With November came cold, gray weather, icy mountains, frost-covered grounds in the mornings, and a chilled lake, glinting like steel.

"Did you hear?" Nearly Headless Nick, the Gryffindor Ghost, was chatting with another.
"Like I haven't seen Bloody Baron today, tch!" the other ghost replied, feeling down. "The way he was gliding… I knew something was off."
"I thought Gryffindor would win against… Not so sure now…" Sir Nicholas mumbled.
Ron came bursting through the two ghosts.
"Sorry!" Ron shouted over his shoulder as the two Ghosts eyed the 1st year.
Through the changing stairs and long corridors, he burst into the Gryffindor Common Room, almost shouting the password.
Harry and Black were seated in a corner, reading the book Quidditch Through the Ages.
Draco was standing behind them with a twisted frown on his lips. They were all obviously discussing the tricks to take down Slytherin this time.
Ron already felt bad.
"Careful!" Angelina Johnson snapped. Along with Alicia Snippet and Katie Bell, the three Chasers of Gryffindor were having a meeting of their own.
Ron stopped, a tingling sensation running down his spine. "The Rule changed?!"

So, walking and hopping, Ron approached the center of the room and shouted as if the world was ending in the next moment. "We are doomed! Darcie became Slytherin's Seeker! It's Snape, I bet!!"
The three Chasers shot up to their feet, their faces paling.
Black and Harry blankly stared at Ron, disbelieving the words.
Draco's jaw dropped, not knowing the cause behind the weird feeling in his heart.
Should he cheer for Darcie now? Or should he cheer for Gryffindor, his House?!
What about Slytherin?! His father had exclusively told him that he would try his best to change his House back to Slytherin… Or… should he just cheer for Mudblood?!!
Regardless of their reactions, all present in the Gryffindor Common Room were gobsmacked, already losing hope.

Draco fumed and walked off with tiny, big steps, muttering to himself.
Before he left the Common Room, though, suddenly, all of the students lost their footing and slammed into the roof, their faces planting into the ceiling.
"I am going to end the one who cast this Spell!" Angelina shouted.

Johnson made a face as if she still didn't get the obvious trick the boys were talking about.
"What if she doesn't remain in perfect condition throughout the game?" Black asked, chuckling. "What if someone were to exhaust her beyond her stamina, making her incapable of finding the snitch? What if… Slytherin needed to change Seekers mid-game?"
"Whoa!" Katie gasped. "You wouldn't…"
Black bowed at the girls. "Mine would be an honorable sacrifice, my ladies."
"Then, with her gone," Wood added excitedly, "we will have Potter to finish the job. Of course, as per our plan, Black wouldn't be able to continue with the game."
