Chapter 21 - Chapter 21: Humanoid Tank

"Men, charge with me."

"Kill them, tear Bai Ye to pieces!"

A large group of pirates sprinted through the streets of the Royal Capital. The civilians, upon seeing this, screamed and ran away.

As the pirates rushed toward the Royal Palace, the ruthless ones started setting fires along the way.

The sky outside the city lit up with flames, and soon, thick smoke billowed inside the city as well.

Su Xiao moved swiftly through the night, quickly overtaking the pirates and arriving in front of the Royal Palace ahead of them.

In the Pirate World, the Goa Kingdom was just a small country, so the Royal Palace was nothing more than a modestly sized castle.

Hiding near the kingdom, Su Xiao began waiting for the Klick Pirate Group.

The Royal Capital was divided into three areas: the outermost was the residential area, followed by Center Street, and at the very center was the Royal Palace.

Outside the Royal Palace area, there was a city wall, but it wasn't very high. The Klick Pirate Group would soon be able to break through it and storm into the Royal Palace area.

The Guard Team in the Royal Palace area had already been deployed, and soon, sounds of battle cries were heard.

Su Xiao continued to wait. According to his knowledge, the Guard Team in the Royal Palace area looked strong on the outside but was weak inside. Those guards, who had rarely seen blood, were no match for the pirates.

And indeed, just half an hour later, the guards in the Royal Palace area were defeated and retreated to the front of the palace.

These guards were extremely battered, hurried, and suffered heavy casualties. Some of the incompetent ones even fled on the spot.

"Men, the Royal Palace is right ahead, let's take it."

Klick was already seeing red, being tricked by Su Xiao and fighting all the way made this pirate utterly mad.

"Kill everyone, leave no one alive."

At Klick's command, the hundreds of pirates behind him charged loudly towards the Royal Palace to engage with the guards.

The most brutal close-quarters combat began, with the sound of gunfire like popping beans, blood splattered, and limbs fell.

Inside the Royal Palace, the King, who had been resting, was awakened by the commotion outside the castle.

The King of the Goa Kingdom was a man in his sixties, with a head of black hair and a big beard.

"What's happening outside, why is it suddenly so noisy?"

King Philip Herbert got up somewhat impatiently, and the Queen beside him sat up in confusion.

"Your Highness, it seems like gunfire outside, what's happening?"

The Queen was very young and timidly nestled in the King's arms.

"Someone, come."

The bedroom door was pushed open, and a burly man charged in, with a deep scar across his entire face, making him look especially fierce.

"Hau Sen, what's going on outside?"

The burly man called Hau Sen was the King's personal guard.

But around Hau Sen's neck was a metal collar, made of black iron, with some precise mechanisms at the connection.

If Su Xiao were present, he would surely recognize this collar as a slave collar from the Pirate World.

This Hau Sen was a slave, his life and death in the King's hands, no wonder the King made him a personal guard.

Hau Sen didn't speak, he just made a few gestures.

Hau Sen had no speaking ability; his tongue had been cut out by a slave trader. If not for his abnormally strong physique, he might have been killed by them.

"Pirates? How can there be pirates inside the Royal Palace? Right Minister, go send people to take care of these pirates."

Although the King felt something was amiss, he didn't pay much attention, apparently very confident in the palace's guard strength.

Hau Sen stood motionless in the room, the slave collar around his neck restricting his freedom, capable of being triggered to explode, which would kill him.

Outside the Royal Palace, Su Xiao was waiting for the right opportunity.

The time wasn't right yet, even though the battle inside the palace was intense, it hadn't reached its climax.

After about an hour of fierce fighting, the King in the palace could no longer remain calm, sensing the shouting and killing getting closer.

At this moment, the King realized the gravity of the situation.

With a bang, the bedroom door was smashed open, and the Right Minister, covered in blood, burst into the room.

"Your Highness, there's trouble. The pirates have come, and they're already on the third floor."

The King's face changed dramatically.

"Impossible, where are my guards? Weren't they handpicked elites, how could they be pushed back so easily?"

The Right Minister knelt on the ground, completely curled up, not daring to speak up.

The palace guards were not elites at all, merely some young men hired at great cost.

"Hau Sen, go, wait~."

The King looked troubled, Hau Sen was indeed strong, but if he sent Hau Sen out, his own safety was not guaranteed.

Yet, if he didn't send Hau Sen, those pirates would soon be at his doorstep, and bullets had no eyes.

"Deal with those pirates as quickly as possible, then return immediately. Even if you're injured, it doesn't matter, understand?

If I die, you'll be buried with me."

Hau Sen's eyes showed no emotion, just a blank nod, then he left the room.

Waiting outside the Royal Palace, Su Xiao soon heard a loud explosion from inside the palace, and a large area of purple poison gas spread on the third floor.

"Finally, the moment I've been waiting for."

Su Xiao sprang up, like a gecko climbing against the castle's outer wall.

Nimbly climbing upward, Su Xiao directly bypassed the third floor.

The battle was taking place on the third floor, so the King couldn't be below it.

Upon reaching the third floor, Su Xiao saw through a window that two people were engaged in combat: Klick and the burly man.

Surprisingly, Klick was in bad shape, with an arm hanging limp, seemingly unable to hold on much longer.

The burly man was like a human tank, each charge shattering large sections of walls. If Su Xiao fought such a monster, he wouldn't last two minutes.

Not directly assassinating the King was undoubtedly correct; fighting this kind of enemy was courting death.

This burly man's power attribute was conservatively estimated to be over 20 points.

Klick couldn't hold on much longer, so time was of the essence, and Su Xiao had to act quickly.

There were many rooms in the palace, and Su Xiao rapidly checked through the windows.

No sign of the King on the fourth floor, then the fifth, sixth...

After a swift search, Su Xiao finally spotted the King via a window.

The King wasn't in a room but rather fleeing down a corridor, seemingly trying to escape to higher ground to reduce the chance of being discovered by pirates.

The continuous vibrations from below the castle had rattled the King.

White moonlight streamed through the windows, and the King ran swiftly down the corridor.

"Your Highness, huff~ I, I can't run anymore, let's take a break."

The Queen, following the King in flight, sat on the ground gasping for breath.

The King's expression changed repeatedly. He still had some interest in this woman, so he was reluctant to abandon her, but compared to his life, women meant little to him.

"Then rest here, my love."

Saying that, the King prepared to turn and leave, abandoning the Queen, who sat dumbfounded on the ground.

Just then, with a crash, the glass window beside the corridor shattered, and a figure wielding a sharp blade burst through.
