Chapter 8 - The Brother's Decision

At this point, Jack and Noah were still in middle school, while Alan and Hendry were in high school.

After gently patting his sister's head, Alan approached his parents and said, "Mom, Dad, I'm thinking of sitting for the Lexan University entrance exam. I want to enroll in the business management course."

Hendry added, "I've also decided to take the entrance exam for Lexan University, but I'm aiming for medicine."

Andrew and Kylie were taken aback by the sudden announcement, especially after observing their two sons. They still had a year or two of high school left, yet they were already planning to skip ahead to college.

Kylie glanced at her husband and gently nudged his chest, trying to ease his disbelief.

"Are you guys sure about this?" Andrew asked, looking at his two eldest sons. "Have you really thought it through? This is a serious decision. You still have time to consider it carefully."

"Indeed. There's no need to rush," Kylie added with concern. "You can take your time and think it through."

"No, Mom," Hendry replied firmly. "I've made up my mind. I want to complete my coursework as soon as possible and do well in our field so I can give my sister everything she wants."

"Yes, Mother," Alan chimed in. "Hendry is right. We want to spoil our sister. And besides, isn't it better to deepen our knowledge rather than repeating what we already know?"

"That may be true," Kylie responded. "But it could affect your school life. And don't the four of you already have more than enough money to buy your sister what she needs? Why rush your studies and skip a grade?"

"That's not money we earned, Mom," Alan said honestly. "It's the money you and Dad made—even if we're spending it now. I want to give my sister what she wants using the money I earned myself."

Andrew smiled as he saw the serious looks on both their faces. "It's good to think about your sister," he said. "I'm proud of you both. At your age, wanting to be independent is admirable. If you're sure about this—if you truly believe you can do it—I'll support you."

Kylie looked at Andrew in surprise. But when he gave her a knowing glance, she said nothing further and left it to the father and sons.

Meanwhile, Zara, listening from the sidelines, turned to her mother and said, "Mom, I feel like they're just using me as an excuse to skip the final year or two of high school."

"Why do you think that, honey?" Kylie asked, smiling as she stroked her daughter's hair.

"Didn't they say they wanted to help you?" she added.

"Yes, Lia," Hendry nodded, stepping in. "In order to protect you properly, we need to complete our education and give you the freedom to live carefree. Isn't that right?"

"First Brother, Second Brother," Zara said with a grin, folding her hands together. "If that's really true, then I'll wish you both the best. But you two better do well in your studies, support our parents, and keep working on your self-defense."

Alan smiled and leaned in to lightly pinch her cheeks. "Don't worry about that. We know how important self-defense is. And you're the one we'll always take care of. There's nothing to worry about."

Zara laughed and stuck out her tongue. "Okay… okay… Then, First Brother, good luck with your exams. Best wishes, Second Brother."

Both Kylie and Andrew were pleased to see their children's warm and playful conversation. Sitting together on the couch, Kylie leaned against her husband's shoulder and said, "Having Zara is truly a blessing. The boys were never this open before. Seeing them like this makes me so happy."

Grinning, Andrew took his wife's hand and added, "It's true. She's our lucky charm."

The Next Day

At nine in the morning, Professor Darren arrived to begin Zara's usual lessons. The Adam family had provided her with a spacious private study room to ensure she could learn without any difficulty.

Entering the room, Professor Darren smiled and said, "Today, I'll give you a basic introduction to quantum physics. I know you don't need to learn it just yet, but I'd still like to give you some foundational knowledge."

He continued, "But first, let me ask you a question. It's okay if you don't know the answer. Can you explain the theory of relativity to me?"

Professor Darren was well aware that Zara wasn't unfamiliar with the term "relativity." He had already given her plenty of reading material on the subject. Given her high IQ and sharp memory, he was confident she could retain and understand what she read.

With a calm expression, Zara replied, "Professor, the theory of relativity is a theory formulated by Albert Einstein to explain the relationship between space and time."

Professor Darren smiled with pride, clearly pleased with her answer. Inwardly, he beamed, "That's my student!"
