"Are there any left?" Lumi asked softly, her voice barely above a whisper.
"Maybe," Yunus replied after a moment, his tone thoughtful. "If they are, they're either in hiding or living far away from human civilization. After everything that happened, they'd have no reason to trust anyone."
"Even the elven kingdoms don't want much to do with humans, you know," Alex added, glancing up at Lumi perched on his shoulder.
"Ohhhh, I see," Lumi said, nodding with an exaggerated sense of understanding.
After a long trek, the trio finally arrived at a clearing filled with flocks of medium-sized birds. They fluttered about, their feathers shimmering in shades of brown and gray as they pecked at the ground. Alex scanned the area with a slight frown.
"This isn't the exact bird I'm looking for," Alex muttered, disappointment evident in his tone.
Yunus shrugged, a small smirk playing on his lips. "You didn't exactly specify which bird, Alex. Can't blame me for leading us here."
