Yang Xiao couldn't believe his eyes. He pressed his ear closer to the intercom again, listening for a few seconds to confirm. The crying was clear, wave after wave; the Ghost Baby was nearby.
Yang Xiao looked up, eyeing the metal locker that was two heads taller than him. Suddenly, his gaze flickered and shifted to the dim space above the locker.
Could it be a blind spot? Could they have hidden the baby's corpse up there?
Once he thought of it, he decided to act. To ensure nothing would go wrong, Yang Xiao first turned back, kicked a human head, and then ran back, biting a flashlight in his mouth. Using the open locker door, he quickly climbed onto the metal locker. Sure enough, he found a box on the dust-covered top.
It was a metal box. Once he took it down, Yang Xiao realized it was an aluminum box, an old-fashioned lunch box that had long been obsolete, but larger than he remembered.
