Chapter 154 - End Of Contract!

An unknown portal had appeared in the middle of a busy road in Tokyo.

It wasn't just any portal. It was huge—at least three times bigger than the usual S rank dungeon portals that appeared around the world. The swirling mist inside the portal gave off a strange light, and its size alone made it clear… something dangerous might come out of it.

Luckily, security forces had acted fast. Police, special forces, and dungeon response units had sealed off the area. Red warning barriers glowed around the portal, and no one was allowed near it. People were kept far back, and helicopters flew above to monitor the situation.

Several top-ranked hunters had already arrived. Among them was Kozuha, a sharp and smart woman known for her loud voice and bright personality (And strange fetish). Standing beside her was Sora Aoi—the third strongest hunter in the world.

Around them stood other powerful hunters from the world's top 15. They were all silent, tense, waiting.

Sora looked at Kozuha. "When is she going to come?"

Kozuha sighed and checked her watch. "I called her. She's in the countryside, and we're in the middle of Tokyo. It'll take time. Mr. Daniel is also on his way, but he's in Hiroshima so he'll have to take teleportation portal and the come here, It'll take time."

Sora nodded slightly. It was a fair reason, but the tension in the air was growing thicker.

Just then, a strange sound filled the sky.

Flap… flap… flap…

It was soft at first, like a bird in the distance, but it grew louder—heavier. Everyone turned their heads and looked up.

And there… high above the city…

A woman floated in the sky.

She had six large wings—pure white with a soft purple tint. Four were stretched out from her back, and the other two came from her lower back, near her waist. The sunlight hit her wings, making them shine like they were made of light.

Her purple hair swayed gently, and her facial expression looked calm but powerful.

It was Scarlett"

She slowly came down from the sky like a goddess from another world. Her landing was so smooth and graceful, it made everyone feel like they were watching a dream.

No one said a word. They just stared, stunned. Even the strongest hunters there didn't know how to react.

Finally, Kozuha, who was never one to stay quiet for too long, broke the silence.

"Ms. Scarlett!" she shouted, pointing with wide eyes. "You never told me you had wings! And six of them?!"

Scarlett blinked Inside her blindfold, then scratched her head with an awkward smile. "Did I? Hmm… I guess I forgot to mention it."

Kozuha's mouth fell open. "Forgot?! I knew you weren't human, but now I'm really curious! What race are you? Are all your people like this? Wait—come to think of it, you've never told us anything about your past, have you?!"

She fired off question after question like bullets, her eyes sparkling with curiosity.

Scarlett held up both hands in defense. "Whoa, whoa… What's with all the questions all of a sudden? We're here for work, remember?"

Kozuha blinked, then slapped her forehead. "Ahh—right! The portal!"

Everyone snapped back into focus.

"So as you can see, this is the portal. Thankfully, the dungeon breakout hasn't happened yet, and nothing has come out of it!" Kozuha said, pointing at the giant, swirling portal with a serious look on her face.

Scarlett stood beside her, looking at the portal calmly. Then she turned to look at Sora Aoi and the other hunters who were gathered nearby. With a soft smile, she waved at them cheerfully.

Sora and the others blinked in surprise before awkwardly waving back. They had seen Scarlett many times in the news—strong, cold, mysterious. None of them expected her to be so... friendly.

Sora took a few steps forward and stopped in front of Scarlett, tilting her head slightly. "Where is Ms. Irish? I know she's really strong too. She could be a big help."

Scarlett crossed her arms and scoffed lightly. "She had some work to take care of. And besides, I'm here. There's no need for any extra help."

She didn't mention the truth: Irish was busy keeping Arthur locked down with her magic. If she stopped, even for a second, Arthur might escape.

Suddenly, Scarlett turned and looked at the portal. Her voice was firm and confident. "I'm going inside."

Sora's eyes widened and she quickly stepped forward. "Wait! We should wait for Mr. Daniel and the group of Rank A and B hunters. We should go in together!"

Scarlett glanced back, her expression calm but bold. "No one has time for that. How about this—I go in first, alone. If I don't come back in five minutes, then all of you can come after me. Deal?"

"Alone?" Kozuha frowned deeply. "But it's too dangerous! There might be traps… or a whole army inside!"

Scarlett smiled, then waved her hand like she was brushing away their worries. She didn't answer.

Everyone stood still as they watched her walk straight toward the giant portal. Their expressions were mixed—some nervous, some amazed. But no one tried to stop her.

Scarlett stepped into the portal. Her vision twisted for a second—everything went blurry, then cleared up again.

She found herself in a strange world. White fog drifted in the air, though it wasn't thick enough to hide her surroundings. The sky above was empty—no stars, no moon—just a quiet, endless black.

But the ground was glowing faintly, white as bone. It felt like she was standing on a desert made of ash or snow. "What kind of place is this? Am I on the moon?" Scarlett whispered to herself. Then a breeze touched her face.

"Definitely not the moon," she added with a quiet smirk.

Her purple hair swayed slightly as she turned her head and looked ahead. And there, in the distance, stood a massive army—strange alien-like creatures, lined up and ready for battle.

Scarlett narrowed her eyes, lips curling into a small smile beneath her purple blindfold. "There they are," she muttered. "Let's end this."

Her boots crunched softly against the white ground as she started walking forward, slow but fearless. The sound of her footsteps echoed strangely.

Thump... thump... thump...

Meanwhile, far behind the army, Xantus—leader of the alien forces—held a golden telescope to his eye, watching the figure who had just stepped out of the portal.

His face turned pale in an instant. His hands shook, and he stumbled backward in shock. His voice came out in a gasp, full of fear.

"A... Anafabula?"

Zorgoth, his trusted right-hand warrior, heard him and repeated the name in disbelief. "Anafabula?"

He stepped closer, staring at the figure in the distance. "How is that possible? Why would she come here herself to deal with cannon fodder like us?

Even Zorgoth's body began to tremble. His hands clenched tightly around his black sword.

"I-I don't know," Xantus stuttered, his eyes wide and full of terror. "Her hair looks different now, but... I'd never forget that face. That cruel monster wearing the most beautiful body in the world… there's no one else like her. I swear it. It's her. I'm not wrong!"

All around them, the alien soldiers began to panic. Whispers spread like wildfire.

"Did he say Anafabula?"

"That can't be true!"

"Why is she here!?"

Shouts and fear filled the army. The square formation turned into chaos as soldiers backed away, looking unsure and terrified.

Zorgoth looked to Xantus, waiting for an order. "What do we do now?!"

Xantus didn't even hesitate. His eyes were wild with fear. "What do we do?! What else?! Open the damn portal! RUN!! Run for your lives!!"

He didn't care about the army anymore. He didn't care about the battle or the plan. All he wanted now was to get away from here.

Alive!.

Scarlett looked at the alien army. What was once a perfectly organized formation now looked like a mess—soldiers running around, shouting, bumping into each other. It felt more like a panicked crowd than a trained army.

"Why are they freaking out like that?" she wondered, raising an eyebrow. "Did they find out who I am? Maybe they realized how powerful I really am…" she thought to herself, but she didn't waste another second standing around.

Without warning, six large wings burst out from her back. With one powerful flap, she shot up high into the sky like a rocket, leaving a gust of wind behind her.

From that height, the alien army looked like tiny ants crawling in panic.

Scarlett looked down at them with a cold smirk. "Say goodbye to your world, idiots," she muttered, raising both of her hands and pressing her palms together. Then, she made a strange, quick sign with her fingers—a signal only she understood or maybe even she not.

A giant magic circle appeared above the army, glowing in a mix of orange and yellow. Right beneath it, a second circle appeared, slightly smaller but just as bright. Then, a third one formed below that—creating a tower of glowing destruction in the sky.

Each circle hummed with pure power, lighting up the strange world like a second sun.

"Nuclear Magic… 100%," she said calmly.

The last time she used this magic was against Tiathmet and Lunaria's army, and even then, she had only used 30% of its power. She had also held back the radiation effect back then—to protect the environment and her own people.

But this time, there was no one to protect. No forest, no allies. She was in the middle of some random place in the galaxy. And she wasn't planning to hold anything back.

------------

On the ground, a portal was opened to run away from here as quickly and as far as possible.

But before a single foot could step through—

The three magic circles above exploded with light.

BOOOOOOOOOOOMMMMMMM…

A giant wave of fire and energy burst out like a sun collapsing. The air roared, the ground shattered, and everything within miles was turned into nothing but dust and light.

Outside the portal, everyone waited. Some paced nervously, others stood still with tense faces.

"It's almost five minutes…" Kozuha said, glancing at her watch. Her voice was quiet at first, but then it slipped out louder than she meant, "Did we really do the right thing… letting her go alone?"

Everyone heard her, but no one had the answer.

Sora Aoi clenched her fists. "Who could've stopped her anyway? If we're going, we better go now!" she said firmly, turning to the other hunters.

But just as they were about to move—

The portal shimmered… and Scarlett walked out.

Her boots touched the ground softly. A few small bits of white ash clung to her body. Her clothes were mostly fine, though slightly torn at a few spots—barely noticeable unless someone looked closely.

Scarlett let out a small breath. "Good thing I used a protective barrier on my clothes… I've had enough of getting almost naked every time I fight," she thought. Then she glanced down at the torn parts and sighed, "Still not perfect. I'll have to work on it more."

The hunters stared at her in surprise. Some looked relieved, others just confused.

Sora rushed over. "What happened? Are you okay?"

Before Scarlett could answer, the portal behind her began to shrink. With a soft, humming sound, it slowly disappeared into thin air.

She tilted her head slightly, then gave a confident smirk. With a casual thumb pointing at where the portal had just been, she said, "I cleared it, of course."

The hunters froze.

"You what?" someone whispered.

"You mean… already?"

Eyes widened all around. Some were shocked. Others looked like they couldn't believe what they just heard.

"Was it really that easy?" Sora thought, staring at her with wide eyes. "Or… was it just easy for her?"

Then suddenly—a golden light appeared above them. It sparkled like sunlight breaking through clouds. From that light, something slowly floated down.

An ancient book, old and glowing, came out from the golden light and hovered gently in the air.

"The Contract Book…" Sora said softly, her eyes locked on the book. "That means… that was really Catastrophe-level dungeon that Ms.shiansaid about . And Ms. Scarlett… completed it…"

Everyone stared in silence. It all felt like a dream. Some hunters even pinched their arms, trying to check if they were awake.

The world ending Catastrophe turned out to be doing even less damage than an E rank Dungeon.

Scarlett reached up and grabbed the old book with one hand. It was warm to the touch and filled with deep and "mysterious" magic.

She turned around and looked at Sora and Kozuha. Her voice was calm but firm.

"Alright," she said, "take me to your basement… or your headquarters… whatever you call it."

Her eyes narrowed, filled with quiet power.

"Now it's my turn to speak."
