What's with the "Hmm"?!
Violet Taylor was in the middle of her thought when she heard Maxwell Hughes speak again.
His tone was firm, his voice steady: "Never have, never did."
There was an inexplicably deep affection in his voice as he spoke, which made Violet Taylor pause and look at him.
Maxwell Hughes lowered his head and continued to gaze out of the window, no longer looking at her.
Suddenly, Violet Taylor felt that there was no point dwelling on the past. Wasn't how things were now pretty good?
She didn't care what kind of person Maxwell Hughes had been before; as long as he was good to her now, that was enough.
With her mood lifted, she wrapped her arm around Maxwell's, looked down at the time, and suddenly said, "Let's go see a movie!"
Maxwell Hughes immediately nodded in agreement: "Sure, I'll call home now to get the home theater ready."
Violet Taylor: ...
Violet Taylor couldn't help but pout: "I meant going to the cinema to watch a movie!"
