The battle between Shrek Academy and the Elemental Academy went on for seven rounds but ended quickly.
After decisively defeating Luo Fengche, Fu Ya became the target of the Elemental Academy. Her next opponent was a fire-attribute Spirit Master with a higher Spirit Power level than hers. Fire and ice attributes counter each other, but Fu Ya, having exhausted much of her Spirit Power in the previous round, wasn't in peak condition and ultimately had to admit defeat and leave the stage.
However, the fire-attribute Spirit Master didn't have an easy time either. Before conceding, Fu Ya's all-out offensive caused significant trouble for him.
In the following matches, Shrek Academy sent out two Spirit Ancestors (Level 40+) and two Spirit Kings (Level 50+) in addition to Fu Ya. These five successfully eliminated the seven opponents from the Elemental Academy, ending the battle.
The difference in strength between the two schools was thus fully revealed. Although Shrek Academy didn't achieve a one-sided victory in the relay battle, and the fight was fairly balanced, the Elemental Academy had fielded its strongest team members.
Four Spirit Ancestors and three Spirit Kings.
This lineup was already at the top level among all participating academies.
However, Shrek Academy only exposed two of their Spirit kings' strength.
In reality, the Shrek Academy team consisted of six Spirit Kings and one Spirit Emperor.
After the match, the atmosphere at the Elemental Academy grew heavy.
Fortunately, the round-robin format allowed two teams to advance. Besides Shrek Academy, the Elemental Academy still had a significant advantage over the other schools in their group, making it likely they would advance to the finals.
As Shrek Academy's team prepared to leave, Qi Han felt a bit reluctant but still took Pururu from Yue Lengxin and stood up.
The match had been a tremendous shock for him. Since arriving in the Douluo Continent, this was his first time witnessing a battle between the continent's top young Spirit Masters. The vivid, thrilling combat scenes were even more spectacular than the best special effects in movies back on Earth.
Well, this sure beats Boruto's action scenes! The team was stopped by a swarm of reporters at the exit, eager to interview the winners for articles in the next issue of their magazines.
Qi Han, the only one not wearing a Shrek uniform, was likely mistaken for a staff member and was thus ignored by the reporters.
Watching the team members being questioned by the reporters, Qi Han smiled faintly and quickly blended into the crowd.
At that moment, the glory belonged to Shrek.
Holding Pururu, Qi Han soon returned to the Small Shop.
"Ru Yi, do you think I'll have that kind of strength when I reach the fourth or fifth ring?" he asked.
"That depends on the overall age of your Spirit rings," Ru Yi replied after a moment of contemplation. "Your first and second rings are already at the thousand year old level. If your subsequent rings also reach the thousand years or even ten-thousand-year level, you could dominate Spirit Masters of similar strength. The gap between the Spirit Skill coming from a thousand years and hundred year is quite significant."
"Is that so?" Qi Han pondered. "What about combat experience? I don't seem to have any."
"A chef's knife doesn't need combat experience," Ru Yi said with a touch of irony. "Just think of the enemy as the ingredients you usually cut."
Is that it?
Qi Han was taken aback but then felt it made sense.
Am I really that strong? "You haven't even used your second Spirit Skill yet," Ru Yi remarked, rolling her eyes. "That's a system Spirit ring. It can't be bad. All your future Spirit Skills will be the best suited for you. They don't require complex techniques to unleash their full power."
"In short, they're foolproof Spirit Skills."
Qi Han felt a bit dissatisfied. "Why call them foolproof Spirit Skills? I think I have some talent as a Spirit Master."
"That's your delusion..." Ru Yi sighed. "You'd better stick to being a chef."
"Fine, fine," Qi Han sighed. He had just watched a Spirit Master battle and felt a surge of excitement, prompting him to want to fight like a Spirit Master.
But come to think of it, since acquiring his second Spirit ring, he really hadn't had much chance to use his Spirit Skills.
Excitedly, he looked towards the dining area of his shop, but before he could act, Ru Yi's voice interrupted, "Do you want to demolish the shop?"
Uh…
"Aren't all the items in the shop indestructible? I just want to try," Qi Han mumbled.
"Precisely because they're indestructible, you won't be able to test the Spirit Skill's power."
That seemed true. Qi Han quietly put away his chef's knife.
Fine, I'll find another time to try.
It was almost time to reach level thirty. When he did, he'd need to hunt Spirit beasts to obtain ingredients again, giving him plenty of opportunities to test his Spirit Skills.
Checking the time, he saw there was about an hour left before closing. Placing Pururu on a divider, he smiled, "You play by yourself for a while. I'll come back later."
Qi Han vanished from his spot and entered the training space.
"Boiled cabbage, here I come!" "Meow~"
Pururu tilted its head, gazing at the empty bowl in front of it with its deep purple eyes. It seemed to be deep in thought.
Feeling a bit hungry, it wondered if its human caretaker had forgotten to prepare its food.
Maybe... I should get it myself.
After thinking for a while, Pururu jumped down from the divider and walked into the kitchen. It strolled around until it reached a cabinet.
It leaped up and used its strong front paws to press down on the cabinet handle. With a clear "click," the cabinet opened slightly.
"Meow!"
Yes, it opened! Pururu wedged its paw into the gap and pushed the door open, revealing neatly stacked black meal boxes inside.
Pururu remembered clearly that its human had taken its food from these black meal boxes before.
It even remembered the steps to open the box.
Carefully sticking its head into the cabinet, Pururu grabbed the handle of one of the meal boxes with its mouth. After pulling the meal box out, it didn't forget to use its tail to close the cabinet door.
Jumping back onto the divider, Pururu skillfully opened the meal box with its paws, then took out a full bowl of cat food, grinning widely.
"Meow!"
Pururu is ready to eat!
...
In the training space, Ru Yi's expression suddenly became a bit strange. She noticed the anomaly the moment the cabinet door opened. If it had been anyone else invading the kitchen, they would have faced the kitchen's automatic defense system. However, seeing that it was Pururu, she decided not to activate it.
She then watched as Pururu opened the cabinet door, took out the meal box, opened it, and began eating.
Even Ru Yi couldn't help but wonder.
This cat can now fetch its own food...
In a few years, will it be able to cook for itself?
"Huh? Ru Yi, why do you look so strange?"
Qi Han looked up after another failed attempt, just in time to see Ru Yi's odd expression.
"N-nothing." Ru Yi's head shook like a rattle.
