Chapter 45 - No Destruction

How can one effectively combat an opponent capable of launching long-range attacks? Is there a way to conceal oneself from their all-seeing spiritual eye? In the face of such immense power, survival seems impossible unless you possess equal or greater strength to escape their clutches.

Unless one played dead, like the beetle until your enemy passed, there would be little hope. In essence, he is mostly non-responsive, rarely uttering a word and always wearing a stoic expression.

Xiuayi's mind ran wild as he attempted to connive an escape plan. But it might was a little too slow.

Tianwei, had broken through to the 4th cycle, granting him immense physical strength and the ability to exert more bearably his divine power. However, even with that breakthrough, the attack just now was not from anyone to be belittled.

The force of the blow propelled them forcefully into the ground, leaving behind deep furrows and craters. Apart from Xuan Yi, Hai Du, and Tianwei, the others lacked the strength to even stand.

Although their condition was less dire, Hai and Tianwei were still in the process of recovering from the intense battle, their bodies bearing the weight of internal injuries.

The tentacle swiftly retreated into the ground, resembling a dragon or serpent burrowing like a mole, ripping through the earth. Its solid form felt like a stone snake slithering through the rocky terrain.

With a sudden burst of momentum, it shot back into the sky, tearing the air apart and creating an instant vacuum. The resulting roar reverberated through the morning atmosphere, as if it could be heard across the entire world, and space itself seemed to rupture.

The tentacle descended towards them, and even with the lingering power from the mystery of breakthroughs, Xuan Yi doubted that he could receive that attack, even with the combined force from Tian Wei.

The mountain ranges trembled and cracked, the shockwave broke through solid rock, surged through the dense forest below, spanning a hundred miles to reach the tiny village of Shengbing.

This humble village managed to survive solely due to the presence of a powerful individual hidden within its midst. It might be not entirely surprising that it turns out to harbors more powerful people. People who are unaffected by the chaos of the world and only engrossed in their mundane lives.

As the crushing tentacle composed of rocks and boulders approached, a figure swiftly traversed through space, deflecting the tentacles with an indiscernible speed. The person, a woman, moved with the agility of the wind, appearing wherever she pleased in an instant.

"This has gone on for far too long," she declared, her voice resolute. "Do not presume that your tribe instills fear in me. Put an end to these futile clashes. I yearn for a peaceful slumber." Her words resonated through space, penetrating even the hidden crevices of the universe.

The shattered fragments of the tentacle swiftly regrouped, reassembling with bone-chilling shockwaves.

"What about my mountains, ravaged and stripped of their precious resources and flora?" the wailing mountain woman questioned. Her voice felt like it came from nowhere and everywhere.

The voice echoed as though it was etched deep in the mind, neither originating from a specific location nor bound by physical form, replied in response.

The woman from Shengbing didn't answer back, she instead, gracefully crossed her legs, assuming a meditative posture.

Threads of white smoke and mist-like wind emanated from her, permeating the crushed and pitted terrain left behind by the devastating shockwaves of both the current and previous attacks.

Like nimble needles and threads, the wind delicately weaved through the cracks and pits, seamlessly restoring each affected area as if not even a speck of dust had been displaced.

It was as if she were a goddess and the mountains were her creation, molded by the sheer might of her power and the purity of her intentions. Rocks realigned themselves, fissures mended, and chasms fused back together. It is one thing to destroyed a mountain, it's another altogether to restore it.

Witnessing the extent of her power, which extended across the entire mountain range, and the flawless execution of her skills, where not even a droplet of sweat formed or a breath hastened, Xuan Yi and Tian Wei realized they had grossly underestimated her strength back in the village.

And so, the mountain ranges, stretching from one extreme end to the other, hundreds of miles apart, were made whole once again. She stood once she was done. She was waiting to hear what excuse the Wailing mountain tribe woman will give in order to continue her barrage of attacks.

[Dear Reader,
