Meanwhile, in the Devil's Sea, aboard the Thriller Bark.
Perona rubbed her eyes hard and rechecked her Diary Copy. A moment later, her eyes were bulging wide, her mouth hanging open like she could fit two whole eggs inside.
"Th-this is real! My eyes aren't playing tricks on me!"
"Lord Moria… is actually going to lose his position as a Warlord?!"
"Could that mean… he gets killed by a Yonko?!"
Perona's panicked voice echoed through the room.
"What about me? What's going to happen to me?! In the future, do I…do I die, too?!"
Even the ghosts she'd conjured with her powers seemed terrified.
[Man, Moria really does have lousy luck. Ever since he lost his Warlord title, it's been one disaster after another. Even his subordinates suffered.]
[That invisibility-fruit user, Absalom, got killed by Blackbeard's crew after Moria lost his position.]
[The little ghost girl he raised since childhood was slapped away by Bartholomew Kuma.
And Moria himself almost got taken out by Doflamingo.]
[But it can't be helped; he never bothered to train, spending all his time on those zombies.
If he'd only gotten stronger, maybe he wouldn't have ended up all alone.]
Perona stared in shock.
"Absalom… killed?! And Lord Moria ends up all alone?! Did Doflamingo—another Warlord—nearly finish him off? How could this happen? What in the world goes on in the future? Wait…did Kuma really swat me away? Kuma the Tyrant, the Warlord? D-does that mean I died, too? No way! I don't want to die!"
She clutched her head in despair.
"Somebody save me… Wait, Arton. Maybe Arton can save me. If only Arton would mention my name in his diary more often, I'd gain enough strength to protect myself, right? But—argh! Why won't Arton bring me up in his diary?! Do I have to find him in person so he'll finally talk about me?"
Muttering to herself, Perona thought of the hundreds of photos Arton had taken of Uta.
"If he took that many photos of me, I'd definitely be strong enough to protect myself… Does that mean I should go out to sea and look for Arton? But the Marines are all over him. If I go now, won't those female Marines come after me? Ugh, my head hurts! What am I supposed to do?!"
She curled into a ball on her bed, feeling utterly hopeless.
After all, among the Warlords, the older generation like Doflamingo… Bartholomew Kuma… the soon-to-be new Warlord Blackbeard—apparently they'd all target Moria. Then there was also a chance the Big Mom Pirates might go after Moria as well.
Perona never would have guessed that the Moria Pirates, hiding in the Devil's Sea all these years, could have so many potential enemies lined up all at once.
It wasn't just Perona. Gion, Monet, Boa Hancock, and the others were equally stunned by Moria's miserable future—especially the female Marines like Gion. They were even considering whether they should revoke Moria's Warlord status preemptively, given Arton's information that Moria was basically doomed.
Doll: "I'm at a loss for words about Moria."
Kujaku: "How did he manage to anger so many fellow Warlords?"
Gion: "Weird. Even Bartholomew Kuma and Doflamingo end up attacking Moria's crew? Kuma only struck Moria's underlings, but Doflamingo went straight for Moria… Could it have been an order from the World Government that made Kuma and Doflamingo go after him? Then again, by that time, Doflamingo might've already lost his Warlord status, so maybe there's another reason."
Monet: "Could losing his Warlord status be tied to this whole mess?"
Belo Betty: "If Kuma's involved, maybe the Revolutionary Army ought to keep an eye on Moria."
Koala: "At least this confirms one thing—Kuma-san isn't one of the two Warlords who'll get replaced by Blackbeard and Buggy. That's a relief!"
Jewelry Bonney: "Whatever the case, as long as that scumbag father of mine is safe, fine by me."
[Come to think of it, among that first batch of Warlords, both Moria and Doflamingo end up with really tragic fates.]
[But if we're talking about who's got it the worst, that'd still be Bartholomew Kuma. Who would've imagined that someone as strong and mysterious as him—once near the top of the Warlords—would be reduced to little more than a Celestial Dragon's pet, ridden around like a horse?]
Belo Betty: "Huh?!"
Koala: "What?! That can't be!"
Jewelry Bonney: "Impossible! Absolutely impossible!"
