Back at home, the kitchen and living room were a mess, but the good kind of mess. Sanya stood by the dining table, arranging flowers in the centre while barking quick orders at the staff. Rain was in the kitchen, checking the oven for the second time and stirring a pot on the stove at the same time.
"Is the dessert done?" Sanya called out.
"Almost!" Rain shouted back. "Don't rush perfection."
They had been working fast ever since Aunt Vernice called that morning. No warning. No hint. Just a single call: "I'm marrying Rock today. Prepare a small celebration. I'll drag him if I have to."
And that was that. Sanya had nearly dropped her phone in shock but didn't even get the chance to argue before the call ended. Now, she was scrambling to make everything look beautiful and cozy in just a few hours.
They had helpers, of course, but Rain and Sanya had both decided to personally oversee everything.
"Do you think the meat is enough?" Rain asked, popping her head in from the kitchen.
