[Waveblade]
[This sword is made out of a special Dark Continent metal that can lengthen and bend, effectively becoming a long whip. It deals high blunt damage in whip form.]
Max held the newly acquired blue sword in his right hand and he turned it into a long whip after inspecting it once again.
He was alone, outside of the city, about to practice for a few hours.
He performed the basics and the advanced movements, footworks and attacks he learned on his journeys. He was adamant on the basics. Balance, pivoting, angles, everything
Then he held a whip in his left hand. Virtonia was in his right.
The whip was definitely stronger than steel, but it was flexible like rubber.
There were some large rocks scattered across the clear grasslands around the great city.
The player swung the whip at a large rock.
To his surprise, the whip dented the rock quite a lot. It was infused with his basic blue aura and it offered another form of attacking to his playstyle. The range was large.
He swung it more and more, getting used to the arm movement, careful not to hurt himself. Booms were heard and air burst at the end point of the whip
This sword could deal great sharp and blunt damage. It was truly a weapon for mega monsters and great enemies. You could parry a titan's arm swing with it.
A while later Max sat down to read through the information on the sword once more.
[Seaborne]

[Water Breathing]

[Hydranous Mark]

[Complete the Maestro's quest for a great reward!]
Max smiled. He was starting to think that he might do quite well in the tournament.
He made the sword into a whip again and pulverized a big rock. Pebbles and pieces flew everywhere along with a small dust explosion. The whip made very loud sounds akin to an explosion as they broke the sound barrier and released small shockwaves.
This weapon was very powerful.
Max was no master swordsman, but he was decent at both single and dual wielding. Experience and occasional training with NPCs across the year made that possible.
This whip form is going to help him greatly.
He practiced for an hour more and went back.
The common lower streets of Virtonis were crowded with people at all times. Bridges of the High streets partially blocked the sky now and then. People wore many different kinds of clothes. Some women wore wide brimmed hats with a blue rose on the side as part of Virtonian fashion, while others were styled differently, possibly people from other corners of the world.
People moved to this metropolis from all corners of the world. It was the center of everything.
Men born and raised in Virtonis almost always wore some neckerchief on their casual clothes that included shirts and some kind of pullover.
Others wore something akin to togas or even one piece outfits occasionally.
There were different races of people. People who had blue eyeliner naturally, those with plus symbol pupils in their eyes, dark scleras with white pupils and people with caucasian-like features as well. There were also people of darker skin, even bluish.
More races were seen that subtly or not so subtly differentiated them from others.
Down in Rinea, most of the people had caucasian features with very minor difference or none.
Max spawned in this city but it was still a complete novelty to him. So many people, sights, buildings, street decorations, signs, furry flying animals that accompanied their owners and so much more.
It was a bright city with colorful buildings and vibrant people.
He stopped at a stall that sold fast food.
The player ordered an Imperon sandwich. It was a sandwich that contained meat from a frequently hunted bird monster that attacks farm animals and crops.
As a bald man behind the stall prepared the food, Max asked a question.
"What do you know about Traviskan Virlosen?"
"That guy?" He briefly paused his work.
"He is one of the most wanted men, gone for decades. No one has found traces of him. The reward is one item from the Emperor's treasurery if the man is found dead or alive."
"Huh." Max smiled slightly as he received his soup.
The player was on a great streak these days, ever since he killed the Epic boss.
The tournament reward was also something very attractive.
"Why do you ask, you met him or something?"
"Nah." The player said as he received his sandwich. "Thanks."
He paid up and started eating as he walked away. The six foot tall Max was swallowed by the moving crowd and he walked back to his place of stay, expecting the awaited letter.
He was as ready as he could be. Two powerful weapons, the mysterious aura property, the armor and the stats. All of these things probably made him one of the strongest first floor beings. His skills as well.
Luckily, the tournament fights usually don't lead to death. Max thought.
Half an hour later, Max stood in front of an open restaurant. The doors were slid open and you could sit outside right by the stone walkway in the city's vibrance, or sit in the interior's coziness and comfort.
The player stepped in. Art was placed on the walls and the floor was of dark wood. There was a woman at the bar and a waiter serving drinks to people sitting inside.
The brunette woman noticed him. Max approached.
She looked at Max, then the player asked.
"Hey. Do you know where mister Panse is?"
"Oh, he's in the storage room, he'll be here in a minute."
Max nodded and thanked her. The player switched up and decided to come by here first, before going to the hotel.
A few minutes went by, and a man came from the basement. He looked to be in his late thirties. He had dark, full hair and a well groomed beard. He had yellow eyes.
Panse frowned at Max, then raised his eyebrows in surprise.
"Max?"
The two hugged and patted each other's backs.
"Hey, it's been so long." Max said with a smile.
"Yeah. You look...stronger?"
"Haha." Max grinned. "I'm a Higher now."
"No...You're joking."
"No I am not."
The two of them sat down.
"A tasquina please! Two!" Panse said.
"You wanna eat something?" The man asked Max.
"Nah, let's just have a drink. How have you been?"
"Great. Family's good. You?"
"Oh, not much. Besides going to participate in the Imperial tournament."
A look of disbelief was on Panse's face.
"I want you to watch, friend. I'm going for the prize."
Panse nodded silently. Shock on his face.
"Uh, how man? What the hell happened since you left this place?" He said after a few moments of silence.
"Way too much. I've basically crossed half the continent."
"From being a bartender here, to now this...Congratulations brother."
"Yeah, thanks. You'll wanna hear this..."
