Just as I was about to stand up from the sofa, I heard a knock on the door.
From where I sat in the guest room of my chamber, I could tell that Eve had finally gone back to her room.
At first, Eve had no intention of leaving me alone in the guest room.
But she changed her mind, realizing how badly I needed some time to reflect alone.
"Who is it?"
Could it be Celine? That thought crossed my mind for a moment.
But I was wrong—once I heard the voice from behind the door, I knew exactly who it was.
"It's me. Can we talk?"
"Eris? Alright. Please wait a moment."
Creak—
As I opened the door to my room, I saw Eris standing there.
Judging by her clothes, she was clearly wearing her nightgown.
I didn't know why she came to see me at this hour. I thought she had gone to sleep already.
But to my surprise, Eris came to see me in the middle of the night without hesitation.
"Come in."
