"Do you miss me so much because you couldn't wait to see me, that you came to pick me up?" Jane Sampson's eyes, brimming with water, stared at James Black, and those two words were written all over them.
Happy.
"Seeing you like this, did you miss me that much?" James didn't answer, but instead asked a question.
The moment she saw him, and was this happy, she must have really missed him recently.
"Yes, I did miss you," Jane Sampson admitted this time without any pretense, holding onto James and not letting go. "You have no idea how shocked I was when I saw the back of your head just now."
"Not bad, remembering even the back of my head so clearly that a single glance is all it takes to recognize me," James complimented Jane, quite pleased.
"That's not the point, okay?" Jane shook her head, "the point is after recognizing it was you, do you know how shocked I was further? Gosh, if it wasn't because you were driving, I would have thrown myself into your arms right then."
