of corpses.
After taking her back to the Village, Faith diligently cleaned off all the disgusting blood and monster flesh. Then she used a pair of tweezers to clean the fur and other monster parts out of her teeth and nails.
Finally, she put her Goddess under the warm covers and let her sleep in peace. She didn't wake for nearly an entire day, and even then, it wasn't by choice.
Sera's eyes snapped open as she felt her bed shake violently. With quick moves, she jumped to her feet, summoned her armor and a pair of curved, silvery blades.
