"Uncle, how long is 'a while'?" Baili Xia persisted, continuing to ask.
Mu Xiaojiu's palm tightened suddenly, and he turned his head to glance at her.
That look was so cold it almost made her shiver uncontrollably.
A chill ran over her skin, all of it induced by his aura.
"Until you no longer need to live here."
He huffed again and quickened his pace, clearly intending to leave her behind.
Baili Xia wanted to follow, but Di Ran stepped forward next to her and blocked her path.
"Mr. Xiaojiu doesn't want you to follow." It was so obvious, even she could see it.
Baili Xia felt a bit disheartened; she of course knew Uncle didn't want her to tag along.
But, she was troubled by what he had just said.
To stay until she no longer needed to live here—she really couldn't understand what Uncle meant by that.
Di Ran's gaze, however, moved past her and landed on someone rushing over behind her.
Looking at him, her expression immediately softened.
