The watchtower of Candle Dragon Hall was once used as a fire lookout. With the advent of hot air balloons and telephone installations, it was no longer necessary for anyone to stand atop to feel the wind. Gradually, these watchtowers were dismantled, leaving only the one at Candle Dragon Hall, provided for stargazing by competent people.
Following the stairs to the top, Durin saw Melinda. She was curled up, lying on a soft cushion, with the wind lifting one of her ears while the other was pressed beneath her.
Durin stealthily approached her, lowered his head, and met the gaze of the owner of those crimson eyes.
"You're not asleep, are you?"
"Hearing your footsteps woke me up by itself."
This answer caught Durin somewhat off guard, and in the next moment, he was pulled down onto the wooden floor by the rabbit girl before him.
She greedily sniffed Durin's face: "I need to remember your scent so that if you think you can secretly visit me, I'll know it's you."
