Chapter 384 - Chapter 384: Blood Angels and the "Human" Condition

Sanguinius, the primarch of the Blood Angels, immediately dispatched twenty companies of fleet forces to the New Hope Colony at the spatial gateway after learning that his legion would be responsible for integrating Universe 14, also known as the Starship Troopers universe.

This deployment was led by a core force of 30,000 fully mature Astartes, nearly 2 million auxiliary troops, and 6 million logistics personnel, including engineers, pilots, and ship crews.

Their fleet consisted of four Forerunner-built Voyager-class dreadnoughts, six New Era-class carriers, and six Carthage-class carriers. Supplementing these were over 400 vessels, including Kingfisher-class and Courageous-class cruisers, Fidès, Selene, and Paris-class frigates, along with Phoenix-class supply and medical ships.

Such a formidable force was more than sufficient to conquer and integrate the galaxy of Starship Troopers. Neither the Arachnid swarm, the United Citizen Federation, splintered human factions, nor the minor alien civilizations could withstand the "iron cavalry" of the Blood Angels.

Moreover, the Human Empire's logistical capabilities far exceeded anything the local forces could muster. Hex robots, Terminators, and Hunters, paired with Forerunner Sentinels, constituted an "automated construction team" that transformed engineering crews, bolstered by Dwarves and other sub-human species, into veritable "infrastructure demons."

Notably, 80% of the 2 million auxiliary troops under Sanguinius' command were enhanced super-soldiers, equipped with advanced personal gear or elite Mk-IV power armor, having received doses of Inquisitorial serum. The remaining 20% were Sangheili warriors—natural-born combatants commonly referred to as "Elites."

Since integrating into the Empire's governance, the Sangheili had become exceptionally law-abiding and strived to assimilate fully into human society, even going so far as to shed undesirable customs and traditions. In their eyes, the Human Emperor was a true deity.

Elite commanders addressed Samuel Young not as "Your Majesty," like most generals, but as "My Lord." Their unwavering loyalty handed their race's destiny entirely to the Human Emperor and his Empire.

This deep trust was reciprocated. Samuel actively facilitated the Elites' integration into the Imperial military structure, assigning them to legions under various primarchs. The straightforward nature of the Elites—often labeled "blunt to a fault"—made them ideal allies.

In their daily lives, Elites were naïve about social intricacies or simply indifferent to petty disputes. On the battlefield, however, they adeptly utilized terrain for ambushes or strikes. Yet, in moments of heightened emotion, they would abandon cover, charging forward with energy swords for a "man-to-man" melee. Their affinity for close combat meshed well with the Astartes, particularly the Space Wolves.

Few Elites pursued politics, but nearly all bore psychic imprints of loyalty to the Emperor and the Empire, a result of Samuel's earlier subtle psychic influence. While integrating the Halo universe and founding the Empire, Samuel had reinforced this influence, ensuring the Elites became one of humanity's most faithful and reliable allies.

In contrast, the Jiralhanae, or Brutes—violent and often cannibalistic—were deemed unfit for integration into human society, let alone cooperation on the battlefield. As a result, the Empire rejected their allegiance, forcing the remnants of their warlords and pirates to retreat to the Halo galaxy's fringes. The Prophets, architects of the Covenant Empire, faced total eradication under an "all-encompassing manhunt."

The Prophets, a manipulative species with a penchant for exploiting lesser civilizations under the guise of religion, were neither welcomed nor tolerated by the Empire. Despite their dwindling numbers, Samuel harbored no intention of sparing them, knowing that remnants could still pose long-term threats.

At this moment, Sanguinius and his Blood Angels were eagerly preparing their offensive. Reports from Little Strong highlighted the proactive stance of the 1st Company, which had already initiated a preliminary "Extermination Order" in the New Hope system.

Planets within the system teeming with Arachnid swarms but devoid of human activity were targeted. Rather than engaging the endless hordes head-on, the Blood Angels deployed antimatter and strategic hydrogen bombs to cleanse the planetary surfaces. This not only secured minor victories but also eliminated immediate threats to New Hope's surroundings.

Meanwhile, the AI assisting the Blood Angels publicly broadcasted these actions, hacking into the United Citizen Federation's networks to spread information under hashtags like "#WhatIsTheHumanEmpire" and "#TheBloodAngelsLegion." Utilizing superior technology, the AI also exposed widespread corruption within the Federation, including the use of Arachnids to suppress dissent—a revelation that shook Starship Troopers society to its core.

In response, Federation leadership began amassing a fleet to confront the Empire in the New Hope sector. Their hubris blinded them to the Arachnid threat, perceiving the bugs as manageable nuisances compared to the rising menace of the Human Empire. Federation strategists underestimated the Empire, dismissing its fleets and armies as anomalies.

The AI predicted that within half an Earth month, the Federation's expeditionary fleet—over 100 ships strong—would arrive in New Hope's orbit. Sanguinius planned to meet this force head-on with his 1st Company and flagship fleet.

Samuel allowed Sanguinius full autonomy in these operations, trusting the primarch to execute the integration as he saw fit.

Reports also mentioned the infiltration of Federation forces by Leon S. Kennedy, Maggie Shaw, and other elite operatives, who had been embedded within mobile infantry units on Earth. Through meticulous planning, their identities and physical characteristics had been masked using nano-tech enhancements, allowing them to pass unnoticed during medical screenings.

Their assignments placed them within the Federation's fleet, offering a prime opportunity to influence its ranks and exploit the brewing confrontation. As the timeline of Starship Troopers diverged further from its original course, predictions about the Arachnid swarm's next moves became increasingly uncertain.

Some hypothesized the bugs might opportunistically strike during the impending battle between the Federation and the Empire, seeking to capitalize on the chaos. Given the billions of Arachnids annihilated by the Blood Angels, a retaliatory strike seemed inevitable.

As Samuel reviewed these reports, he dismissed the holographic screens for Universe 14. Compared to the Aliens universe, the challenges in Starship Troopers were relatively straightforward. Though the Arachnids' overwhelming numbers posed a logistical challenge, they lacked the adaptive cunning of the Xenomorphs, whose varied forms and strategies required extensive research and preparation.

Finally, Samuel shifted his focus to Universe 16, the Red Alert 2 universe, where Alpharius and Omegon had steadily expanded the Empire's influence with minimal resistance. African, Middle Eastern, European, Asian, and South American territories had already fallen under Imperial control.

Yuri's forces were significantly diminished, and the twins had seized much of his advanced technology while capturing numerous recruits and clones. These prisoners provided ample material for bioweapon research, particularly in improving cloned soldiers using Xenomorph traits.

After briefly reviewing the reports, Samuel dismissed the remaining holographic screens. The Red Alert 2 universe posed no significant concerns, with the twins efficiently managing its integration.

For now, his primary attention remained on the Trench Crusaders universe, particularly the Heaven dimension.
