In the room a shadow seem to walk out of Klaus body, undoing the possession but having the preparator appear in form of a Shadow. The shadow walked towards Dr Maru devoid of her previous eerie presence and carefully caressed her face " thought you would never seek me out".
Dr Maru still shaken in fear just stood rooted to the ground. She more than anyone knew how unpredictable her mother was and seeing her appear before her in a shadow form proved how much stronger she had gotten since the last time the had met.
" You wish to save the girl and also regrow her limbs but in the process you almost cost yourself welcoming a doom"
Mama Mia's shadowy form seemed to solidify, her presence still eerie but now more defined. Her eyes gleamed with an otherworldly intensity as she gazed at Dr. Maru, who stood frozen in fear.
"Fertile soil," Mama Mia's voice whispered, her words barely audible but laced with an unmistakable authority. "Bring me fertile soil, rich with the essence of life. And a vial of Klaus's blood."
Dr. Maru nodded hastily, her eyes darting to her assistant, who quickly retrieved the requested items. The vial of Klaus's blood was handed to Mama Mia, who carefully poured its contents onto the severed limbs.
The air was heavy with anticipation as Mama Mia began to chant, her words weaving a spell of revival. The soil seemed to come alive, tendrils of dark earth wrapping around the root like limbs like tentative fingers. The atmosphere pulsed with an otherworldly energy, as if the very essence of life was being coaxed back into the severed flesh.
As the spell progressed, the limbs began to twitch, their pale skin slowly regaining a hint of warmth. Dr. Maru watched in awe, her witch powers straining to keep pace with Mama Mia's mastery.
But just as the limbs seemed about to reattach, a chill wind swept through the room, and wraith spirits materialized out of thin air. Their ethereal forms seemed to writhe and twist, their presence like a cold, dark shroud.
Dr. Maru's eyes widened in alarm as she raised her hands, her fingers weaving intricate patterns to ward off the wraiths. Her helper stood beside Klaus, reciting a spell in a low, steady voice, the words acting as a barrier to keep the wraiths at bay.
The air was thick with tension as Mama Mia continued her spell, her focus unwavering despite the sudden interruption. The soil seemed to drink in Klaus's blood, and the limbs began to reattach, their flesh knitting together with an unnatural speed.
Rose's body arched, her eyes flashing open as the wraiths seemed to sense her presence. They drifted closer, their forms coalescing into twisted, ghostly faces. Dr. Maru's spell strained to hold them back, but it was clear she couldn't keep this up for much longer.
Mama Mia's eyes gleamed with a fierce light as she finished her spell. The limbs were fully reattached, and Rose's body relaxed, her chest rising and falling with a steady breath.
The wraiths seemed to sense their opportunity slipping away, and they surged forward, their forms blurring together in a mad dash for Rose's vulnerable soul. Dr. Maru's spell faltered, and the wraiths would have overwhelmed her if not for Mama Mia's sudden intervention.
With a wave of her hand, Mama Mia sent the wraiths reeling back, her power like a dark, protective shield around Rose. The atmosphere slowly returned to normal, the tension dissipating as the wraiths vanished into nothingness.
As the room fell silent, Dr. Maru turned to Mama Mia, her eyes filled with a mix of gratitude and wariness. "Thank you," she whispered, her voice barely audible.
Mama Mia's shadowy form seemed to nod, her presence still intense but now more measured. "The girl is not yet safe," she warned. "The process has only just begun. You would do well to tread carefully, Maru."
With that, Mama Mia's shadowy form began to dissipate, leaving Dr. Maru to ponder the weight of her words. The road ahead would be fraught with danger, and Dr. Maru knew she would need all her wits and cunning to navigate the treacherous path she had chosen.
The assistant moved sluggishly, their eyes heavy with exhaustion as they began to clean up the lab. The air was thick with the weight of the recent spellcasting, and the scent of Klaus's blood lingered, metallic and potent. Dr. Maru, meanwhile, stood tall, her eyes fixed intently on the next course of action to be taken. She held a scapula in her hand, its smooth surface gleaming in the dim light of the lab. With precise, deliberate strokes, she began to carve intricate inscriptions on each side of the room.
The symbols seemed to shimmer and glow with a soft, blue light as she worked, filling the air with a subtle hum of magic. The assistant watched listlessly, their movements mechanical as they tidied up the remnants of the spellcasting. Outside, a stark contrast unfolded. The morning sun shone brightly, casting a warm glow over the landscape. Yet, despite the radiant light, a chill wind swept through the streets, leaving everyone feeling the cold. People bundled up, wrapping coats tightly around themselves as they hurried to find warmth.
The lab, however, remained insulated from the outside world, its atmosphere dense with the weight of magic and anticipation. Dr. Maru finished the final inscription, her eyes gleaming with satisfaction as she stepped back to survey her work. The symbols pulsed softly, a protective barrier against the wraiths that had threatened to overwhelm them. The assistant leaned against the counter, their eyes drifting closed as exhaustion claimed them.
Dr. Maru's gaze flicked to the assistant, concern etched on her face. She knew the risks of pushing oneself too far, especially when dealing with powerful magic. With a gentle touch, she guided the assistant to a nearby chair, easing them into a sitting position. "Rest," she whispered, her voice soft with concern. "We'll need you strong for what's to come."
As the assistant slumped forward, Dr. Maru turned her attention to Rose, who lay still on the central table. The girl's chest rose and fell with a steady breath, her body reattached and whole once more. But Dr. Maru knew the journey was far from over. Mama Mia's words echoed in her mind - "The girl is not yet safe" - and she steeled herself for the challenges ahead. The road would be fraught with danger, but with her wits, cunning, and the protective inscriptions, Dr. Maru was determined to navigate the dangerous road and keep Rose safe.
