Chapter 265 - Chapter 259: To Mars

-----

Alien letters in the moon.

Yes, that sounded pretty weird, something some conspiracy theorist would come out with.

But there it was, a huge, silver-colored tablet imprinted into the moonstone, with several white-colored letters.

They looked strange, like a combination of geometric shapes, unrecognizable.

I had mostly mastered all the languages on Earth by researching a little bit once I returned, and I could speak, read, and write them easily.

And that was most likely due to the available information and so on… But this became quite a challenge; no matter how much I tried to comprehend, nothing came to mind.

"I could probably decipher this eventually after some time of research, but…" I muttered. "I suppose I should send this to an alien friend we've made."

"Alien friend?" Kalana asked. "Who?"

"Ah, it must be that guy that resembles our kind?" Wondered Mursha.

"I-I wouldn't say Martians resemble Orcs, aside from the green skin…" I sighed. "But perhaps you could call him that. Yes, I'm referring to him, Martian Man. Or, well, his true name, which is Karel…"

"Karel!" Kalana nodded. "I haven't seen him or talked to him before… Has Mama done so?"

"I only saw him briefly, but I haven't talked with him either," Mursha said. "He seems like kind of a strange guy. A bit creepy."

"He's just a troubled man; he simply is… well, rather emotionless? But Martians are actually quite emotional; it's just how he is," I explained. "I suppose that's the difference between aliens from other planets within the cosmos and the humanoid races we find in the tower; despite how different we could be, there are a lot of similarities as well that we don't share with aliens from outer space, such as Karel, although we could even say he's the alien that's closest to being our neighbor, living right next to Earth…"

"Oh wow! Can't we go visit the Martians once we get to Mars then, mama?" Kalana wondered.

"Unfortunately, I heard from Galaxy Man that the Martians went extinct; there was some sort of huge catastrophe," I explained. "Karel is the last survivor of their kind…"

"The last survivor?" wondered Mursha. "That's… I suppose we aren't that different at the end."

Mursha wasn't the last orc to exist, but she was indeed (formerly) the last member of the Blood Fang Orc Tribe, who had their own culture and special characteristics compared to other orcs, namely their red hair and red eyes.

However, with the birth of our little treasure, Kalana, right here, she was no longer the last member of her tribe, and perhaps in the future Kalana might be blessed with more orc siblings… perhaps.

Or, well, in the far future, she could even make her own family and continue the Blood Fang Tribe as well! Who knows?

Anyway…

FLASH!

I quickly scanned the entire tablet and then sent it towards Karel through a doppelganger that was near New York, where he and the other heroes settled in my home.

"Mommy, are there more tablets like these?" Wondered Kalana.

"I don't think so. I just ran a scan through the moon, and there aren't any more… It's a bit hot down there, though!" I said. "But there doesn't seem to be anything, not even life here… I believe."

"Aw, that's a pity!" Said Kalana. "I wanted to meet aliens!"

"You can meet Martian Man anytime you want, haha," I giggled.

"No, he's boring!" Kalana complained, mostly based on her mother's opinion of him.

Children sure love just imitating everything their parents say or think, huh?

"He's not boring, geez…"

As I rolled my eyes, I walked back with the rest of my family; we regrouped and then explored a bit more around but found nothing interesting aside from some interesting ores and stones that don't grow on Earth.

There were also some new magical ores that had begun appearing… I think the Mana within Earth's atmosphere has begun spreading outside, reaching the Moon first; its interior certainly has a lot of Mana and Spirit Energy accumulated inside.

No life has been born, though, mostly due to the hostile conditions, but there are some new magical ores that, once I analyzed them using the System, were called Moonstone and Moon Spirit Crystals.

As we flew outside the moon towards Mars, Yanisse looked back at the moon with a gentle smile.

"I wonder if magical beasts will one day inhabit it? Now that there's Mana and Spirit Energy inside…"

"Maybe? Who knows… Perhaps in another realm or plane, the moon is inhabited."

Well, there's "another side" to all we see, which would be the Spiritual Plane, a world I have barely investigated myself that exists as a secondary layer of reality beneath our own.

It's strange and warped, but it exists within the same physical areas of our surroundings, and it probably expands all the way here to the moon.

Perhaps the Spiritual Plane has something interesting to see, but this entire plane was alien and gigantic and had little correlation with reality, so I left it there and didn't bother exploring it because of how desolate everything felt.

But I believe that's where Orion is staying, and where the Primal Spider Goddess is as well…

Seeing how he took care of the Primal Dinosaur God, he might do the same with her and find where the rest of that dinosaur bastard went off.

So for now, I think it should be fine to leave it there, with my son there; I don't really need to worry about that place.

"And here we are, everyone!"

After a few minutes of boringly flying through the empty space at high speeds, we arrived at Mars, or, well, the above area, where we could admire its cosmic, crimson beauty.

A desolate land that has now become nothing but a dry desert…

Once a beautiful world filled with life where the Martians once lived, it has now become nothing but a dry wasteland.

To think Earth could one day become like this, or imagining Mars like it once was… It kind of makes me realize just how truly connected these two planets are.
