The older brother let out a sigh and poured himself a drink: "Bro, cheers. What do you do for a living?"
Gu Tao picked up his Sprite and clinked it with him: "I work at a tech company."
"A tech company, huh... tough work."
The older brother sighed, then turned back to look at his girlfriend: "Look at you, all you do every day is shop and hang out. Have you ever worked a day since graduating from school? This guy's about your age—look at how he lives, and then look at yourself."
The girl pouted and said nothing.
The older brother shook his head in resignation and said to Gu Tao, "Brother, I've been around. I get how tough it is at this age. These young girls today just don't understand. My girlfriend's like this, and my younger sister's even worse."
Gu Tao glanced up briefly: "My girl's the same. All she does is eat, sleep, play, and mess around, never taking care of anything. She even tells me all the time, 'Good enough is fine, why work so hard?'"
