"Do you need help?" Nexus's voice was calm, almost soothing.
Alex slowly opened his eyes, realizing he was back in his bedroom. The familiar surroundings were a stark contrast to the chaos he had just been in. He turned to see Nexus standing nearby, but now, instead of the figure he once despised, Alex saw someone different—someone with grey hair and eyes that shimmered like the vastness of the universe.
"Are you... Nexus?" Alex asked, still trying to process the shift in his perception.
"I am," Nexus replied, a hint of surprise in his tone. "Don't you remember?"
"I do," Alex said, rubbing his temples. "But I never imagined someone I hated would look like that. Aren't you supposed to look like the version of me I despise? The one I couldn't stand?"
Nexus raised an eyebrow, his glowing eyes narrowing slightly. "Oh? Have you hated someone lately?"
"No... well, except for Liebbe. But you're not her..." Alex trailed off, frowning as he tried to make sense of everything.
