Auri walked into the building and she could already see the next day's headlines. There would be speculation about her and Nicolas Leroux. The Dubois sisters were going to lose their minds. That thought alone made her internally smile. She showed a bit of that smile when Nicolas got the door for her.
She smiled up at him as she said, "Thank you."
He smiled and nodded at her as she slinked past him and into the room being used for rehearsals while the main catwalk was being worked on. Speaking of rehearsals, one was already underway. Jean was standing in the middle of the stage with a clipboard in her hands. She looked at the opening door and she was not the only one who did so. Everyone looked over. Auri felt that the air was thick with tension, speculation, and curiosity.
"Nice of you to join us, Engel!" Jean said, her voice firm.
Auri felt herself fold down like a dog in trouble.
"It was my fault," Nicolas said, "I needed to go over a few urgent things with her."
