"How many fingers am I holding up?"
"Huh?? Why are there three Erens?HIC… is this another skill of yours, I only want one Eren tho…HIC..,"
I watched as she swayed back and forth from intoxication, my plan was now in motion, I had her in a condition where I could easily get what I needed done.
"Hey, let's go for a walk. I think you've had too much to drink?" I lifted her from the seat she slumped down on the counter from. She staggered a bit but fell into my grasp, and I lifted her off her feet and handed the bartender a gold coin that wasn't usable, but it stood as a code from "him" that this was a part of my mission, so he was to help me avoid suspicion.
The bartender tapped a mug on the counter six times in a special sequence, and a door to the side of the bar that wasn't visible before opened. I nodded at him and exited through the door girl in tow.
The entire bar erupted into a bevy of laughter, almost as if the entire bar had known of my mission beforehand. The door closed behind me once again, I was in a strange alley.
One I was way too used to, and it wasn't a happy feeling being in. I gulped as the nervousness settled once more. Despite this being my tenth time here.
I took my time walking down this secluded dark alley, now forgetting to check my tail occasionally.
The eerie silence was broken by my package's snores as she fell asleep in my arms.
The hidden hatch to the hideout was within view, and my heart raced as I approached it after passing a continuous repetition of wooden walls and roofs with no windows aimed at this alley.
I placed the unconscious body on the floor, close to the hatch, my heartbeat progressively increased, and I took a deep breath.
"Vanessa… I am getting you back no matter what."
I held the hilt of my sword as I felt like I was being watched.
"So… this is it, huh… exactly how you took my sister away!?" I gritted my teeth and spun around quickly, trying to locate the source of the voice that echoed through the dark alleyway.
I felt a shift in air pressure and, on reflex, activated my defensive skill.
"Indomitable!" My green aura once again surrounded my body, this time forming a frame around me like the scales on a fish.
A crack appeared on my barrier, and a dagger fell to the floor following a clank as it had made contact with it.
To crack my skill by throwing a dagger, whoever I am up against has got to be strong.
A bloody cloth sack fell to my feet, and two heads rolled out with another peering at me from inside the sack.
"Who, Who are you?… show yourself coward!!"
My skin grew cold seeing my friends' heads before me, they had nothing to do with my bad deeds. They were an honest bunch that I used as a cover by adventuring with them. They had no part in this.
"Damn it"… show yourself!"
I step forward slowly slowly glancing around, trying to catch a glimpse of my assailants.
"You see, back when I lived with my sister, I was nothing but a worthless little brother relying on her; I wasn't particularly good at anything useful. Yet my sister never once complained about tending to me or working different jobs to make ends meet." The voice once again echoed through the alleyways causing nothing but more panic within.
"But when I told her I wanted to be of help, she told me all I had to do was learn to defend myself, and once I could defend myself, I would then be able to protect her." This time, the voice sounded like it was to my left, and I pivoted quickly, facing in that direction, still covered by indomitable, and holding my sword firmly.
"I quickly realized I was good i using a knife after trying to cook for my sister and that I had been gifted with a skill that increased my abilities when I wielded one. I was so excited to let my sister know, so I waited for her to come home to tell her, but she never returned."
The voice kept coming from different directions that kept me spinning around senselessly in the dark like a blind bat.
"Seven months… I've spent the seven months since her disappearance honing my skills, leveling up and searching for her tirelessly and what do I find some piece of shit kidnapping yet another girl."
I gulped, stepping back slowly as my mind finally caught up and I realized who this person was.
"Hey, let me ask you, is my sister still alive?" The voice was now behind me, and I felt the tip of a blade come into contact with my barrier.
"Overwhelm!" I shouted instinctively and spun around, swinging my sword down as hard as I could, as my skill multiplied all my stats 100 times their current levels. The green aura around me grew thick and massive, towering above the roofs of the houses.
My mana, strength, speed, all my stats went through the roof as overwhelmed, multiplied them by 100, but my body, which wasn't strong enough, was under pressure, so I wanted to end this as fast as possible.
The dust cleared, and I stepped away from where I had just swung my sword while still being guarded, as I didn't make contact with anything.
With my increased sensitivity, I quickly picked up on his location and dashed towards him, but he kept evading with amazing speed.
He flipping away from my strike zone before I could complete my swings. Even with my speed times 100, I was unable to keep up.
I ripped a piece of brick from a wall and threw it in the direction I sensed him moving towards, and he blocked it with two black daggers, then rolled on the floor from the impact.
Now looking down at the figure decked out in black with only his eyes visible. A smile played on my face as I realized how small his frame was; he wasn't even a teenager.
"You're a damn monster kid, your what 10 you're pretty high level for a child you're age!"
"Eight!!… and this kid is gonna be the last thing you see!" He got up and once again disappeared into the shadows.
"You see, at my current level I only have two skills, but I think this will be enough to avenge my sister." The voice once again echoed in the alley.
"Oh that bitch, she's still alive a matter a fact I saw getting raped just this morning, the person I gave her to is quite greedy you see!" I aimed to get him emotional so he would slip up, and it seemed to work.
"Dauntless, with those there's nothing you can't cut through, Sever!" A bright red aura dashed at me, and before I could even blink, my barrier shattered and blood spewed from my chest.
"Indomitable! Fuck! Fuck! You son of a bitch! Overwhelm! Overwhelm! Overwhelm!" I could feel a swelling in my head and blood seeping from my mouth. I watched as the red aura tried to sprint away from me and dashed towards it, grabbing at it.
Grabbing the boy by his head, I heard him scream as my fingers dug into his skull from my increased strength, which was now times 400. "I'll kill you brat even if my bones shatter while doing it!"
I swung my sword in an attempt to remove his head.
CLANK! "If you want your bones to shatter, then so be it, let's go, Duraben!" A familiar feminine Voice Popped my eardrums from my enhanced hearing.
I jumped back, releasing the boy who was now squirming on the floor in pain.
A golden sword came ripping through the air at me with great force, and I blocked it with mine, which caused both my sword and my barrier to fall apart.
"Ahhhhhhhh!! My arms!!" The bone in both my arms shattered and pierced the flesh I was bleeding. The next thing I knew, I could no longer feel a thing, and I was now looking at my headless body lying broken and motionless on the ground before me as my vision faded out.
