Chapter 16 - Chapter 16: Player Forum

Forum Thread:

[Give Me 11sp And I Will Tell You Everything You Need To Know About Mystic Sea] - From: Seraph.

To Open This Thread, Players Need To Pay 11Sp.

Containing:

Taboos of Sea, Understanding of Sea of Beginning, Deeper understanding of classes: class rarity, class path, class awakening;

How to Extraordinary, Basic Knowledge of Aura and Spirit training, Basic Rift Knowledge, Basic Knowledge of Spiritual Food(@SaltyNavigator Brother, you don't need to poison test everything you eat yourself anymore);

Native basis of interaction: culture awareness, extraordinary races, what you should avoid on sea(strange phenomenon, mutation, corruption and such);

Note From OP:

Knowledge is not free, and I'm already being generous by selling these basic knowledge for just 11 SP(You can search the price in the shop), not to mention others' knowledge.

Comment:

SaltyNavigator: Bro, where were you three days ago?? You know how many poisonous fishes I've eaten already? My taste buds are almost dead, and I think I have been hearing things on my side lately, but anyway thanks for the shoutout!

OP replied: Brother you should check your corruption level, hearing things may be the after effect of it. I suggest you search for something that can purify your bodies in the shop.

SaltyNavigator replied: Noted brother, let me read your post first, I haven't unlocked the corruption gauge yet.

Number111: Bought. Info legit, clear, and straight to the point. 10/10 would recommend, though it feels like the OP is scamming himself at this price.

RedKnight: The post is timed perfectly, and the information is more complete than I know. Thanks for the information, my thoughts are… even with the price, this is actually not much different than a gift for all players.

NotWarrior: 11 SP? This feels suspiciously cheap for "everything." But fine, bought it- damn, this is actually good. Seraph, you need business training; you could've sold this at 111 SP easily.

Zealot Mackerel: OHH, LORD SERAPH HAS GRACED US WITH KNOWLEDGE AGAIN! TAKE MY 11 SP AND MY UNWORTHY SOUL! (Pray Emoji 3x)

OP replied: Make sacrifices for me tonight, I will answer your prayers.

Zealot Mackerel replied: YES LORD!! I WILL DO EVERYTHING YOU SAY!

Anonymous replied: Yo tone it down. The cultists are getting too strong lately.

TrashMage: Thanks for not being greedy like certain unnamed "top players." Some of us poor mages barely have 11 SP after our spells keep blowing up.

GreedyMerchant1 replied: Who are you talking to brother? It's not us right?

Anonymous: OP, are you the same Seraph who's telling us about the class system before? Aren't you supposed to be sacrificed or something on the second day? What did I miss again??

JustACat: Who knew our strongest player would sell information for lunch money? Anyway thanks OP.

MisterFisher: Fishing buddies, let's pool together 11 SP- Oh wait, it doesn't work that way. Fine, each man for himself. Here goes my last 11 SP…

SwordBro: Damn, this Aura info alone is worth more than my sword. Seraph, I'd marry you if I wasn't terrified of getting smited by lightning.

Anonymous: The information is real, I tested it. Thanks, Seraph, now can you sell your high-level growth secrets too?

Seraph read the replies on his thread with a light smile. Players are always entertaining, he thought, and the sound of spiritual points flowing to his account making his smile wider.

As the last notification blinked away, William shifted his focus. Kei had returned, casting a complicated gaze at Rei on his lap that had a flushed face, heavily drunk under the blood drinker effect. Her smooth white hair unraveled beautifully, her chest was flowing naturally up and down with her breath.

"Is it done?" William asked.

"Yes," Kei answered, still eyeing her drunk sister, "Everything we might need has already been relocated and the lamb girls are now scrubbing the ship clean."

"Good."

William nodded in acknowledgement, having someone doing those small things really feel good, saving him time and effort. Still, it doesn't mean he was idle.

Just like his thread above, he was farming for sp and information in the forum. And right now, his sp has continuously increased thanks to this post. With it, he can buy more things from the shop, and the item from the shop itself will help them more than he could describe.

"Then let's go." William said, One of his hands holding the drunk Rei, where the other goes to Kei.

Kei didn't hesitate to take it. The fate of the twin witches was already firmly in William's hands; all she had to do was cling tightly and hold on.

But then William did something unimaginable.

From the hand she holds, Kei feels strange energy flowing. It wasn't the familiar spiritual power, but something more pure and powerful.

Mystic.

It flowed from her hand then to her backs, gradually forming a solid two silveris white wings from pure energy. Kei felt a strange sensation, her body growing lighter until she gently lifted off the ground.

Then, with a slight tug from William, the three of them soared into the sky.

"Woah!" She finally reacts, seeing the familiar island below her with blank looks.

'How can he do this thing?' Kei's brain slowly turns, searching for the relevant knowledge inside her mind, but nothing found.

'Borrowed mutation? No. Is this mutation at all?' Her flesh doesn't seem to have mutated, it was like she simply can fly however she wants all of sudden. Then she took a good look again to the winged William again, 'Is every Mythical creature this miraculous?'

An Endless Research, How wonderful… Kei though.

...….

While William is preparing for his voyage, the forum won't sit still.

In an endless world, there are endless things to do. Thread after thread were posted in the forum, many of them are requesting help:

[Three days to the west, three nights to the east. Brothers where are the fucking land?] - From: ThreeNight

Fellow players, brother and sister, please give me coordinates for land. I have been in this blue ocean for three days and nights, my mind is filled with endless blue. The sky is blue, the water is blue, even my ship is blue. Please someone save me from this blue torment!!

Comments:

Op is tormented by colors, I never seen this before. (Laughing emoji)

Never seen a fish fully colored by blue before. Does OP have some? Give me a sample please.

Amber: Here (coordinates), I'm on an island called Green Island, an active trade city. This island is 70% green, so you will not be tormented by blue colors again.

Reply from OP: Really? Wait for me- Noooo!! Twenty days of sailing?? Why my salvation is So far away?!

Reply from Amber: What? Twenty? OP are you sure we are still in the same water?

BlueJay: Come here, brother! (coordinates) Save me from this deserted island! I already checked with the coordinates above, it's seventeen days of sailing, so I am pretty sure we are closer than other people.

ThreeNight is actually moved by the effort of collective player that gives him many land coordinates, almost making him shed tears, and even if there are still some players that are making fun of him, in the face of blue salvation, he can only ignore them.

But after checking the coordinates one by one, he despaired. The closest one is three days of sailing away, and the longest is twenty days from the first player that gives him coordinates.

This made him think if his name is some sort of curse or something.

In the end, ThreeNight replied last time in his thread and chose one coordinate to go for.

OP answer to all reply:

Thanks brother and sister for the coordinates. I already checked all the coordinates and the closest one to me is from brother @BlueJay, so I will go there to save him and take several days of vacation on his island.

Comments:

Good luck OP. Also don't forget my blue fish.

BlueJay: Finally somebody is going to save me. Come here brother, I will be waiting for you on the island.

Some of them are giving others an opportunity:

[Another Rift found, come here everyone (coordinates)] - From: ConquerorNumber1

This one is E-Level Rift, and I heard that it will give mortals a high chance to step to extraordinary!

Players who haven't stepped out to extraordinary yet are recommended to come here. Go fast, first come first serve, maximum people can join is only one hundred.

I will be waiting inside, good luck brother!

Comments:

Really? Let me check… not that far, Wait for me brother! Let us mortals conquer the world together!

So many rifts found, is this the effect of the silver moon?

My time has come! The D-Level rift from brother sargo is too far away from me, but now another is found. Even if I'm already at rank 1, I read from Seraph post that even the lowest level rift can still help me go further in the path of extraordinary. Wait for me guys, your king is coming!

Small percentage are digging through System function:

[Hidden function is found, Spiritual Point is free!] - From: HiddenSage

Guys I finally found it, the way to make sp without quest.

(Screenshot of Sacrifices button)

After digging through System panels and giving it a try one by one, I found salvation not by accident.

Did you envy those ranked players with thousands of sp and can buy many magical things in the shop? Now you can do it too, with just one button.

Here, let me tell you how.

First off, you need to hold an item you wanted to sacrifice in your inventory(it can be anything, but most hold extraordinary property or spiritual power), after that go to the shop and find conversion menu.

If you have already seen it before then you know this menu can only give you gold shells coin by exchanging sp through it. At least that was all it could do before.

But now, I suddenly found another button beside it. Yes it was the sacrificial button, with it you can exchange some strange things you don't need with sp.

And the second stage is to push the button! Go someone try it, and give me some sp like Seraph above. Give me some credits!

Comments:

Lol OP just wants some credits. From what I observed, somebody will find this function sooner or later. You don't need to make it big like this OP. And it's not free, you still need an item to exchange for it.

Silent update? Cih cih cih, this system is just like programmers in the old world, giving updates without a thought. Hopefully it won't come crashing later…

Minority, found themselves in predicament…

Amber, rank 75 player, read thread posts from Seraph with furrowed brows. Especially at the very first part that explains about sea taboos.

First taboo, Don't ever let mortals(non-extraordinary people) hold or touch gold coins, it doesn't matter if it is just one or a thousand. They will die, not beautifully(even I still don't know what will happen), and you, or someone that gives them, will also bear the part of karma.

Note from OP: Don't try it, don't get curious. Extremely dangerous, Madness of the Mystic Sea is not just warning from the system, it holds real danger.

She finally understands why she becomes ostracized after she tried to give some kid that helped her money. She thought she was being generous, giving them gold coins after that small help, but actually what she was doing was almost killing those who helped her.

Fortunately, they know about the taboo and only cast her away without looking back. If there is someone died because of her generosity, and if what the OP said is true, Amber is not sure what will happen to her.

She knows madness, she already experienced it after eating questionable fish when she was stranded on the sea before. And reading the thread from Seraph.

Taboo.

This gives her chills to the bone, Amber understands that even if you don't believe in local custom, you better have some respect and humility toward it. For her, doesn't want to know what will happen after she breaks the taboo. Especially after she is suddenly transported to a magical world.

'So fortunate, thank god.' Amber sighed in relief, 'But why doesn't my guardian stop it?' She thought in confusion.

Unfortunately, some players don't have Amber experience of luckily avoiding taboo at all.

Player name: GoldenKing, LuckyPlayer, SongOfModesty;

Those three players had discovered a small inhabited island. At first, they were thrilled. They'd finally found a place where they could eat food without their heads being hammered by the residual wills of weird fish in the sea.

Even better, when the natives discovered the players had no classes, their enthusiasm grew unexpectedly intense, going so far as to eagerly push their own daughters into the players' arms. Though initially puzzled by this behavior, the trio dismissed it as merely a strange local custom.

By the third day, the players had grown close, becoming sworn brothers who supported each other through quests. That evening, when the System's sudden nightly challenge appeared, they were caught off-guard but quickly prepared.

Heeding the System's explicit warnings, they selected the lowest difficulty, knowing that choosing otherwise meant certain death. Still, the battle was fierce. They fought bravely, successfully killing the unique monster and at least half of the normal monsters, earning their hard-won rewards.

Exhausted, they returned to the village that night, where they eagerly released pent-up desires into the welcoming embrace of the villagers' daughters. Feeling generous, they handed out class cards freely, believing these gifts, along with gold, were genuine blessings. But they had no idea that in this sea, blessings often wore the masks of terrible curses.

On the morning of the fourth day, the System underwent a major update, introducing several new functions. Intrigued, GoldenKing exchanged some of his SP for gold shells. Later, while playing with village children, he casually gave them a handful of coins.

Planning to further repay the hospitality they'd enjoyed, he prepared more gold to present to the village chief later. His companions nodded approvingly, unaware of the taboo he'd just broken.

Afterwards, the three players set sail, leisurely exploring around the island, hunting marine life, and thinking about sharing their catch with the locals. Hours passed peacefully, until LuckyPlayer and SongOfModesty suddenly noticed something very wrong with GoldenKing.

GoldenKing's skin had started cracking, revealing strange, golden streaks beneath the surface. His face was wet with tears, but the tears weren't normal, they were drops of liquid gold, running silently down his cheeks. Alarmed, his companions shouted warnings, suspecting a curse or affliction. But strangely, GoldenKing himself felt no pain and insisted nothing was wrong, oblivious to his terrifying appearance.

Concerned and increasingly uneasy, LuckyPlayer and SongOfModesty decided to quickly return to the village, hoping the natives might know something. Ignoring GoldenKing's protests, they steered their boat back towards shore.

When they arrived at the village, the unsettling silence immediately struck them. The friendly natives who usually greeted them were nowhere in sight. LuckyPlayer and SongOfModesty exchanged tense glances, realizing something was terribly wrong.

At that moment, GoldenKing suddenly fell silent. He began walking purposefully toward the center of the village, ignoring his companions' increasingly desperate calls. When LuckyPlayer and SongOfModesty attempted to physically stop him, an impossible force threw them back, as though GoldenKing's body now possessed monstrous strength.

Helplessly, they followed at a safe distance, prepared to flee if necessary.

But nothing could have prepared them for what awaited at the village center.

Standing there beneath the sun was a grotesque golden giant, towering and dripping with crimson blood. Its enormous body was riddled with countless holes… holes that, upon closer inspection, were anything but empty. SongOfModesty doubled over immediately, violently vomiting at the horrifying sight. LuckyPlayer, though holding his stomach, didn't blame him. It was a sight no human mind could bear.

Faces, dozens, or maybe hundreds, were pressed into the golden flesh of the giant. Children to adults, each twisted in frozen masks of despair and agony, trapped in eternal suffering. And somehow, while they stared in horror, GoldenKing had already approached the monstrous figure.

Without warning, the giant's bloodied hand reached down, gently taking GoldenKing and lifting him upwards. The grotesque mouth of the creature opened, and a chorus of overlapping, inhuman voices reverberated from every hole in its body.

"Brothers!!!"

The maddening sound echoed painfully in their heads.

"Good Brother!!!"

LuckyPlayer and SongOfModesty recoiled, feeling as though their minds might shatter. But the madness also snapped them awake.

They had to run.

This was something beyond their strength, something impossible to fight. Without another thought, the two remaining players sprinted towards their ship, hearts heavy and eyes fixed forward, unable to look back and witness the fate of their good brother.

When LuckyPlayer and SongOfModesty reach their ship, their breath is ragged and their hearts hammering wildly. Panic still clawed at them, and adrenaline urging them to flee as quickly as possible. They hastily pulled the anchor, unfurled the sails, and prepared to escape from this cursed island as fast as the wind allowed.

But as they paused to catch their breath, their eyes met, and both froze in shock.

"Your face…" LuckyPlayer stammered, eyes wide in disbelief.

SongOfModesty touched his cheek, confusion flooding his features, "What about it? What's wrong?"

"You're… cracking," LuckyPlayer said, voice shaking, "Golden cracks, just like… GoldenKing."

A chill raced down SongOfModesty's spine. He studied LuckyPlayer more closely, horror creeping onto his face, "You too…"

Neither of them felt anything unusual physically, but they'd seen what had become of GoldenKing. Despair gripped them instantly. Their experience told them clearly that this golden affliction was no mere cosmetic anomaly.

"We have to find something in the System Shop," LuckyPlayer urged frantically, his hands trembling as he opened the interface, scrolling desperately for any sign of hope.

They found it, a Purification Potion. The relief lasted only seconds, shattering almost immediately as they saw the price:

[Basic Purification Potion - 500 SP. (Note: Alleviates symptoms but cannot fully clear curses.)]

Their hearts sank even further seeing the recommended solution:

[Advanced Purification Potion - 1500 SP. (Effectively removes curses, corruption and such that are not deeply rooted.)]

LuckyPlayer's voice trembled, barely a whisper, "We… we don't have enough SP."

SongOfModesty clenched his fists, frustration boiling over, "We didn't even make the rankings. Killing only half the monsters last night barely earned us anything."

But then, as their ship drifted further from the island, they suddenly felt their minds wrench violently, a searing pull threatening to tear their spirits apart. The compulsion to return to the island overwhelmed them completely, forcing LuckyPlayer to steer the ship back, but still not daring to dock.

"We're trapped," SongOfModesty muttered in quiet despair, "We have nowhere to go."

Helplessly, they opened the forum, desperately creating threads to beg for assistance. But their pleas were quickly buried under countless newer posts, ignored or unseen.

Then, by sheer chance, LuckyPlayer spotted a new trending thread:

[Give Me 11sp And I Will Tell You Everything You Need To Know About Mystic Sea] - Seraph

They exchanged a glance, hope flaring painfully within their chests. Without hesitation, they both paid the small fee. And as they read the details, their dread turned to understanding. The realization hit like a hammer:

They had violated the first taboo of the Mystic Sea.

Frantic, they immediately tagged Seraph, telling him what happened and begging desperately for help. Each passing second felt unbearable until finally, Seraph responded.

Seraph replied: Calm down. Tell me your coordinates.

Their fingers shaking, LuckyPlayer quickly typed their location. Both players silently prayed, hoping desperately they were close enough to be saved.

Minutes passed like hours before the reply appeared:

Seraph replied: 12 hours, give or take. Even then, I can only set sail once night arrives. I still have matters to handle.

The sun was already dipping toward the horizon, yet several agonizing hours still stood between them and nightfall. LuckyPlayer and SongOfModesty had no choice but to hold onto this thin thread of hope.

Seraph replied again: Okay, try to survive until then.

Both players exhaled slowly, acknowledging their grim reality. With nothing else left to do, they used the last of their SP to buy two Basic Purification Potions each, praying silently that this would at least hold off the worsening symptoms until Seraph could reach them.

And as the sun began to set over the cursed island, they stared out into the deepening twilight, knowing their survival rested entirely in the hands of a player they'd never met.
