The structures remained intact, and thus no alarms were triggered. The Wizards and Ritualists studying at the Grey Tower were completely oblivious to what had transpired at the top floor...
And they certainly wouldn't have known that their fake and inferior "Tower Master" was already dead.
Moreover, died a terrible death.
So, when they left the barrier, Annan and his party were able to search around the top floor undisturbed and unbothered by anyone.
As for Professor Grey, who theoretically should be "running dead and resurrecting"...
