Charles' concern and confession had left Butler Jen restless—especially since Haines hadn't come home last night, and Allison had already begun noticing her husband's somberness.
Butler Jen could've told Allison everything, but he knew Charles—and even Haines—would rather keep it from her. Charles had always tried to protect his wife from his past, knowing it would only hurt her and affect her in ways he didn't want to imagine. Haines was the same. Butler Jen had been with the family long enough to understand that.
Even so, his concern for Haines wouldn't let him stay idle. The issue was too big to ignore, and he knew he needed to take precautionary steps to prevent the worst from happening.
That was what led him to the front of the Pierson Corporation building.
Butler Jen glanced at the flow of people entering the building. Compared to their crisp, professional attire, his uniform stood out, but he didn't let it bother him as he headed for the entrance.
