Riko tried to sit up again, the movement slower this time, his wince more controlled. He leaned back against the bed, letting out a small sigh as he processed her words. "350 gold coins...?" His voice was quiet, almost disbelieving.
Luce nodded, her expression softening as the tension in the room eased slightly. "Yeah, and I've already used part of it to pay for your treatment. The rest... it's enough to finally cover Mom's healing costs."
Riko's eyes widened, his breath catching for a moment. "You mean... we can actually pay for her treatment now?" His voice trembled slightly, a mix of relief and disbelief.
Luce nodded again, her lips curling into a small, reassuring smile. "Yes, Dad. We can finally get her the care she needs."
Riko lay back against the pillow, his eyes fixed on the ceiling as if trying to hold back the emotions threatening to overwhelm him. After a long pause, he smiled softly. "...Looks like your old man's luck hasn't run out just yet. Thank you, Luce."
