[KIYOMI]
"Do what you have to do, baby. For your people. I'll be fine, I swear it," Kiyomi said before she pressed her lips against Saki's gently, like she wanted to say something, but she didn't trust her voice. So, she let it all in that kiss.
What had started off gently eventually got rough and needy. It was a kiss that had them both writing it up, but Saki wasn't complaining. She wanted to stay here, always, and forever. But perhaps forever would take a while to work through.
Even then, the queen had long made her choice.
And Kiyomi was hers.
Would she make the sacrifices she needed to get her freely, or was this just something she imagined possible but wasn't? Was this the price they had to pay for a love that was so conflicted and dangerous?
"I hope you forgive me, if I ever cross a line while on this damning mission," Saki said, as her tears made a show and Kiyomi felt her heart sink into her stomach. She couldn't quite count the number of times he had seen Saki this emotional.
The woman was being raw with her, and it scared her for a moment. This right here was the reminder of how hectic the future was bound to be and how cruel the universe had decided on them. It wasn't what any couple would ever want, but what the hell, right?
"I love you. That is what we both need," Kiyomi said even though she will return too. it was a horrible truth, one that lingered in her gut and made her want to disappear forever only to come back into Saki's arms.
It was a truth that none of them could control, and perhaps that's why it was easy for Kiyomi to pat her head gently, like she was letting Saki know that they could fight it eventually. But what the fuck was there for them to even be fighting?
What did they need that they didn't seek out as they wanted to? Perhaps at the end of the day, this was all that would always be left for them. But maybe it is worth something? Oh, but this was hectic.
Perhaps that was why Kiyomi chose to ignore the truth that was staring right back at her. Because it was too harsh.
But now, it is easier to nestle in the lie, right?
"I'm hungry, petal," Sami mumbled after a while, making Kiyomi chuckle.
She couldn't remember the last time she had been in the kitchen, but for Saki, she would go to whatever it took. After all, this was probably one of their last days together until everything was sorted.
And knowing the Lycan cultures, there was a lot of chaos headed for them.
A storm that didn't find what was good or bad.
A storm that needed them to act like they had never seen each other nor meant anything to each other if they were to survive. A storm that would make them seek each other at their lowest and maybe it is just the right storm for the both of them.
Maybe the sun would rise again, and they wouldn't have to hide.
"For you, I'll cook… but don't say a word to Elif about this," Kiyomi said, and Saki nodded, staring into her eyes like the world was right in there for both of them. Kiyomi was a beauty that Sakura Watanabe wasn't ever going to get tired of being around.
She was what perfection seemed, and if there wasn't all that dark history between them, perhaps they would have managed to be the most normal of people in a world that, despite everything, screamed love and fury.
Maybe it was too hectic, but baby steps, right?
"I won't tell her; besides she isn't here yet," Saki said batting her lashes at Kiki who knew she would do whatever the fuck this woman wanted for her. Just this one time, when they were not staring at each other like enemies, she would be whatever Saki wanted.
She would do whatever she needed because when the night ended and morning came, the hunt would begin, and the hunter was way too skilled.
Then again, this time, the hunter was hoping her prey was way more skilled at doing so, because then it would be a chase that won't break that many hearts. After all, love would always win, or so they hoped.
"So, it's me you hate, huh?" Elif voiced, and Saki let out a laugh while Kiyomi groaned. This was not going to be easy for her, now that her sister was back, she didn't mind.
Elif's presence was the reminder that, at the end of the day, humanity was real and that love was real too. Granted, they don't exactly have the same ways of thinking, but life could always be better.
"I don't hate you; I love you way too much," Kiyomi tried to explain while Saki snuggled closer to her like the woman and said she was hungry.
Kiyomi could have tried to get her hands off, but deep down, these were the fleeting moments before the hellish reality that would face them when the sun came up. So, she let them have this, it was the least they could do. Truly.
"Go on then, cook, your majesty," Elif teased as she walked by the couch, groaning loudly at the sight, but smiling nonetheless.
She knew that this was a need for Kiyomi, so she just went to her bedroom, but not before shouting a few orders to the duo that was still cuddled.
"My living room must not smell like sex when I come down for dinner Kiki," Elif warned and they just laughed at the irony. It was a beautiful moment, one that Sakura would hold onto for a really, really long time, now that life was background with them.
This was cruel, but hey, it was life, wasn't it?
"Petal," Sakura said once Elif was out of earshot.
"She's happy, isn't she?" Kiki said as she stared at the emptiness left by her best friend, she knew that life would change for Elif too, once Izanami left. It was not fair, but this was something that he had tried to prepare Elif for over the years.
It wasn't something so simple, but it was one that he had had to embrace because at the end of the day, no matter what life sent their way, they had to be real with each other.
"I won't hurt her. Even without my humanity, I won't hurt her, I swear it," Sakura said, even though they both knew that hurting humans was against what Sakura Watanabe believed in.
But she felt like this was something she had to reassure Kiyomi, because frankly, the tides were not kinder to the woman at this point. Maybe it wasn't even going to be enough, but it had to be worth something. After all they had endured, it had to.
"But I will, and that is what scared me more than my life being in danger," Kiyomi said and Sakura couldn't help but flinch even when she was in Kiki's arms. She hated this; what else could she do about it?
There wasn't much relief waiting for them either way.
"She loves you. She will understand why you had to… even if it takes a while," Saki reassured before she stepped out and dragged Kiki to the kitchen with her.
