On the other side, Xia Wanwan had a rare early return home today, the first in the past few days. Xi Muchen had looked quite resentful this morning—it must be because his birthday was the following day, and so Xia Wanwan decided it would be better to head back earlier today.
However, there were quite a few visitors at home today. Not only did Elder Xu and Bai Lan come, but Shangguan Junyuan also made an appearance.
Xia Wanwan was somewhat surprised, but compared to her surprise, the usually composed Shangguan Junyuan had a trace of nervousness flickering faintly across his face.
As Xia Wanwan returned home, Xi Muchen happened to be coming downstairs. He hadn't expected her to return so early today since she had been coming home quite late these past few days.
