Chapter 680 - 679. The True History!!!

"Wolverine… Logan…"

Blink's eyes also fell on James. It was hard to believe that such a terrifying chain of events could all trace back to the old man before her — that everything had started with him.

(I know it's hard to accept, but that's the truth. This universe began with Wolverine… and it will end with Wolverine's death.)

The ant bowed slightly, antennae drooping, as if sighing in mourning. There was a weight in its tone — sadness, even regret.

(In 1832, James Howlett was born to an aristocratic family in Canada. He was the second son of Elizabeth Howlett… but biologically, he was the illegitimate child of Elizabeth and the family gardener, Thomas Logan.)

(James was raised to believe John Howlett was his father, never suspecting the truth — until one day, Thomas Logan broke into their home and shot John dead. The trauma triggered James's X-Gene for the first time — bone claws extended from his hands, and in a blind rage, he killed his real father.)

(1839 — the year Wolverine first unsheathed his claws.)

(After that, Logan began to flee. He wandered through eastern Canada and into British Columbia, eventually ending up as a mercenary in a private military outfit.)

(The X-Men never spoke of the Avengers because external forces were already rewriting history. These alterations weren't limited to our timeline — the Ancient One observed that even adjacent universes in the multiverse were caught in the flux.)

(The year Logan first used his claws changed. It wasn't 1839 anymore… it became 1857.)

(No… wait.)

(It was changed again — to 1860. But this time, it wasn't Thomas Logan who died. When John Howlett discovered the affair between his wife and the gardener, it was he who lashed out — killing both Elizabeth and Thomas in a fit of rage. James, shattered by the loss, awakened his mutation. Bone claws tore from his fingers… and he killed the man who raised him.)

(After that, James didn't blend into human society. He didn't become a soldier… not yet. He fled into the wild, joined a wolf pack, and lived like a beast across the frozen plains.)

(History shifted again.)

(Logan's real father carried the bloodline of Arakko — a rare, ancient strain of mutant DNA, different from any other mutation on Earth. That altered Wolverine's very existence at its foundation.)

(And then… it changed again.)

(October, 1881 — Wolverine, James Howlett, sat by his grandfather Mr. Howlett's bedside, keeping him company in his final moments.)

(That same month, James left… and never returned.)

(In 1892, somehow, Mr. Howlett was still alive.)

(A year later, Mr. Howlett fell seriously ill. He begged James's childhood friend to find his grandson, hoping to see him one last time — even if he wasn't truly his blood relative.)

(That same month, Wolverine accidentally killed the woman he had loved since childhood, Rose, during a scuffle with Dog. After that, he left his homeland for good and never looked back.)

(It's hard to imagine one person's existence could shape the fate of an entire universe. When I first heard it from the Ancient One, I didn't believe it either. How could all of this center around Logan? But I was curious — why was Wolverine the axis of this reality?)

(Later, as I drifted deeper into the Quantum Realm and glimpsed those 'future' trajectories… I began to realize there was something far more complex at play. Some unknown entities were using unique forces to distort Wolverine's timeline — they were rewriting him.)

(I don't know what they want, but it seems like they're trying to redefine Logan — and redefine the world.)

(The Ancient One was the first to detect this. And I have to admit, he truly was the greatest sorcerer this world has ever known — bar none.)

(After realizing what those beings were doing, the Ancient One searched relentlessly for the legendary Time Stone, hoping to reverse the damage. He believed that fixing the past was the key to saving the future.)

(On the night my lab exploded, it was he who used the Time Stone to protect me — and sent me into the Quantum Realm. With the Avengers erased from existence, this world's timeline was warped yet again.)

(Without the Super Soldier Program, Steve Rogers never became a hero. As a result, the Red Skull never emerged either. And without Captain America, most of S.H.I.E.L.D.'s founders and senior agents died during World War II.)

(In a world without superheroes, tensions between humanity and mutants reached a breaking point. Genetic experimentation led to unprecedented oppression — everyone wanted to seize the power of the mutant genome.)

(History in this universe was rewritten… and that ripple spread to neighboring parallel worlds as well. One by one, countless universes lost their Avengers. In the end, only the X-Men and the mutants remained.)

(But all actions have consequences — and defiling history is no exception.)

The ant slowly lifted its tiny head.

(It took me a long time to figure out a way to reconnect with the real world. But my voice… it was too faint — so faint that even a newborn wouldn't be able to hear my cry. I began to wonder if the threads of history were already set in stone… if this world would forget my name forever.)

(Just when I had given up all hope… I saw them — the ants. These creatures could hear me. Not only that, but they could also respond to my neural frequencies and carry out complex instructions. That reignited my hope.)

"So you possessed an ant?" Blink asked, trying to piece it all together.

(Yes. Through a unique method, I quantum-entangled myself with an ant. In this state, I can perceive the real world with clarity — and directly experience the changes brought about by this rewritten history.)

The voice continued to echo from the device mounted on the ant's back.

(I guided these ants to continue my research into the Quantum Realm and the mysterious particles that triggered my transformation. Based on what I saw in my dreams, I named those particles after myself — Pym Particles.)

(I've been tracking Wolverine's movements all this time. This all began with him… and it has to end with him. If we want to reset the course of history, it must be Logan himself who takes the first step.)

(Those unknown forces reshaped this universe — but the universe isn't just sitting back. It's fighting back, like a system hardwired for survival. I can feel it reaching out… calling to heroes from other worlds for help.)

"The will of the universe… reaching out to heroes from other worlds… Wait a second!"

Blink suddenly froze as a realization struck her. She pointed to her own face in disbelief.

"You mean… the reason why I ended up in this world — why Polaris and I were brought here — is because this universe is calling to us for help!?"

(Exactly!)

The ant nodded emphatically.

(I know how impossible this all sounds, but it's the only explanation that fits everything that's been happening. This universe tore open its own barriers — created dimensional rifts — and pulled people from other realities into itself, hoping you could stand against what's coming.)

"Wait, then what about those out-of-control mutants?" Blink asked, thinking back to the footage she'd seen earlier — the chaos in Manhattan, the wild mutant mobs, and that monstrous, oversized Sentinel mecha.

"Don't tell me that giant machine in Manhattan was also summoned by this universe to save itself. Because if anything, it looked more like a weapon of mass destruction."

(Of course not.)

Hank Pym's voice turned low, almost grim.

(Those unknown entities — the ones warping reality — they noticed something was off. They realized this universe was resisting, reaching for help. So, they summoned a counterforce. A being far more powerful than anything I've ever known. I haven't seen it with my own eyes, but I can feel it… this being doesn't even need to act. Its existence alone is enough to reshape the laws of reality.)

(But the being seems aware. It hasn't made itself known. It's hiding… even the ones who summoned it don't know where it is.)

(The mutants and machines you saw in Manhattan — they were just diversions. Sent by those same forces to throw you off… or perhaps even to draw that being out from hiding.)

Blink's jaw fell slightly open.

She was starting to piece it together. If she was right… then Alex — the mysterious man who'd suddenly appeared in their world, the one who carried an aura that twisted probability — might very well be the one Hank was talking about.

But even thinking it felt too surreal.

A part of her wanted to tell Hank Pym everything. That she might know who the universe was waiting for. But her instincts — honed through a lifetime of running and hiding — screamed at her to stay cautious.

Even though this ant, this version of Hank Pym, had shared so much with her… she wasn't ready to trust him completely.

And more than that — if those reality-warping entities really existed, and they could rewrite history itself…

Then was she already under their gaze?
