Thinking about it, Syd grew curious. "I wonder—does my current energy absorption ability count as a pseudo-Omega-level, or is it already Omega-level? Between me and the Black King, who's stronger now?"
At the same time, he was also curious about the younger versions of Professor X and Magneto.
With that, he decided to go check things out—not just with his consciousness, but in person.
The next second, Syd activated a combination of spatial shift and portal magic.
A golden spatial gate appeared before him. As he stepped through it, his figure vanished instantly.
Beyond Earth.
Eternity and the others, who were patiently waiting for their youngest brother, fell silent as they stared at the strange move he had just pulled.
Wasn't he supposed to meet with them? Where did he vanish to all of a sudden?
Fortunately, streaks of divine light began to shimmer in front of them, and an indescribable abstract conceptual form slowly emerged, which eased their curiosity for the time being.
While controlling his abstract divine form in that realm, Syd's attention turned toward the X-Men prequel universe.
There, his godly body appeared high above Earth, in the cloud layer tens of thousands of meters up, observing below with curiosity.
But as he observed the Earth's surface, satellites quickly picked up his presence.
The American authorities were stunned by the sight of a glowing figure floating in the clouds, gazing down at them.
"Who is this guy?"
"Is he a mutant?"
Unease spread through them.
Soon, the incident was reported to the top brass of the United States and garnered immediate attention.
Above the clouds.
Syd had only been observing for a short while before three fighter jets were dispatched and came flying his way.
Without a word, the jets opened fire.
Multiple small missiles streaked through the sky, heading straight for him.
Hearing the commotion, Syd glanced at the incoming missiles. He was about to erase them outright—but then paused.
He suddenly remembered he hadn't tested his energy absorption ability in actual combat yet. Curiosity sparked.
So, he simply let them come.
Moments later, thunderous explosions rang out as his figure was engulfed in fire.
Inside the cockpits, the pilots radioed back excitedly:
"Target hit! Target down!"
But just as they made their reports, they all froze.
The explosions were rapidly shrinking in size.
Looking closely, they witnessed a terrifying sight—this white-clad figure extended his right hand, drawing all the explosive energy into it.
In just a few seconds, the energy of all the missiles was gone. The man remained untouched, completely unharmed.
"Monster…"
That was the only word that flashed through the pilots' minds, fear written all over their faces.
And it wasn't just them—the U.S. high command and military officers watching were equally dumbfounded.
"This mutant can fly—and absorb energy too?"
They felt fear rising—and a killing intent. They wanted this threat eliminated.
Immediately, they issued an order to the fighter pilots: eliminate him at all costs.
Though the pilots were afraid, they steeled themselves to obey.
But just as they made that decision, ready to die for their country, Syd glanced their way.
In the next instant, three golden beams of light descended from the sky, piercing the jets in an instant.
BOOM!
Explosions erupted.
The three fighter jets became nothing more than fireworks above the clouds. As for the pilots' dreams of "dying for their country," that was simply laughable.
Even if this hadn't been his abstract divine body, even with just his physical god body, those jets wouldn't have been able to scratch him—even if he just stood there doing nothing.
Ignoring the explosions behind him, Syd floated leisurely toward the Black King's location, planning to observe his energy absorption ability and see if there was anything worth studying.
"Maybe… the energy absorption X-gene in the Black King's body could help further perfect my own ability?"
Syd pondered this.
If so, the gains from this trip would be tremendous.
After all, energy absorption determined the upper limit of energy point accumulation—and if that could be improved, then the progress of unlocking Godhood would skyrocket!
Syd felt a wave of anticipation.
While admiring the scenery, he drifted slowly through American airspace. His carefree attitude and relaxed pace were like a taunt to the American upper echelon.
Arrogant!
A mutant who dared to ignore the authority of the United States?
Who did this guy think he was?
They were the number one country in the world—how dare a mutant act so blatantly?
Drifting slowly, as if sightseeing, without a trace of fear?
The higher-ups scoffed coldly, deciding to teach this mutant a harsh lesson.
In the next moment, nearby military bases sprang into action.
More fighter jets and missiles were launched toward the flying Syd.
BOOM! BOOM! BOOM!
Thunderous roars echoed across the sky.
Wherever Syd's gaze landed, golden beams shot out, vaporizing the incoming jets and missiles one by one.
Throughout the entire process, he remained untouched.
U.S. High Command.
A middle-aged white man sneered. "I don't believe he can use his mutant power forever. He'll burn out eventually!"
His words drew immediate agreement.
"He's just showing off."
"He thinks having mutant powers makes him untouchable?"
"That mutant is too full of himself. Let's see how long he lasts."
The U.S. officials sneered with disdain.
These days, who still believed having mutant powers made one invincible?
To defy the U.S.? Even the strongest mutants never dared pull such stunts.
They figured this guy had probably just awakened his powers and didn't know the rules yet.
As they watched with mocking grins, waiting to see him fall, the battle's chaos grew increasingly obvious to the world.
The noise was overwhelming—jets, missiles, explosions—hard to ignore.
Even ordinary citizens could hear the blasts.
Before long, American news networks began reporting on the event.
Countless civilians and mutants alike learned that a mutant was facing off against the U.S. military in open sky combat.
