"It's been a while since I last contacted Little Peter..." Soon, Wade left the bounty point, muttering to himself, "I wonder how Little Peter is getting along with Venom. When we meet later, I hope he won't throw dirt in my eyes."
With that, Wade began trying to contact Peter Parker. Since their last unpleasant encounter and seeing Venom attach itself to Peter, Wade had avoided reaching out. He knew Venom's influence would inevitably change Peter, so he held off on contacting him for a long time.
However, Peter Parker hadn't been having an easy time lately. As mentioned before, the dark supernatural world had many people taking on bounties against the Avengers. Among the Avengers, Tony Stark and Peter Parker were the most well-known, attracting the most supernatural individuals seeking to take them down.
Tony Stark had it slightly better, mainly staying at the Avengers' base, and even when outside, he was heavily protected by numerous suits. Opportunities for supernatural beings to strike were limited, especially given Tony's special status, which made it hard for outsiders to get close enough for an effective attack.
But it was different for Peter Parker. He'd been very busy lately. After discovering Venom, he was either helping research it or dealing with supernatural threats. This had kept him from being New York's friendly neighborhood Spider-Man for a while.
Taking advantage of a pause in dealing with vampires and werewolves, Peter returned to his role as the friendly neighborhood Spider-Man. It was during this time that supernatural individuals from the dark world targeted him.
These supernatural beings used various methods. Some didn't bother hiding their presence, and Peter, with Venom's help, dealt with them on the spot. In this world, after experiencing so many supernatural events, Peter had no no-kill principle. He might hold back a little against ordinary criminals, but against supernatural beings, he had killed countless numbers during various events. He knew that only by killing them could he completely eliminate future dangers.
The ones who directly attacked Peter were easier to deal with, but those who hid their identities were more challenging. Even with his near-erratic spider sense, Peter couldn't detect all malicious individuals. There were means in the supernatural world to obscure his spider sense.
Thus, one day, while helping an old lady cross the street, Peter was stabbed. If not for his spider sense warning him at the last moment, he would have been pierced through the heart and fallen dead on the spot. Avengers weren't dimension creatures or powerful beings like demons or lords. While they were strong, there was still a big gap in the level of life.
In the Avengers, apart from a few like the Martian Manhunter who could survive severe heart injuries, others could at best hold on for a while. Relying on their recovery abilities to heal such wounds was impossible.
Tony Stark, for instance, would struggle to survive without timely medical intervention.
Peter Parker was lucky, not because he was immune to such injuries, but because he had Venom inside him. Even when Peter's body was severely injured, Venom could control his body, helping him heal while counterattacking.
The supernatural individual who stabbed Peter hadn't initially paid much attention, feeling confident after drawing blood. But when he prepared to strike again, he was horrified to see Peter's black suit turn into a monster, swallowing him whole.
"Whoa?! A monster! Where's Spider-Man? He was just here helping an old lady cross the street, right? Now they're both gone. Let's get out of here…"
Since it happened on a busy street, some people saw Venom's monstrous form. Fortunately, not many noticed the transformation. Still, Venom couldn't stay long. If anyone pieced together what happened and suspected Peter, it would be troublesome.
Especially since an old lady turning into a monster and attacking wouldn't be believable to the public. It could cause a public relations disaster as significant as the vampire and werewolf incidents.
So, Venom quickly controlled Peter's body to leave, not noticing a supernatural individual in a corner, eyes gleaming, recording the event on his phone, muttering, "With this video, I'll make a fortune, even without attacking Spider-Man. But first, I need to negotiate with those rich vampires…"
Meanwhile, Venom returned to the Avengers base. When the Avengers saw the wound on Peter's chest, their faces darkened. But after checking and seeing the wound healing under Venom's control, and that it hadn't reached the heart, they relaxed and put Peter in a healing chamber.
"Peter was ambushed too? Who did it?" Tony Stark asked, frowning, having been ambushed himself a few times. "What kind of person was it? How did they manage to do it?"
"That guy disguised himself as an old lady, looking frail. Peter helped her cross the street, and she stabbed him. The knife had some strange power, so Peter didn't react immediately. It wasn't until the knife was in his body that his spider sense warned him, and he narrowly avoided a heart injury," Venom said, appearing with a head, speaking helplessly.
"Such a powerful method? Neither your senses nor spider sense detected it? What happened to the guy?" Tony Stark frowned more deeply. Such an ability could threaten most Avengers, and he had to be cautious.
"I ate him…" Venom said carefully, "The situation was too urgent. He was about to attack Peter again, so I had to swallow him. He's dead but not fully digested. Do you want to check?"
"By the way, it happened on a busy street. Although it seems like no one noticed me swallowing him, you should still investigate to prevent a big scandal…"
"You!" Tony Stark's face darkened at the thought of Venom eating someone, a concept he found hard to accept, even if it was an enemy. But hearing it happened in public, his expression changed, and he quickly instructed Jarvis, "Jarvis! Block all related information! Replay the battle footage for me. I need to see how urgent the situation really was!"
"Yes, sir." Jarvis responded, swiftly blocking potential surveillance and retrieving nearby footage.
When Tony saw Peter being stabbed, the old lady's malicious gaze, and Venom swiftly swallowing her, leaving immediately, minimizing the impact, he had to admit the urgency. If Venom hadn't acted, Peter might not have survived. And even if Venom hadn't struck quickly, it wouldn't have ended easily, as no one knew what other tricks the attacker might have had.
"Just this once! Never again! Jarvis, did anyone record the footage?" Tony Stark warned Venom, then asked Jarvis.
"Sir, someone was recording with a phone, looking very excited and muttering…" Jarvis quickly showed the footage, "I'm checking the database, but there are no records of this person, like their appearance was never registered…"
"Another supernatural individual? What was he saying?" Tony Stark's frown deepened, his expression serious. The Avengers needed to handle this well; otherwise, repeated incidents would erode their public trust, even if they were justified.
Despite the illogical nature of accusations against them, public opinion could still turn against the Avengers over time.
"With this video, I'll make a fortune, even without attacking Spider-Man. But first, I need to negotiate with those rich vampires…" Jarvis' powerful computation revealed the individual's words from their lip movements.
"Just as I thought!" Tony Stark's eyes flashed with realization, feeling the trouble ahead. Since the person was also supernatural, the Avengers would have a hard time finding him. If the video reached the vampires, it would be a significant issue.
"Try to track him. See if you can find his location!" Tony Stark instructed, thinking of a solution.
"Wade is calling, asking for Spider-Man…" As Jarvis searched the surveillance, Peter's direct line rang.
"Answer it." Tony Stark hesitated, then nodded. Wade, being part of the dark supernatural world, might be helpful.
"Hehe, Little Peter, long time no see. Have you missed me?" Wade's cheeky voice made Tony's face darken.
"This is Tony Stark. Peter isn't awake yet…" Tony said, annoyed.
"Oh my god?!" Wade exclaimed in disbelief, then lowered his voice, "I didn't expect Mr. Stark to be into this. Are you trying to buff yourself? Don't worry, if you pay enough, I won't tell. Oh! And if you want to buff yourself, I can spread the word tomorrow!"
"Shut up! Peter's injured, undergoing treatment!" Tony snapped, "Why are you calling?"
"Injured?!" Wade's voice rose, "Who did it? Wait! Was it those bounty hunters? Damn, they have guts!"
"You know about the bounty?" Tony was surprised, quickly asking.
"I saw the bounty and called Peter, but I guess I was a bit late…" Wade said, dissatisfied.
"Not too late! If you know the bounty points, can you help find someone? He has a video of Peter that can't be released. If you retrieve it, I'll pay you handsomely!" Tony's eyes gleamed, interrupting Wade.
"That guy is probably heading to trade with the vampires, so act fast…"
"Leave it to me! Send me the info. If he's alive, he can't escape me!" Wade's eyes lit up at the prospect of earning money and discovering what was in Peter's "unreleasable" video.
