I had barely stepped away from Kaizen, when I felt his gaze. He was still, freshly showered, his back straight, his expression unreadable as he watched Emperor Kaizen speak to me.
I could feel his eyes drilling into me, his usual cold detachment replaced by something darker. Something… possessive.
Kaizen's voice, smooth and effortlessly charming, reached me as he continued his conversation. His smile was infuriatingly easy, as though he were enjoying the tension between Leo and himself.
"Is there something wrong, Leo?" I asked, my voice calm but unsure. I knew the answer before I even spoke. There was something wrong, something simmering beneath the surface.
The way Leo's jaw tightened, his eyes narrowed—it was obvious.
