A few minutes before Wally Wackford started his countdown, Striker walked to stand beside Y/n.

Striker wore a wickedly arrogant smile as his eyes focused solely on Y/n.

It was clear that Striker was attempting to intimidate him. Nevertheless, Y/n didn't even glance in his direction.

Striker's mind raced with thoughts about how he could teach the sinner a lesson, mainly because of what he had done earlier.

Striker: "Snickering." Don't feel too bad when you lose; it happens to the worst of you people.

Y/n simply shook his head while quietly laughing at how pathetic he was. Y/n wasn't giving him a single ounce of attention, as he already knew these types of people. They thrive by making others miserable, and attention only feeds into them.

Wally Wackford: 3….2…

Striker: lost for words, huh, haha.

Y/n: Yeah, sure am.

Wally raised his hand with something in it toward the sky before suddenly firing a gun.

Wally Wackford: And begin!

Striker was among the first to be off, his face still plastered with a smile. While running, he noticed that the Sinner wasn't even beside him.

His smile only grew wider as he realized the sinner couldn't catch up to him. He was a much faster being, and the sinner couldn't even keep up with him.

He looked over his shoulder to see what kind of pathetic face the sinner was making. However, instead of seeing him running, he saw him still standing at the starting line.

He was standing still, yawning from his mouth. He had his arms crossed over as he simply watched the others run.

While Striker still had a grin on his face, it could be weighed down with uncertainty, wondering what the sinner was up to.

However, he couldn't keep thinking about it as he had a race to win.

Back with y/n

As the chaos unfolded with people running, fighting, and even killing, Y/n remained calm at the starting line, casually leaning on the left side of the fence.

Millie and Loona jogged to the fence where he stood. Millie's face showed confusion, while Loona appeared just as she always did.

Millie: Y/n! Is everything okay? Why aren't you running?

Y/n: Hm? Oh, hey, everyone, what's up?

Loona: Dude, I don't think you noticed, but the race has already started. Hell, I can see Blizo up ahead of the other runners.

Y/n: Oh yeah, I know.

Loona: Then why are you standing around?

Y/n: Why race when there is already a winner?

Millie: What do you mean?

Y/n: Eh, just give it some time. They have to run about 2 miles?

Millie: Yeah, but how do you know?

Y/n: Because I already checked out the path.

Millie: What, but when did yo-

Y/N: Eh, I think it was about two minutes ago. But besides that, when exactly is the next game?

Millie: If it's like last year's, it will probably be 2 tomorrow. But are you sure you don't want to start running?

Y/N: Yeah, it's okay, don't worry. Oh, Loona. By the way, I couldn't help but see a few festival games you're down to play after this race.

Loona: You're trying to lose again.

Y/n: Um, actually, last time I checked, I won the carnival games at Loo Loo Land.

Loona: Bro… ain't no way you just pulled a.

(Image here)

Loona: In real life.

Y/n: fuck your right!

The pair were laughing hard at what y/n said. While Millie just kept watching the show.

Loona: Hm, okay. We can play a few. It's been a while, hasn't it?

Y/n: Yeah, sure has.

Loona: Want to bet on it?

Loona had a cocky smile on her face as her eyes were locked onto his.

While her words might have sounded playful, there was a hint of something else with a deeper meaning.

Y/n: Oh yeah, huh, you want to wager?

Loona: damn straight. I had already placed my bet on who would win the race.

Millie: Please don't tell me you're betting against my sister.

Loona: That chick? Yeah, I am.

Y/n: Alright, so what are we wagering?

Loona's eyes instinctively looked at y/n's lips for a moment, remembering how Octavia kissed him.

She wasn't thinking straight, so anything that happened wasn't her fault, right?

Just her heat was making her act this way, and as soon as it was over, they would return to being friends…

Loona: If I win, we can make out for a minute?

Y/n: Oh? Are you sure that is a good idea with you being in heat?

Loona: Why? You've got no balls.

Dam, ain't no way she just said that.

Loona: No bitches? No hoes? No maidens?

(image here)

Y/n slowly fell onto one leg and grabbed at his heart, feeling the intense pain of hearing such words.

He slowly got back up and looked at Loona with a smile, but his eyes were closed as a wicked vibe came from him.

Y/n: Alright, Loona, that's how you want to play it. Then, if I win, you can't pleasure yourself during your heat period.

(loona reaction)

Loona: Are you telling a hellhound that she can't relieve herself in heat?

Y/n: Yeah.

Loona's eyes drifted away, her mouth locked, and she now regretted her decision in words.

Y/n: Are you up for a challenge or too much of a pup to do it?

Loona: Tsk, as if I would run away because of something as simple as that.

Millie: Uh, y/n, you should really start running now. They just reached the first obstacle course.

Y/n: "Sigh," alright.

Y/n finally walked away from the fence and started to do some stretching.

Back with Striker

He hasn't seen the sinner since the very beginning. He knew that he would chicken out after all. Sinners are all talk.

He laughed to himself as his eyes locked on the first obstacle that was slowly coming up.

It was a giant wall that looked like he would have to hop over.

He was suddenly shoved in his side, making him almost fall over.

He looked over with an intense stare, only to see that lousy imp of a boss.

Blizo: "sarcastically." Oh, my bad, I didn't see you there.

Blizø smiled with his teeth showing slightly.

Striker rolled his eyes before trying to see if he could manipulate the imp.

Striker: I'm telling you, Blizø. Sinners are just the most useless beings in existence. Hell, your employee tried starting a fight with me over nothing.

Striker: You're making a mistake keeping him around.

Blizø: You know I might be stupid sometimes, but that doesn't mean I'm blind. But hey, I wouldn't have to see your horrendous face if I were.

Blizø: Also, I wouldn't say that just yet. After all, the race is still going on.

Striker: Well, don't say I didn't warn you.

The two were standing before the wall, panting and sweating like hogs.

Striker's eyes gleamed with interest as he swiped at Blizø's legs.

Just as he was about to hit his legs, he felt a strong force applied to his body.

He slowly started to fall backward, and as he did so, his head looked to the sky, only to see the sinner's arrogant face smirking at him.

For a split second, Striker's face was covered with anger.

He tried grabbing at y/n, but he was already too high in the sky to catch him.

Y/n landed at the very top of the wall. He turned slightly to look at Striker on the floor.

Y/n: What are you doing down there, Striker? Don't you know that you need to go up, not down?

While that was happening, Blizø was climbing the wall, which y/n helped him up by pulling him up at the end.

Blizø: take that, you bitch. No one gets to make fun of my employees besides me!

Y/n side-eyes him before turning his attention back to Striker.

Y/n: better keep up. After all, no one likes last place.

While he did say that, there was no way Striker was in last place, as many other imps were behind him in the ranking.

Y/n faced backward and jumped down on the other side.

There was no way in hell he was going to lose to someone like not to a sinner of all people.

He quickly hopped onto his feet and started climbing, his nails digging into the wood with each grab.

Just as he was about to reach the top of the wall, his head peeked over, and he saw a shark on the other side jumping at him.

Striker: FUUUUCK!

A few seconds before that incident, however, as y/n had jumped down.

The shark was about to attack him, but before it did, it smelled something in the air as its pupils widened.

Y/N: That's right, buddy. If you let us pass and attack the next guy who comes up before he can even get over, I'll give you these fish I have.

It seemed to understand what he was saying, as it looked like it was begging for the fish.

Y/n: good boy.

He took some fish out of nowhere and threw them at the shark, which happily ate them up while y/n and Blizø walked by.

Y/n: Alright, Blizø, just me and you now.

Blizø: Yeah, it appears so.

Y/n: Well then, like men, let's actually race to the finish line.

Blizø: You better not cheat with your fancy sinner powers.

Y/n: Don't worry; I was already thinking about that.

The two stared each other down with a slight twitch in their lips, almost cracking a smile.

Y/n started running first while Blizø lagged behind, not expecting him to run first.

Y/n: Come on, Blizø. The last one there owns the other a drink.

Blizø: ha, you're on!

time skip

Loona and Millie stood at the end of the finishing line. Millie watched eagerly, waiting to see who would win, while Loona was just on her phone.

Millie: Hey… so what's going on between you and y/n?

The tapping sound from her fingers stopped for a few seconds before they tapped away again.

Loona: We are friends. There is nothing else to it.

Millie: Blizø and I are friends. You and y/n have a different dynamic compared to me and him.

Millie: You don't just bet to have a make-out session.

Loona shyly glanced over at Millie with a slight blush on her face.

Loona: It's just a fun small bet, that's all.

Millie: teasingly, uh, huh, sure it is.

Loona: Look, we are just close friends, alright?!

Before Millie could answer, she noticed dust flying around in the distance.

As the smoke got closer, Millie could make out the figures of two people.

It was no other than Blizø and y/n.

Y/n: Come on, Blizø, that drink is as good as mine!

Blizø: Ha, you wish!

Blizø tried kicking out y/n feet from underneath him; however, y/n jumped over just in time for him to miss.

Blizø was stuck in the kick-out motion, giving y/n ample time to run ahead of him.

Y/n was having a blast playing such a childish game. It made him wonder if he actually had a childhood. Would it have been like this?

He glanced to the side while running to notice Loona and Millie standing there, seemingly cheering him on.

Loona: Fuck yeah, Y/n beat him in this shit of a race!

Millie: Come on, Blizø, you got this!

He looked over his shoulder to see Blizø on all floors chasing after him like some kind of ravaged animal.

Blizø jumped towards y/n, his tail stretching out and wrapping around his leg, causing him to fall.

He was so close to the finish line that he needed to push himself further. Should he use his ability?

No, he promised that he would do this legit.

Blizø tried passing him; however, before he could get far, y/n grabbed his tail and tugged him back.

Y/n quickly got up and started running, making his last-ditch effort to pass the finishing line.

Blizø: No!

He tried grabbing him again, but he was too far out of reach.

Y/n finally made it past the finishing line. He raised his hands to the sky, celebrating his victory.

Loona and Millie came over towards him.

Millie: Congrats on winning the first pain game. You as well, sir!

Blizø: Calm down there, mill. You don't need to glaze me that much. But that was a good win, y/n. Had me on my toes there at the end.

Y/n: Back at ya. I was not expecting the tail there at the end.

Blizø: Always keep your eyes open when dealing with us imps.

Y/n: Woah, that was tiring… but not enough to forget are bet loona?!

Loona: Ha, you really want to lose that bad, don't you?

Y/n: Just remember who beat you in that 1v1 on MW2.

Y/n tried to leave the area with Loona so that they could play some festival. But he was stopped by Wally Wackford.

Wally Wackford: Hold on there, Mr.Sinner. You have to stay until we announce the first pain game winners.

Loona: "Snickering." Maybe we can play once you're done being the big hotshot.

Loona started walking away, her hips moving slightly as her tail hung low. It was as if she were doing it purposely.

Wally Wackford: Come on, Blizo, you as well.

Blizø: Fuuuuck

"Timeskip"

Y/n was standing to the left of the stage, along with Blitzø and, of course, the third-place winner's striker.

They had to wait a good while for everyone else, including those who were still alive, to finish the race.

When they left Millie's parents' house, it was around noon, and now it was late into the night.

Wally Wackford: Alright, you crazy folks. We have finally finished our first pain game, and it is time to announce our winners!

Stolas stood from his chair and grabbed the mic away from the imp.

Stolas: It was a close call near the end of the race, but my dear friend Y/n here came out on top in first place. Let's give him a round of applause!

Y/n walked onto the stage, waving his hand toward the crowd, but the only response he received was a few coughs.

For a moment, Y/n could feel his anxiety rising; he took a few breaths to calm himself down and tried reminding himself that this time, things were different.

He suddenly looked up when he heard clapping from Stolas.

He was…cheering for him.

Y/n smiled a little before nodding and continuing down the stage. Along the way, he could hear three other people cheering and clapping.

He looked at the three sources, seeing Millie, Blizø, and Loona cheering for him.

He shook his head with a playful smile and stopped in his spot, awaiting the next contestant.

Stolas: Now then, next up is my sweet darling blizy

Blizø: Hey, keep it in your pants!

Blizø just scuffed as he walked down the stage. Unlike y/n, this time, the crowd cheered for him.

Y/n could understand their reaction. He would do the same if a Sinner randomly showed up and beat all the imps, the players the game was made for.

Stolas: Now, last and most finally, uh, this imp Striker.

Striker: Come on, doc couldn't give me a better introduction.

He walked down the stage with a much bigger reaction than y/n and Blizø combined.

Striker's eyes were glaring at y/n. He could tell that Striker wasn't happy about his placement on the list of contestants.

Which y/n just chuckles to himself.

Wally Wackford took the mic back from Stolas to make final announcements, which were just about tomorrow's two pain games.

Wally Wackford: And that will conclude the first day of the moon harvest festival. Make sure to buy any merchandise from my store before you leave. Please, I really need the cash.

The crowd started to disperse from the main arena, heading their separate ways.

Striker took one last look at y/n before huffing out air and hastily walking away.

Blizø: teaches him to be a smart ass with my employees.

Stolas: You two put up quite a performance out there.

Blizø: Oh, Stolas, hey, how is it going?

Stolas: My evening has been quite eventful, with watching the games and my speech. But besides that, I wanted to ask you for a moment of your time, y/n.

Y/n: Oh, uh, sure. How is everything going with your divorce?

Stolas: I noticed that Stella has been acting odd since your encounter.

Y/n: Oh? Odd in a bad way?

Stolas: N-No, actually, she has been N-N-N-

Stolas seemed to be having difficulty getting the word out, almost looking like he was about to throw up.

Stolas: "Agh, I'm sorry. It's just hard to say." Cough." She was being nice to me.

Y/n: huh, interesting.

Blizø had just been standing there listening to the whole thing.

Blizø: Wait a fucking minute, when did you become such best friends.

The two just stared blankly at him for a moment.

Stolas: Haha. Oh, heavens, no. He just helped me get material to use during my divorce in the past.

Y/n: " sarcastically." What? I'm hurt, Stolas. I thought we were more than that.

Stolas: Hmm, you're quite right. You're also my daughter, dear friend, which is actually what I wanted to talk to you about.

Stolas: You see, y/n, I noticed that Octavia has been going out more often than usual, and I noticed that each of her adventures has something in common.

Y/n: That she has been going out with friends?

Stolas: "Coos." That is one way of seeing it. I'm sure she would hate it if I told you this, but Via doesn't actually have friends.

Y/n's ears perked up a little when he heard the last part.

Y/n: Really? I thought someone born as a goetia would have many friends.

Stolas: Sadly not… Via is more brilliant than she looks. She knows that any friends she might make are probably using her.

Stolas: So she chooses not to make any, but… well, that changed recently because of you.

Y/n: Me, really?

Stolas: Yes, really, ever since she met you. She's been smiling, laughing, and having much more fun than usual, which happens around you.

Stolas: I'm trying to say that you're her first real friend, so I wanted to ask if you would take her around this festival tomorrow so she can have fun.

Y/N: Stolas… of course, I would want to hang out with her. You don't even need to ask me to; I would have done it even if you hadn't asked.

Stolas: Thank you, y/n, for being her friend. You don't know how much that means to her and… me.

Stolas looks down momentarily. His hand curled up on his chest as if thinking about something before looking back at him.

Stolas: I'll have teleported her before the second and third pain games, so you have time to mess around, as you kids say.

Stolas sounded like an old man when he said things like that.

Stolas: Great, now that's out of the way. I'd better be off; I have to prepare for tomorrow. Don't go around causing too much trouble now, would you?

Blizø: Yeah, yeah, we get it. Come on, y/n. We'd better meet back up with Mills.

Y/n: right behind you.

The pair walked around for some time, looking for the others and finding them in an interesting predicament.

Loona: Come on bitch pay up. You lost the wager.

Sallie May: Now, hold your horse. There is no need to be so demanding; I got your money right here.

Y/n walks beside Millie, who is sitting on top of a fence.

Y/n: Hey… so what's happening here?

Millie: Loona was betting with my sister on who would win, and honestly, I'm surprised my sister is actually really good at betting. So, for her to lose is a huge shock.

Y/n: Dam Loona you won?

Loona: You bet your cute ass I did.

It took Loona a moment to register the words she had just said to everyone.

Loona:" Blushing hard" Nobody heard shit! Understand me. Agh y/n!

Y/n: Y-Yeah?

Loona: I hope you will be ready to lose tomorrow.

Y/n: yeah sure…

Blizø: welp, besides that outburst from Loo-

Loona: Shut it, Blizø!

Blizø: "Ahem." Now, I think it's about time we head back and get some sleep. We have more games to win tomorrow, y/n.

Y/n only wanted sleep, but no, he had to wake up and participate in the pain games. Talk about a force plot.

sometime later

They returned to Millie's family home just as the night sky began to take over.

Y/n returned to the closet, prepared to sleep like he had the night before. However, before he could do so, one imp called out to him as they walked over.

Millie: Hey, Y/n, wait up!

Y/n: Uh, what's up? Millie, do you need something?

Millie: Do you want a bed to sleep in tonight?

Y/n: If there is a spare, then sure.

Millie: Hehe, it's not a spare, silly. I'm asking if you want to sleep with me tonight.
