Jian Dan left Mu Yi's place and headed straight back to Li Garden. By the time she returned, Chu Liyuan hadn't come home yet.
After taking a bath, Jian Dan went to the dining room for dinner.
"Madam, wouldn't you like to wait for the young master to dine together?"
"Uncle?"
"Yes! The young master just called to say he'll be home soon!"
"No, why should I wait for him? Damn, I'm not waiting for him. I'll eat by myself!" Jian Dan, angry about what happened in the morning, protested.
Seeing Jian Dan's demeanor, Jin immediately guessed her thoughts and didn't say anything further, serving the dinner on the table.
Chu Liyuan entered the dining room just as Jian Dan was beginning to eat, "Jian Jian, why didn't you wait for me?"
"Why should I wait for you?" she retorted.
The corners of Chu Liyuan's mouth curved up, realizing Jian Jian must be upset about the morning's events, and he gently touched her head, "It's okay, Jian Jian, if you're hungry, go ahead and eat!"
