"I vote myself as a candidate!" I said as the faces of Seiten and Mio instantly crumbled.
"Tch, Fine then! Since it has come to this and all of us got equal votes, I say we all compete against each other to decide the team leader." Mio said looking between Seiten and me.
Seiten nodded while I was silent. I still was conflicted about what to do, whether I should let either of these two become our team leader or I should become one instead. I really was not interested in either the options since letting two idiots control me would surely lead to disaster while I am too lazy to become one as a leader would have more work to do apart from the usual.
Having no leader is also out of option since without a team leader or someone to command the team, the team would succumb to enemy's surprise attacks. after all in a critical situation, every member of the team has to work together and form a strong team work which is not possible without a team leader.
Other then that, there might be one more way. I had read it in one of the fan-fics in my old world where all members of the team would take turns in becoming team leader and to be honest, this feels like the best option to me since even though these two would become team leaders in this option, at least they will only be temporary ones and I would also have to only do the work of a team leader once every three missions so it felt perfect. But the real problem is, how to get them to agree on it.
"I propose that we should all start a competition and whoever wins would become the leader of our team." While I was thinking my options through, Mio suddenly announced.
"Wait! I have a proposal!" I spoke. I had to bring my idea up to them to see there reaction and doing it sooner would be better then letter.
""..."" They looked at me and waited to hear what I had to say.
"How about we all become team leaders? We can take turns in leading the team on different missions!" I said as they both looked at me incredibly.
"...All of us...?"
"...become team leaders?"
They repeated after me as their eyes that had shock written in them slowly turned into amusment. Their lips formed smiles and their body started trembling.
""Hahhahaha!"" And they both burst out laughing.
Seeing them like that I also smiled. I should have expected a reaction like that since there are no teams that do this kind of practice, it is weird hearing it.
"Hahaha...Karan, are you really good in your head?"
"Heheh...did he hurt his head on the previous mission?" Seiten and Mio both asked me.
"Just tell me if you agree or not." I asked already expecting there answer.

I already should have expected it but it is fine. At least now I know what they think of the idea. It looks like it's going to be hard to convince them to agree to this...I have to find another way to make them agree.

After deciding that, we came across another problem. Since we three are going to be participating in this competition, no one from us can organize this competition and we have to bring someone else as the event organizer who will be the one preparing things like question papers for our first competition or determine the theme of the next one. And who could have guessed that it would be our good old, Riku sensei!
Well, we went to the academy and asked him to be our competition organizer and he happily agreed after knowing that the competition is to choose the next leader of our team. After we dumped all our work on Riku sensei, we all parted ways and I headed home. The first competition would be a test to check our knowledge and would be a written test. It would be held on the day after tomorrow at the training ground 16. Mio and Seiten both went to the library to study for this test but I went home since I had to plan my next action. My goal was to somehow make all of us the winners of one competition each. which would be a lot harder then just winning this whole thing by myself.
Now that there are only three competition as well as three competitors, I had to just let all of us win one of these competition each. By all of us winning one competition each, a tie would be the outcome of these whole thing and after that once again I will try to convince them of my idea of taking turns in being the leader. Though, I have a feeling that even after that, they will refuse and just start another competition.
"Urg...what do I do?" Thinking like they will not listen even after a tie becomes the outcome of this entire race, I became depressed.
[How about involving sensei in all this?] I heard Gaya speaking in my head.
"Involve sensei?"

"So you are in?" I asked but his smile already gave me my answer.
"Yes. But you have to be the one to make all three of you winners of one competition each. I will only support you and that is all."
"That is still fine, sensei. I only want you to convince them, you supporting me is just a bonus."
"Alright then. If you want me to do something, then come to me."
"Yes. See you soon, sensei."
