CHAPTER 4
Solviered Kingdom: Part 3
It was the day of our division to be chosen.
We went there early. A lot of people were there. All of them were there either to use the fortune stone or to watch people get power. Different people got different powers. A lot of them were unlucky and got no powers. It basically worked like this. When you put your hand on it, it glows up. Depending on what colour it gets, their powers are different. They put their hand two times.
PUTTING HANDS FIRST TIME
BLACK= SWORDSMAN
ORANGE= SORCERER
RED= ARCHER
BROWN= BARBARIAN
GRAY= NORMAL HUMAN
PUTTING HAND SECOND TIME
BLUE= WATER WAVES
YELLOW= FLAME BREATH
LIME= WINDY STRIKE
PINK= HEALING
We were watching them. Our turn was at last. I looked at Arthur. He can walk again. He doesn't have that hole in the chest anymore. He was wearing a suit. It had the same colour as mine. He was wearing the same belt. I am so thankful he didn't die. I had been thanking him for the past 3 weeks. He seems weird though. He doesn't talk that much. This guy is even colder than Prince Johan. This guy is crazy though. He was supposed to be under healing for 1 week. But on day 3, he went to the library and started reading some books. He was found reading books even after midnight. This guy sure loves books I guess. I never saw what books those were. He finished 50+ books in a month and the books weren't even small. They were like 600+ pages. It just looked like that. Maybe it had more pages than that.
Our turn had come. First it was my turn.
I put my hand on it.
To my utter surprise,It came ORANGE.
I wanted to be a sorcerer and I became one. I was so lucky.
I put my hand on it for the second time.
It came LIME this time.
I won't complain. Windy power sounds really cool.
Everyone clapped for me after that. Everyone was cheering. I don't know why. A woman shouted,"please,save us. Don't let this kingdom end."
I will do my best.
Now it was turn for Arthur.
He walked there slowly as I was leaving.
He waited for a bit and put his hand on it.
The colour was really bright. I didn't seem to catch what colour it was. The bright light came and went away in 2 seconds. Nobody saw what colour it was.
"Put your hands again,"Prince Johan said.
He did it. Same thing happened again. He put his on it and a bright light came and went away. It was bright so we couldn't see anything. It was white but that doesn't fall in any of the categories.
"That shouldn't be happening. It doesn't fall in any of the categories. It's impossible. Do it again,"Prince Johan said.
He did it again but this time something really crazy happened. He put his hand and this time, I could see the colour. It was bright red. No, it was crimson. And then the light pressure of the light was so massive that the stone burst. The light went up in the sky and made the sky crimson. It was like a storm was coming. Everyone began to panic. Prince Johan looked worried too. But a few moments later, the light was shrinking. The sky became normal. The light mixed in the air. Arthur was just standing there like nothing happened. The stone was crumbled to pieces.
"How the hell? This isn't supposed to happen," Prince Johan said.
At the Casthome,
"You are saying that the stone blasted after he put his hands on it? But that's impossible," Princess Julia said.
"Even I am confused. The colour of that light doesn't even mean anything. We don't know what division he falls into,"Prince Johan said.
"Don't worry, we will send a lot of adventurers to find the stone. We have to test him again,"Princess Julia said.
"Yeah, until then your training starts. You will visit dungeons and go in the wilds with me now. There will be some more people too,"Prince Johan said.
Yay! I was excited. I'll get to see magical creatures but I was scared too. Last time, meeting with that magical creature wasn't very pleasant.
After the day, I was taught magic for 2 days. This is how it worked. You get a wand. Focus on your hand and then imagine getting powers from the wind and it appears right in front of you. It was really easy. I thought it would be difficult.
I went to meet Emma that day. She said there will be a music competition in the town. She will participate in it. I told her that I will surely cheer for her.
Then on that day in the morning, we were finally going to a dungeon. Mid way Prince Johan said,
"You don't know about the creatures,do you?"
"No,nobody told me," I replied.
"The monsters have been divided into different classes.
ANIMALS: They are normal
BEASTS: They have some magical power and are hard to fight for a normal human being.
KUMAS: Starting from this class, the monster skin gets harder. Their flesh can't be eaten. Kuma has a lot of magical powers and mostly they want to fight.
DEADLIES: They usually are smart. They can protect themselves and hunt. Fighting them is tough because they have a huge amount of magical power. If you aren't skilled enough, you'll surely die.
DEVILS: They are human beasts. They have everything a normal human has. But they are stronger than us. They have more magical power than us. This class is the toughest to defeat.
We are heading to a dungeon now that has been reported to be a Kuma in it."
"What was the one we fought before?" I asked
"It was the Emereens. It falls in the kuma class,"He replied.
We reached the dungeon. We were standing before it. It looks like a cave. It has some coloured stone on the gate and inside it too. I could see them from outside.
"This coloured stone refers to what division of monster is in there. There usually is only one monster in a dungeon.
Yellow Stone= BEAST
Purple Stone= Kuma
Green Stone= Deadly
As the stones are purple here, that means there is a Kuma inside."
"What about Devils? Which coloured stone do they refer to?"I asked.
"They don't stay in dungeons. They have human IQ so they build their home too. There is a Demon continent located in the southeast. Most of The devils live there. Some of the devils are even considered gods. Like the one we did a ritual to transport you here,"He replied.
"You have been learning magic for days now. You'll go alone inside. Just call me if you need help,"He added.
I was a bit scared. It is a Kuma. From the previous experience I have, I sure am scared. But now I have magic. I put some courage in my heart and went in.
It sure is dark. I only see the coloured stones glowing. I was walking when I saw a dead end. What? It was empty? I used my magic to create light. The magic glows so as long as I don't cast it, it works like a torch. As soon as I created some light, I saw a room to my left. I was huge. And what I saw next wasn't very good news.
I saw a huge monster lying on the ground. It was really huge. It looks like 5 metres. He isn't even standing now. It has 2 hands and 2 legs. There are some spikey things on his head and it doesn't have eyes? There was a hole in the place where the eye was supposed to be.
And as my fate was unlucky, It was awake. It doesn't have eyes so I couldn't tell. It stood up and broke the roof. Some stones fell near me. It tried to kick me but it hit the wall. I barely managed to dodge that. I already cut my hand. I ran towards the gate screaming for help. It followed me. As it was coming it was breaking the roof of the dungeon.
"What happened?"Prince Johan said.
I got out of the dungeon and jumped out of the way.
Prince looked concerned.
"What the hell? This isn't supposed to be here. How the hell did it come here?"Prince said.
"Mrs.Violet run as far as you can or climb a huge tree,"He ordered me.
I couldn't run at this point because I cut my leg too as I was running. I decided to climb a tree. I jumped and put some air magic pressure under me so it made me jump really high. The tree was huge, almost 30 metres. I could see the monster, it was at least 10 metres tall.
"Prince, what is happening?" I asked.
As he was running circular around it and damaging it with his sword he answered,
"It is a Deadly. I don't know how it is a Kuma dungeon. I am guessing it killed the Kuma inside and started living there."
Yes, I remember I saw a skeleton there too.
"Yes, I think you are right. I saw a skeleton inside. It looked like the skeleton of an animal."
He was fighting it. This beast is no joke. The prince was damaging it a lot and it wasn't even acting like he was hurt. Prince jumped on the mountain the dungeon was in. From there he jumped on his arm. He is a swordsman that uses Flame Breath. He jumped, turned his sword into a flaming sword with magic and sliced its hand in the middle dividing it in two. He landed on its shoulder and pierced his mouth with his sword. The monster used his other hand to grab the Prince. Prince sliced one finger. Then It threw him. It was slowly regenerating its arm. The cut seemed to be hard to regenerate. Fire burns are there. Prince slammed into a tree leaving him injured.
I was feeling useless. The prince stood up, dashing towards it. I was sitting at the top of a tree. I used my magic from there. The air pressure at most of my capacity,
"No, wait!"Prince screamed.
Windy Strike! It went towards it very fast. It damaged it but it wasn't much. Just some rocky looking flesh of his chest got destroyed.
"What did you do!"Prince screamed.
The monster saw me and regenerated his arm and punched the tree I was on top of. I was falling. My mind became dark. I went numb. It was a huge tree. I'll fall and die.
"Wake up!"Prince Johan screamed.
I got into my senses. I really quickly made air pressure under me so it saves me and I don't fall. It slowly got me down on the ground.
I ran towards Prince.
"Listen to my plan, only Devils understand our language. That means it doesn't know what we say. We go different ways, run around it. Damage it as much as you can. Just do that, I'll do the rest,"Prince explained.
We both went different ways. He was fast. He was running on the trees! I went up the mountain. I used my air pressure to attack it. I still couldn't use many techniques. I used Windy Strike again. My capacity isn't much so it didn't damage it much but I was distracting it. It was focusing on me. The Prince then jumped and used his flaming sword…
FLAME STRIKE!
It cut his left hand and left a burning scar. Prince then cut his chest and attacked its right arm.
As he was cutting it through it, it became angry and screamed. The scream caused a huge shockwave. It sent us flying backwards. We went 70 metres back. It destroyed the tree within a 40 metres radius.
Wasting no time, we stood up and dashed towards it.
"Hey, use all the power you have, Cast air pressure towards its head. As much as you can,"Prince ordered.
I did as he said. I used all my power on air pressure.
CAST!
There was an insane amount of wind almost like a storm going towards its head.
FLAME STRIKE!
The prince swung his sword in the air. As the wind was a lot it enlarged the fire. It was screaming in the pain of the burn. Then going through the flames, the prince used his sword…
FLAME STRIKE!
He cut its neck off.
....
....
It died right there. We were injured and exhausted. Our horses died due to the shockwave.
"Your first slaughter was a Deadly, congratulations!"Prince said.
"No, I was pretty much useless. It was all you,"I replied.
"No, without your help, it wouldn't have happened,"Prince said.
....
They threw a huge party when we reached the Casthome as we defeated a Deadly and it was my first hunt. Their was delicious food. This time the all items were new. I never seen them before. After eating, I remembered about Emma. I have to go there.
"Prince, there is a music competition happening in the town. Can I go there?" I asked.
"Yes, we defeated a huge monster today. Enjoy and take rest as much as you want,"Prince said.
"Can i take Arthur with me?"I asked again.
"Sure,"Prince replied.
I thanked him and went straight to Arthur's room.
I knocked on the door. He didn't answer. I waited a bit and knocked again. He still didn't answer. I thought maybe he was sleeping. So, I opened the door to check but…

....
Probably that was my biggest mistake....
