As the squad ran past an area with sparser trees, a swift and silent salvo was unleashed.
Danny was the only person who managed to react in time, but even he wasn't quick enough to warn the others before he was forced to sharply twist his body, closely avoiding a pair of shots targeting him and Gramps. And at that very moment, loud thuds and cracks simultaneously rang out.
"NO!" Danny bellowed as he frantically straightened his posture. But before he could see what had just happened to his squadmates, his vision suddenly darkened.
Danny was on the verge of panicking when all of a sudden, he felt a familiar chill in the air, followed by Frost's stern voice a second later.
"Everyone hold your positions and keep calm. We're inside my dome."
Soon, the darkness abated as most of the squad members activated their belt-mounted tactical lights. They could now see that a large, blue ice dome was completely isolating them from the outside.
