Chapter 78 - The primordial awakens

Far away, beyond the confines of time and space, outside the Cosmic realms and beyond the Origins domainwas a place that was not like any place. It was a realm below the farthest depths of the Cosmic realms, beneath the confines of universes and realities. In that place time did not exist, space crumbled upon itself ceasely.

A tree, unlike any other was there, it's size was larger than a mystic realm, uncountable cosmic miles that human beings would not be able to measure or comprehend. The tree grew like a pitch black and grey weed, in a terrain of warping space and nether matter. It's branches were bare, able to hold Major Planes like mere fruits and it's surface was lined, sharp and withered like it drew in its own life force and like a nether creature, which it did. The tree spewed void essence into reality, like a cyclonic waterfall of black miasma, the very nothingness blasted from it's tops, going into the eternal unmeasurable confines of the void.

The Void tree had existed since before the Origins and before the Old ones. Beneath the tree was a skeleton, the size of a Major plane. It was the skeleton of a bird, dry and parched to the bones from mystic aeons of laying on nether matter. The crumbling space in the place, which could slice holes in reality, did not affect the skeleton, seemingly the bones melded with the devasting chaos of space warping and crumbling. The void essence however, occasionally sprinkled onto the bones, and at a touch from the stuff, cracks would form on the bones, only to heal faster than the next drop.

Thus it was a cycle, where the tree spewed void essence into reality and some sprinkled onto the skeleton, trying to destroy it but it healed itself faster than the void essence could break it down. How long this had gone on was unknown to the many creatures of any realm. But, in one instance of time, something changed.

The skeleton started to quiver and shake, the space around it broke down entirely and the essence from the tree stopped crumbling it. The skeletons head, the size of a star cluster, rose up as it gazed upwards, peering through time and space, across countless realms, planes and worlds until it's eyes landed on a minor world in a new minor plane within the cosmic realms. Upon this world, it's gaze roamed everywhere, all within a span of time than was to quick to count or measure.

A teenage boy could be seen, kneeling on the dirty floor within a derelict crumpled shack inside an old warehouse. A green flame ignited within the skeletons head, it's gaze blazed the space around it, like paper thrown on magma. The essence from the tree started to sizzle as it fell on the skeleton and the nether matter started to crack. A young boy appeared before teenager, fabricated from the teenager's memory and his will, brought out by the gaze of the skeleton.

"I promise to not be scared. To become strong enough, to make them scared." the teenager said and the green flame of the bird combusted, engulfing the entire skeleton.

Like simple parchment, the bones burst into flames, the space around the skeleton crumpled to ash as the nether matter was scorched. Which was very impossible , breaking a law of reality. Nether matter was the dead energy and matter from all planes and realms, it came from stars, planes of cosmic fire and by definition, it could not be burnt or damaged. The skeleton was reduced to green glimmering ashes, each one the size of mystic suns. From the ashes, a green flame, the size of a minor moon rose up, floating on the sizzling space. It shrank, squeezing itself to a size befitting a new minor world. A flaming tendril tore a hole in space, and it appeared like it was torn by a bird's claw and the shrunken flame disappeared in it.

"Yraaahhh!!!"

As soon as the flame left, the Void tree seemed to notice the skeleton's absence immediately. Transparent golden lightning, stronger than an origin realm star struck the ground where the green ashes were, destroying them to nothing. From the spewing void essence, a ghastly face appeared, roaring with such hatred, wrath and fury that the space gave out, warping and crumbling upon itself and creating space storms. Then as quickly as it appeared, the ghastly face vanished, along with the lightning, but space storms remained.

...

"I can help."

"Huh?" Lesley gasped as he found himself in his soul again, but this time it was different, Liv and Lych were standing next to him, facing...his younger self.

"What manner of Origin law are you?" Livasked and Lesley could hear and see fear on his face. Even Lych had a cautious and apprehensive expression, which made Lesley look at the boy before him with a weary gaze.

"You're not me are you?" Lesley asked and the boy smiled.

"I am your will to become stronger. Your memory drives you. I am your goal, your mirror and reflection." The boy bowed his head," But without you, I am just that. Please...let us work together."

"Don't trust it." Liv spoke up," Origins are malicious and selfish, he is tricking you."

"Reincarnation?" The boy looked at Liv, who's face lost all color and his mouth was wide open in a comical way.

"You...you know our Main laws?" Lych asked as his eyes glowed a dark green, his fists clenched with hostility but he didn't attack. He knew he'd be destroyed before he got the chance. Origin laws were beyond his reach, he was bitterly aware of that.

"Yes, I do Reanimation." The boy said with a smile and he looked at them with sad eyes," But, if you fear The Origins, then why do show affection to one? Grimaire."

"Don't you dare utter our Mother's name!" Liv hissed as green mist swirled around him, coiled like a thousand snakes." We may fear the Origins but she is our Mother, she-"

"Cares for you?" The boy gave a nod," I will not saying i doubt it. She might care for you but...does she want you to become Origins like her?"

"Immortals like us can not become Origins, they are on par with the Old ones." Lych said simply and the boy's eyes grew wide.

"Is that what you've been led to believe?" The boy shook his head," No Origin, is on par with an Old one. It would take all the Origins to defeat one, and that with a sliver of luck."

"Excuse me!" Lesley shouted," Sorry to break up your chat but what the fuck is going on!? I want answers!"

The other three beings looked at Lesley, who's eyes were growing dark, pitch black infact. His visage was starting to fade away and Liv and Lych gasped in shock, noticing their own visage fading. But whereas Lesley seemed to be fading to somewhere else, they seemed to being filtered out into nothingness.

"The time is up, Grimaire is collecting your souls and your laws are being feasted upon by the void." The boy said grimly.

"No! Mother!" Liv screamed and Lych gritted his teeth, was this their end? After everything? Grimaire - no! Their Mother... would let them perish?

"I can help you. All of you. To end this, to stand on par and beyond Grimaire, beyond all the Origins." The boy said with conviction.

"Why should we trust an Origin like you?" Liv shouted.

"Our fate is surely sealed, the void is beyond our power." Lych said softly, bitterly accepting his fate.

"Who...just who are you?" Lesley asked, feeling suddenly weak and feeling a soft tug on his being, that he couldn't but tried to resist.

The boy closed his eyes, and the dark waters below froze, seemingly holding their breath. Slowly, the boy opened his eyes and they were on fire, like green solar flares, they illuminated the three of them and stopped their fading bodies.

"I am the last of the First ones. I am the bridge between Death and Life. I am the spark beyond Light and Darkness. I am the Tempest, the Flame, the Undying who dies to live. I am The Phoenix...I am Primordial."

"Noooo!" A harsh, vicious screech resounded around them like a million banshee cries. Lesley quivered as a legion upon legion of shadowy skeletal arms, made of pristine white bones shot out from the darkness, grabbing the boy and trying to tear him apart!

"Ahhh!" The boy struggled against them, his arms fighting their hold but they were just too many. His eyes were angry, and filled with green blazing rage but he couldn't use his powers. The plane was too weak and Lesley's soul could not handle it. So, he just struggled violently as they overwhelmed him, grabbing and clutching, about to tear his limbs off.

Suddenly a wave of green flames struck out, burning half of the skeletal appendages. Lych stood, arms raised out, his eyes glowing a dark green. Liv looked at his brother with wide eyes, those hands were Reaper limbs, they belonged to their Mother...Lych had attacked her!

"Grimaire has no right to let me perish. My law is superior...it always has been." Lych said coldly as he waved his hands, creating an arch cover over them, made of blazing green flames. The skeleton arms failed to reach through it, and the boy smiled at him.

"Hmmm, Your flames burn Death back and burn more." The boy looked at Liv," So, you wish to perish?"

"What? No." Liv replied quickly, his eyes nervous," But to fight Grimaire, is to fight Gaia...my Mother's are essential. My law can't exist without them."

"Wrong. There is no laws that needs another law. Only Will based on intent, not essence needing essence. Reincarnation...do you believe you are only a product of Life and Death?"

"I..I...don't know." Liv looked down, his eyes confused by the boy's words.

"Unlike the Origins, I don't wish to lie, so I won't. Your laws, are grand. Your will is vast, your essence unattainable." The boy walked up to them with a small smile, his body marred by scratches from the skeletal arms. He opened his arms and hugged Liv, shocking the other two.

It was weird for Lesley seeing his younger self hug Liv and weird for Lych seeing his brother be touched by a seemingly mortal boy. Although he was not mortal, it was still strange.

"You need only ask yourself this; What do you want to do?" The boy asked him.

"I...want to preserve my Cycle." Liv said slowly," I want to exist with no bounds. No ties, to weaken my existence. To be the link, between the next stage of souls."

"I want to be acknowledged as a Power. Not deligated to a form of Energy or Divine will...I want to exist and my existence be known." Lych spoke up and the boy smiled at him, as he let Liv go and stood before Lesley.

"And, I asked you to promise earlier but now I ask...what do we want Lesley?" The boy asked, using 'we' as if they were the same person.

"I...we want to be at the top. To be so strong, that we never have to feel fear or loss again. We don't, no, we won't lose anyone ever again." Lesley answered and the boy hugged him, his body transforming.

Before the boy had been a thirteen year old looking tween, with red hair forest green eyes and freckles. But as he hugged Lesley, his eyes blazed hotter, till they where a celestial green, his hair became more wavy and turned pure green. The freckles on his face disappeared as he looked at each of them.

"Will you accept my help?" He asked in voice that resonated through Lesley's soul.

"Yes." They all said at the same time.

The boy smiled as he vanished, right before their eyes.

...

Matt was confused.

One second the zombie is killing his friends, then it's crying and talking to itself...now it was just kneeling there. Should he escape? Matt wasn't sure whether this was a trick or not.

"Hmm" Veranda groaned slightly in her sleep and Matt thought of an idea.

He got up, hoisting Veranda in his arms. He was sure that as long as he had Miss V, the zombie wouldn't dare attack him. It seemed smart, judging from it talking and fighting, like a high rank zombie. So, maybe it would remember Miss V and let him pass. If it didn't, he would just toss Miss V at it, then run away and escape.

Slowly, he inched towards the door. Just a few more steps, Matt smiled, I'm almost there.

RUMBLE!!!

The sky quaked, clouds sizzled to vapor and vanished. Matt fell down, his legs weak as a pressure unlike anything he'd ever felt fell upon the warehouse, infact on the whole neighborhood area. People and zombies alike, stopped and fell down, falling on their knees and faces.

Next to Lesley space tore open like a wound in reality, it bled tiny golden vapours into the atmosphere. The air seemed to breath in the golden vapours like a man in a desert drinking water. From the tear, a sphere of green flames emerged, the size of the moon.It didn't fully enter the space, otherwise it would have destroyed Greenhit and everything in it. Instead, a tiny drop of green fire shot out, the size of a car, into the teenager on the floor.

Boom!!

Matt gasped as the flame rammed into the boy's body and space seemed to unravel. The gravitational field in the room stopped as every object started to float, including the dead bodies, Matt, Veranda and Lesley. Tendrils of green fire blazed around Lesley, scorching the air and space around him, making the dead bodies spasm.

A ring of green mist appeared around Lesley, spinning faster than light. It spread out, slicing through all the dead bodies, yet it missed Matt and Veranda. The bodies were sliced through but they were not damaged, the ring seemed to faze through them, taking something important. Around Lesley's neck, an intricate necklace of light crystals appeared shimmering, like star dust, it fused into Lesley's neck, before vanishing from sight.

The tear in space closed, sealing the sphere of green flames away and the golden vapours vanished, leaving the air thick with an energy unknown. Gravity returned to normal as all the people dropped to the ground with a thud!

"Ohhh." Matt groaned in pain as he slowly got to his feet.

"Where do you think you're going?"

Matt's eyes grew wide as he heard that voice, raising his head to look at it's source. Lesley stood infront of Matt, but he was different, far different. Lesley was taller, his hair was a lustrous red shade and his freckles were close to red dots on his skin. His eyes were sparkling, shimmering like stars clusters in a green void. He wore a green vistige, a cloak of green flames was on his back and a ring of green mist and white dust glowed around his neck and wrists. He looked transformed, the power radiating from him seemed to push space away, making it bow down and crumble.

"I...I..I'm sorry!" Matt fell to his knees, fear was the only thing he knew at that moment. He bowed his head, ready to beg and grovel, do whatever the boy wanted.

But before could, a pressure fell on the boy and his eyes flickered and shut closed. Lesley swayed as his power, flames and light vanished, leaving him a bare chested teenager unconscious on the floor.

The last thing Lesley heard in his mind was;

[Congratulations on inheriting the Primordial Bloodline!]

[The world's will has imposed on you restrictions. Your power is sealed, meant to be earned and gained.]

[The Origins have sensed you, this plane has heard you, the laws seek you.]
