Long after Madam Quinn left her, Delilah stood by the window in her hospital room, staring into space and thinking about her conversation with Madam.
She wasn't stupid enough not to know what Madam Quinn meant. She knew Madam Quinn wasn't asking her to leave Hunter alone. She was asking her to make up her mind if she wanted to be with Hunter or not, and to stick by whatever decision she made.
She inhaled deeply, thinking about how she had felt when she thought she was never going to see Hunter again when Mark abducted her.
She loved him. She deeply and totally loved him, and that was one of the reasons she had been trying to push him away. Because love meant to put the other's needs first and to not be selfish.
Hunter was the only son of the Quinn family and that meant he would need to have kids of his own to continue the family line.
"Why are you out of bed," Hunter asked, cutting into her thoughts when he walked into the room and saw her standing by the window.
