But instead, he plunged the dagger deep into his own heart. Deep crimson blood could be seen trail down his clothes however there was no look of discomfort on his face as his playful smirk persisted.
"Even in you were to cut off my head or stab my heart, all of your efforts would amount to nothing." He plunged it out and to her surprise, the hole that was in his chest healed in a matter of seconds as his clothes got rid of the blood.
*Snap*
"Now let's go and meet your beloved Queen. Maybe she'll whine and moan like her own subordinates." The ungodly fatigue that was all over her body vanished in an instant.
'Just what are you?' She contemplated as she hastily picked up her armor which was drenched in her own juices. Her undergarments were torn off by Hedon thus she found herself at a pickle.
"Just wear the clothes these bitches had and get going!" She heard his voice which made it's way towards the exit. As much as she didn't want to, she found herself in a bind.
After changing, she found the clothes that she was in rather comfortable and relaxing however on her way out, she looked at the three who laid callously on the floor.
She ignored the sight as she stepped out of the hotel. Greedily breathing in the fresh air that was considerably better than what was in the hotel room. "What about the bodies?" She asked Hedon who was making his way towards the stairs.
"What about them? The staff will take care of them!" His response lacking empathy as he nonchalantly threw his arm in the air. She tailed him as the two made their way out of the hotel.
The sight of the commander in such casual clothes was something that took the people by surprise as they wondered who Hedon was. She could vaguely hear rumors about her being in a relationship with him.
She was frustrated as they were in the dark, unaware that the person they were categorizing as her lover was responsible for the murder of the last three royal members of Rien and the fall of two kingdoms.
"Why are you intentionally taking yourself to the palace? Do you think that Queen Odessa is your match?" She posed as the two drew closer as they walked side by side.
With Signe's presence, she was able to address that she had been able to take down the perpetrator that had been plaguing the people of these lands. It wasn't long before the two came to the throne room as Hedon's eyes surveyed the room.
His point of interest however landed on the figure that sat comfortably on the throne as a smirk played on his lips. "My queen, this is the one that was able to take down Rien and also had a hand in Aurorise!"
Odessa's eyes landed on Hedon's figure before shifting back to Signe's. "Where are your clothes and why are you wearing those clothes?" Signe was able to mask her distress. "My queen, my armor was bruised during my confrontation with him however I had some spare on me."
Luckily she had chosen something that wasn't too outstanding or she would be burdened with explaining with how she was able to get her hands on it. "Very well Signe." Odessa commended Signe of he effort however she felt that something wasn't quite right.
"My Queen, I have something to report. It would seem that this individual is a halfling between a demon and a human." Hedon had returned his guise of a regular human however with Signe's statement, he could only reveal himself.
"What?!" The few individuals present exclaimed their shock as they had never anticipated such an outcome. Sure there were halflings of other races, between humans and elves however that was rare as the compatibility between the two was low.
Vampires and humans and such however a demon and a human was unheard of. Sure succubi would lure men into having sex with them however no human was capable of actually impregnating a demon as their essence would be devoured by the nature of the demon.
Not to mention succubi would move from one partner to another so for one to keep a pregnancy was even more baffling. "What are you exactly?" Odessa asked Hedon who was standing ever so callously.
"I'm just some vile wretched bastard as your servant had said who likes to have a good time. Speaking of which, you do look rather stunning this evening." Odessa could barely hold back her laughter.
"It would seem that you do not understand the situation that you are in. I could kill you in a matter of seconds. Now are you related to that Miss Ashley or his spouse?" The citizens of Rien had spread the matters concerning the relation of the two here.
"Well it depends to what extent you are referring to. Sure I know them however-"
*BOOM*
Odessa's presence covered the entire room making it go silent. She could tell that he was now blabbering away at this point rather than giving crucial information.
"If you have nothing of use to say, just shut up!" Her voice boomed as she looked at Hedon. He was one of the few who remained unfazed with her presence.
"Odessa, are you stupid or something? Do you really think the presence of a tier six expert could actually pose a threat to me? Do you think that if so I would be able to take down Rien?"
Of course he never participated in the slightest with the fall of any of the kingdoms however it could be said with Zarina's information that he was. "So you're finally going to show your true colors, huh?"
Hedon's eyes gleamed brightly as a nightmarish smile appeared on his face. "You have no idea. Hahahahahaha!!!!"
…
"I can't believe that were the ones that were sent by Leopold to investigate this shitty kingdom." A tier two expert mused as he gave a slight yawn. The sun had already made it's descent and now darkness covered the lands.
"Shut up! If we are able to complete this then we should receive our freedom!" Another spoke as they made their way closer to Miragestia. Most of them were issued on a death row punishment while others were rotting away in prison.
And out of the blue some of them were given the chance to get their freedom provided they carry out a seemingly easy task. "I still can't believe that all we have to do is check up on Miragestia and report it back to Aewdwen."
The group was branched into two which one intercepted it to the left and the other to the right. So far both parties had been drawing closer and closer to it with no form of problem in their way.
The first party was to check the left while the other was to inspect the right. This was currently the first party and from afar, they could see Miragestia which seemed completely fine.
"It seems fine to me, let's go back." One of them pointed out however a voice was shot at him. "Are you mad? We have to go closer than this should we want our freedom. Let's rest here for the night."
The leader commented to which the rest agreed. His name was Ender, a tier two expert who was convicted of murder on multiple records and to the extent of killing a noble. He had a tall stature, burly body and scars all over his body.
At first when he heard about this, he was skeptical about it as it wouldn't make sense Leopold to give them their freedom in such a manner. It was too easy.
'For Leopold to do something like this, its apparent that the chances of our survival must be non-existent. He sent the scum of society and not his own men proving how dangerous this task is.'
He was one of the few who actually realized how deadly this task was however so far nothing outrageous had happened. To ensure that they actually did their tasks, they were issued mana bondage deals.
These were like waivers that one had to sign with their own blood and a bit of their own mana to identify the parties present. A set of conditions was set and if any side were to violate the terms, then their mana disc core would explode instantly.
This however worked best with low tier experts and higher experts required other means to achieve the same however since the highest that was present was a tier two expert, it wasn't a problem to issue out such waivers.
His group similar to the other had men of five and were expected to arrive close enough to Miragestia, inspect it and withdraw in a span of three days. The first day was coming to and end and so far, nothing life threatening had jumped out to them.
But that didn't mean that Ender had his guard dropped as he slept with one eye open. In a state that required the smallest of movements that would wake him up.
'We should arrive at the outskirts of Miragestia by tomorrow if we keep on going at this pace.' He mused in his head before he shot up. Instinctively reaching for his dagger.
Sensing that something was heading towards him, he looked only to drop his guard when he realized that it was Boone, a fellow comrade of his. He was one of his true friends before their killing spree came to an end.
Boone had a thing for ladies as he would spend questionable amounts of money at brothels and such. "Ender, my mana disc core is degrading." Boone whispered in the night.
They had snuffed out the flames and now the only source of light they had was from the moon however the clouds covered the beams from time to time. They had to rely on his other senses to navigate in the darkness.
Probing his mana disc core, he could sense the waiver that Boone had made however his tier had lowered from a tier two to a tier one. "Wha-" Before Ender could voice out his shock, he coughed out a mouthful of blood.
"Blargh!!!"
*Back at Aewdwen*
"Uhh? Your highness, we have a slight problem." Torin who had been entrusted this special operation by his father was alerted to which he didn't delay. "What is it?"
He asked one of the guards who was in complete disbelief. "It seems that some of the blood waivers have been nullified." He shot with a raspy and bewildered voice.
'For a waiver to be nullified, that would mean that those rascals either found a breach or their tiers dropped. I thought that this wouldn't happen so soon.' Torin mused in his head as he headed towards his fathers chambers.
After a knock, he was granted access and quickly delivered his message. "So some of those rapscallions will be able to actually gain their freedom. It seems that this virus worked quicker that we anticipated."
One of the ways for one to nullify a waiver was by losing their tier ranking completely however given how hard it was to make progress, such an option was barely enacted and few people knew of this method.
If one of the parties lost their tier ranking then the waiver couldn't use their mana disc core and killed them when they breached the contract. Should one of the parties somehow die, then the waiver will burn up and fade. Turning into ash.
And given that some of the worst people had been given freedom in such a manner, it wasn't good.
"But then again, their chances of them dying out there are high. Without tier ranking, they could die at the hands of even some tier one beasts! Have the security at the access ports increased should any one of them dare of thinking to come back here."
*At The First Party Location*
"Do you know what this means?! That we're free from those stupid waivers! We can run away from Aewdwen!" Boone mused however Ender raised an equally good point.
"And our chances of surviving out here are lowered as well. Sure we have multiple people and skills at our disposal however should we encounter a tier one beast, it could spell our demise.
The once rowdy and lively atmosphere was replaced with a somber one as they realized this. Sure they had their freedom but at what cost?
