Taven tried to pull his knife back but Alex closed his fingers and locked against the handguard of the blade, not letting it leave his palm. Alex stared confused and in awe. A child did all of this?
Taven growled, "You survived... How? Doesnt matter. You are going to die, none the less! You think my family would ever- EVER allow a creature like you into our home? The fact that you cannot keep your eyes from glowing shows just how much of a monster you are. You may look like us, but you are nothing but a beast with elven ears." Taven swung and punched Alex's arm but it did not even phase Alex. Taven was a kid. He was way too weak for combat.
Alex had an expression of pure defeat. A child wanted his demise. A child was going to risk the whole kingdom of his land just to kill Alex. Alex slowly started to reach over to Taven, "W...why?"
The other guard walked in and cuffed the young Taven in enchanted shackles that also silenced him so he couldn't fight by revealing the princess's secrets. The princess voice was saddened as she spoke, "Taven Thelvon, you are under arrest for your crime against Darnussus. Velta, please escort the prisoner to the dungeon to await punishment. After that, please release Miss Serenity and bring her home."
Her actions were so swift it was almost frustrating. Alex wanted to hear what Taven had to say and why. What on earth deemed his actions and why was he okay in wanting to kill a family member? What did he see in that letter? What caused him to act so swiftly?
Leila pulled the knife from Alex's hand and wrapped her hands around his and chanted a healing spell that closed and healed his wound. She looked down to the ground and created a magical crystal bubble around the arrow and letter. "I'm sure this barely scratches the surface."
Alex heard Leilania speak to the other guard who was escorted the child away. He winced lightly when she pulled knife out as his expression remained stunned until she spoke. His eyes glared at her. It was the first time she saw his anger directly towards her. "Not what I need to hear. Are you going to kill that child?" He spoke without a soul, as he seemed to fade his emotions out.
She looked to him shocked, "Of course not! We need to get him away from his family though. We cannot escalate the situation, and so we can read this over without the chance someone else here may feel the way this letter wants them to," She spoke the last part a bit more quietly as she silently gestured to family starting to get antsy as she teleported the crystal ball she had made with the arrow and letter inside into her room back at the castle.
Alex seemed frozen in this moment of shock. He never expected his enemy to be a child. It almost felt ironic to him. Leila noticed this and gave a moment to think before she reached to Alex and held him by the helmet and spoke softly, "This lesson was given to me by my father.. As much as we care about everyone, there is always an enemy wishing the worst for us. They may be someone we never met or someone we never expected... But we never back down. We never falter and never waver. We keep fighting. As long as our goal is just, we keep moving."
With that, Queen Leilania went out to calm the family stating that the investigation was ongoing and that Taven would be returned unharmed once this matter was dealt with. The family seemed rather hectic and panicked.
He watched as the one thing he was needing to see, was taken away by a crystal ball form. He snarled at her before he realized he should not be angry. She is simply keeping her kingdom safe from tyranny and fear. Alex huffed lightly as he gave a frustrated sigh, "I see.. fine, but we need to see what that letter holds. Us alone. Nobody else can read it. This facade is pointless. We know who tried to kill me now. The moment he's in the kingdom's custody, we can reveal the truth to your kingdom. No more half-truths and no how-you-want-them-to-see-it kind of speech. Just the truth."
Alex said as he held her shoulder and gave a soft smile, "We caught the threat of your kingdom. Now I have to catch the threat of MY kingdom," he admitted showing no signs of relief or celebration. His heart trembled at the thought of his own family wanting to kill him. A young boy no less.
She held his hand for a moment, showing him she cared and understood, "We will deal with this immediately… Just breathe. We can't deal with this in the home of another," She walked out with him and bowed before the family and spoke kindly to them as they all were a mess of panic and hatred towards Leila, "I promise we will deal with this as quickly as possible. Please have faith that we will return your family safe and sound. I promise you will hear from us soon. And for your own safety we will have guards posted outside for you," She bowed again and walked out with Alex and back to the tree of the land and relaxed as they entered the privacy of the tree.
Alexandru gave her a soft grin as he walked alongside her through her nearly rioting kingdom. The people feel confused and scared. Seeing her walk around outside her castle within the tree, she almost seemed aimless in their eyes. Alex studied them. Some of them noticed Alex's red glowing eyes within his dim armor helmet. Alex averted their gaze the moment he noticed one or two eyes stare back in realization.
She rubbed her temples silently. "I apologize if I overstepped, but I had to get the evidence out of the home, you may go to my quarters and study it. I need a bath… My skin feels dirty from all these lies."
Alex followed Leila to the throne room. He rubbed her back as he then kissed her forehead, "We have worked so hard so far. We never expected it to get this deep. It's ok to relax now. Though, I personally would not expect any political support coming from... my family... ever again. Not unless we can somehow convince their second youngest that I'm not evil."
Leila smiled softly as she removed his helmet and handed it to a solider and stretched, "That can be easily fixed with a spell. It was something I worked on tirelessly after the war. It was to ease those who are corrupted of their blind anger. The boy only knows hearsay, he's young and he has been influenced by dark forces, reverting his way of thinking back to a normal state will be simple," She was obviously being extremely hopeful and trying to keep him in a good spirits but she could tell it was not helping Alex much. She gave a groan, "Ugh but I need to relax, will you be joining me or... Do you need to be alone?"
