Chapter 35 - Chapter 33: Wamy's Franchise

During a sudden and unexpected audience with Ares, an uncontrollable burst of laughter seized Wamy.

Ares: "Who allowed an ignorant like you to laugh in the midst of a divine conversation?!"

Wamy immediately stopped laughing and turned to Mü Thanatos.

Wamy: "Goddess, pay no attention to this simpleton. There is nothing divine in his words!"

Mü Thanatos looked at Wamy with rare emotion, touched by his words.

Mü Thanatos: "Oh... Wamy!"

Ares, with a contemptuous tone: "This stupid advisor dares to ignore me?"

Wamy held Ares's gaze, his expression hardening.

Wamy: "Forgive me, but you seem lost in the wrong world. This is a sacred place, full of divinity, inhabited simply by gods!"

Ares: "Ridiculous. I am a god, and you are but a servant. You should be silent!"

Wamy, excitedly, replied:

Wamy: "Haha! Who gave you the status of god? You are no better than me, a mere divine advisor, nothing more!"

Ares clenched his teeth, fists tight with rage.

Ares: "Was it Mü Thanatos who raised you so poorly, wretch?!"

These words barely touched Wamy, making him even more unyielding.

Wamy: "How dare you speak so to a true goddess? You who possess nothing more than I!"

Ares: "What makes you believe I am not a god?"

With an enigmatic smile, Wamy calmly answered.

Wamy: "Because you dared to question the Father of the gods. That is impossible!"

Ares, disconcerted: "What? How?"

Wamy: "Unlike you, imperfect, the Father of the gods and the other deities are perfect."

Ares frowned.

Ares: "According to you, a god is perfect?"

Wamy: "Yes, a god never doubts his ideas. The perfect does not question himself. I am not a god, but I live for a goddess. For billions of years, I have been close to this divine presence. So I am not mistaken in saying you are not a god, at least not currently. Ares, you surpass me in nothing!"

Mü Thanatos was dazzled by Wamy's determination, so unlike Ares.

Ares: "I see..."

He approached Wamy, a murderous aura emanating from him, ready to fight.

Wamy, far from intimidated, wore a disturbing, almost mad smile of a man ready to battle.

However, the extreme tension vanished when Mü Thanatos gently took Wamy's hand.

Mü Thanatos: "Let's go back, Wamy. Ignore him."

Ares stopped abruptly.

Ares: "What?"

Wamy, surprised: "But goddess, he dared insult you in my presence!"

Mü Thanatos, serene: "It doesn't matter. We leave."

Wamy's gaze, both stunned and admiring, turned red, the whites of his eyes blackening.

Wamy: "Understood, goddess. Let's go."

With a gesture, they disappeared.

Ares: "Pfff... It's only a matter of time. Soon, Mü Thanatos and her incompetent advisor will vanish forever..."

He turned away and vanished as well.

Meanwhile, on the land ruled by Zara, the sovereign savored happiness with Schiba. They shared a meal, and Schiba recounted his adventures.

Though Zara already knew every detail, she skillfully feigned ignorance.

Schiba: "...That's why I live in a cabin. Tell me, Zara, where do you come from?"

Zara hesitated.

Zara: "From quite nearby, actually..."

Schiba: "Really? Then I must have crossed paths with you before?"

Zara: "I don't think so. I was discreet. But I often watched you."

Schiba, troubled by Zara's celestial beauty, struggled to find words.

Schiba: "Uh... Zara, I wanted to tell you that... No, it's nothing."

Too shy, he preferred to stay silent.

Zara: "Are you sure it's nothing?"

Schiba: "Yes... Well, no... Never mind."

Zara smiled, locking eyes with him.

Zara: "Schiba, come closer, please."

Schiba timidly obeyed.

Zara: "A little more..."

Their faces were now only ten centimeters apart. Zara gently placed her hands on Schiba's cheeks and gave him a fleeting kiss on the lips.

Zara: "I had a wonderful evening, Schiba. Thank you for this meal."

Schiba, stunned: "Uh... okay..."

Zara left the cabin, leaving Schiba in a dazed happiness. When he wanted to follow her, she had already disappeared.

In the world of the gods, Apollo prepared to carry out the mission entrusted by Zeus. Thanks to his omnipresence, he easily located the demons responsible for the divine anger.

Apollo: "Wait... Aren't these demons supposed to transcend existence itself? How can they be so vulnerable to my omnipresence? No matter, I like the risk. If this is a trap, they will bitterly regret it."

In an instant, he found himself in the realm of myths, facing a sinister castle covered in cobwebs.

Apollo: "What horror! Demons have always had questionable taste..."

He pushed the door open and entered. The interior, filled with misshapen skulls and skeletons, did not impress him. He remained the supreme commander of the primordial gods.

A demon appeared, but Apollo, impassive, reduced it to dust without a move. Thousands of other demons threw themselves at him, only to be instantly disintegrated, whether attacking or fleeing.

Apollo: "Why waste time? Let's get to the point!"

He extended his hand, materializing a splendid golden spear. The spear, guided by its own will, pierced the structures of the realm until it reached an abnormal being. Apollo smiled, hand on his weapon.

Apollo: "At last, I have you."

The pierced being struggled in vain.

Apollo: "No use fighting. Once pierced by my spear, you become as vulnerable as a newborn..."

The demon, spitting blood, sneered:

"What a calamity... I am vulnerable, yes, but I remain a primordial demon, incapable of dying!"

Apollo, disdainful:

Apollo: "You don't know what a primordial god is. The laws are ours. The weapons of the primordial gods have three authorities: torture, degradation, and absolute submission."

Authority of torture: condemns the victim to eternal, incurable suffering, damaging their fundamental source until the destruction of the Chōshinkū.

Authority of degradation: reduces the victim to {Nothingness}, annihilating all their abilities and powers.

Authority of absolute submission to Delzluhûd: the victim's fundamental source dissolves into the god's will, enslaving them completely.

No protection is possible against these weapons, except another primordial weapon.

Beings surpassing Satyaloka gain superior blessings and immunities, but primordial weapons destroy even these protections. Only primordial gods remain invulnerable to their own blessings.

The demon, sneering:

"You cannot take away my consciousness, can you?"

Apollo: "Certainly, your true body resides in the dhama, but this spear will always find you. It tracks its target through the centuries; no one can escape it..."

The demon, terrified: "What?"

Apollo: "This realm is not normal. Explain its nature to me."

The demon, under torture, finally yielded.

"The realm is composed of two spaces: the upper, finite, and the lower, infinite. It is structured to devour the power of intruders, but that does not seem to affect you... The demons at the entrance were supposed to neutralize intruders."

Apollo burst out laughing.

Apollo: "Ridiculous... Are you the one who insulted Zeus? What is your name?"

"No, not me. I am called Arophile."

Apollo: "You are not the murderer of Gilead either?"

Arophile: "I have never killed a god..."

Apollo: "No matter. By my authority, I heal you of the wound inflicted by my spear."

The wound closed immediately.

Apollo: "Follow me, or I will send you into your worst nightmares."

Arophile: "Understood..."

Apollo, followed by Arophile, left the realm.

At Zara's sanctuary, the goddess, seated on her throne, contemplated Schiba's universal sphere. A thousand thoughts assailed her.

If only I were human... I wouldn't think like this...

A knock sounded at her sanctuary door.

Zara (whispering): "Apollo again, or another god... What do they want from me? Let them forget me, for heaven's sake..."

Then loudly:

Zara: "Enter."

The door opened. Zara, focused on the sphere, recognized the respectful and refined voice of the visitor.

The intruder: "Hello, lord Zara. You look radiant this morning; I hope you are well?"

Zara, surprised by this unprecedented visit, dropped the universal sphere.

Zara: "Oh! Wamy, what a surprise! What brings you here?"

Wamy: "Careful, lord Zara. If that sphere breaks, the universe it contains will be destroyed!"

Zara, delighted, replied:

Zara: "Don't worry, I can always rebuild it. But tell me, Wamy, what is the reason for your visit? Did Mü Thanatos send you?"

Wamy nodded.

Wamy: "Exactly. She worries about you, but her new reign keeps her busy. She will come later when she gains confidence."

Zara: "I understand perfectly. I am well, and your visit fills me with joy. Thank you, Wamy."

Wamy, blushing: "Oh... Haha, the pleasure is mine, lord Zara."

Then he disappeared.

Zara: "I am so happy... I will see Schiba."

She disappeared as well, entering the sphere. But chaos ensued.

The earth was fractured into six pieces, the universe in ruins, most stars extinguished.

Zara: "What... How is this possible?"

She teleported before Schiba's cabin, reduced to rubble. The red sky, the nearly extinguished life, all testified to a catastrophe.

In the debris, she found Schiba's lifeless body. Despite her sadness, she remained dignified.

Zara: "I understand... It is I who caused this by dropping the sphere. I caused a terrible shock to this universe... But I can fix this mistake. Zeus forbade time travel in our realm, but not in these universes."

Zara rose into the air, stretched her hands toward the sky.

Zara: "Imperium tempus."

[Imperium tempus: the spell allowing gods to control time at will-to go back, stop, slow down, or speed up time. Strangely, this spell is rarely used by the gods.]

Time reversed, the universe regained harmony.

Zara: "Perfect. As long as I am present, the sphere cannot be destroyed by my clumsiness. I exist in the present, even if I contemplate countless futures and pasts."

Everything returned to normal.

Zara flew to Schiba's cabin, which she spotted from the sky.

Schiba, sitting outside, enjoyed the day's warmth.

Zara appeared discreetly and approached him.

Zara: "Hello Schiba, how are you?"

Schiba jumped.

Schiba: "Eh?! Zara, it's you... You scared me! I'm very well, and you, beautiful lady?"

Zara: "Perfectly well too. I came to visit you."

Schiba: "I'm happy to see you, beautiful princess. I also wanted to tell you... something that has troubled me since we met."

Zara: "And what is it?"

Schiba stood, determined, and locked eyes with Zara.
