Chapter 19 - Chapter 19

Sirius and I were hovering over a warded and secluded lake after going for a long ride around England. Sirius pulled a package from his pocket and threw it to me, "Want to tell me what it is, now?" I opened the thread and unwrapped the brown wrapping paper befor holding it up to Sirius, "This... my dear Padfoot, is the Philosopher's stone. It has the capability of transmute lead in to gold and produce an elixer that grants semi-immortality."

Before Sirius commented something I continued, "Dumbledore used it to lure Voldemort out into the open, and like a fool he did as predicted. He was there in Hogwarts till last month. He controlled our DADA professor- Qurenius Quirrell, to consume Unicorn blood, do some kind of ritual to take possession of his body. He was half successful, to complete his full resurrection, he needed the stone to brew the Elixer of immortality. I faced the man one of the secret room hidden in Hogwarts."

"Did Dumbledore come and help you? I heard the professor went missing." Sirius asked in confusion. I scoffed at the thought, "No. I played right into the old goat's hands. There was an enchantment that makes only me to atain the stone. I thought it was Snape going after the stone, but it turned out to be Quirrell. The stone appeared in my pocket. Voldemort tried to take it from me, but the moment he touched me, he burnt to ashes."

We landed on the ground and I plopped on the soft grass feeling complicated at the issue of my 'mother'- Lily Potter. She protected me. Willingly gave her life for me. A stranger. For the first time, I felt guilty for being Harry Potter. He, who is not even her son. An imposter, a fake, thief. If she were here what would I say to her. Would I still act like her son, like Harry? Or will I tell her the truth? How would she react to that, I wonder...

I continued were I left off, "The ancient magic, that my mother had cast over me in her last moments still protects me to this day, from Voldemort's vile hands. The magic activated when he came in contact with me and burned him. Although I doubt he is dead. I saw his spectre leave the burnt body and flew through the castle walls crying in agony."

Sirius was sitting down with his head in his hands, absorbing everything silently. "Old man, Dumbledore. I understand his motives and actions and even support them. But the way he does things is so convoluted, that it seems twisted and cruel, to me especially. I cannot fully trust him, after being manipulated into doing things his way. I will go with his plans, but I need a way to get myself out of his equation when the time comes, when he goes too far."

Sirius and I sat in silence as we did not know what else to do. Night had fallen and Sirius got up, "Weren't the Weasley Twins coming to pick you up in the morning?"

We went back to the manor packed my things and let Hedwig back out off her cage after a nice long sleep. I shrunk my school trunk and my weapons trunk and got ready. After a nasty trip of side-along apparation, I was left dry heaving on the cold, cobbled floor of the Leaky Cauldron's entrance. "That was not pleasant." I started reaching, extremely annoyed by Sirius who was guffawing at my state of disarray.

We were bickering back and forth when he heard the honk of a car. We were just in time when a Ford Anglea pulled up right in front of us, "Harry!" Unexpectedly, it was Ron who was peeking his head out if the car window, waving his hand at me. "Morning Ron. Fred, George, had a good holiday I hope."

"Wasn't too bad. The brooms certainly livened things up for sure. It wasn't as great as yours I heard. We saw the Daily Prophet. You made the head lines. Twice, I may add." I just shrugged giving no further comment. The trio hot out off the car and shook my hand, I gestured to Sirius, "This is Sirius Black, he is my uncle. You may know him as Padfoot."

The expression on the twins were priceless, they shook Sirius's hand taking turns, "YOU'RE PADFOOT?! Well that explains why Harry turned out to be such an.... outstanding gentleman." Fred joked as George nodded sagely. I punched Fred in the shoulder, "Oh, Come off it, will you..."

Sirius had a good laugh at our antics before he pulled me into a hug, "Take care of your self and don't forget to write. Have fun Harry." He broke the hug and walked away stil waving at me. He turned around the corner and *crack* with the distinct sound of apparation, Sirius left the area.

We loaded up the trunk and got in, Fred and George in the front with Ron and I in the back. The car started up with a coughing fit and lurched forward vigorously before riding down the road smoothly. "Now for the fun Part." George announced before pressing a button.

The outside shimmered before it settled, the cloaking device was switched on and the Car was currently invisible to the naked eye. We rode out of the city and waited till we started our descent down a hill before George pulled on a lever. The gained speed going down the hill but all of a sudden a feeling of swaying started and continued for a few seconds before it stabilized.

I looked out the window and surely we were flying through the still dark sky, farmland and meadows rolling beneath us. We made our journey, cutting across massive swathes of land and flying over hills. "This is so much different from flying on a broom." I commented as we glided across pastures and lone houses dotting the landscape.

We're a little way outside the village," said George. "Ottery St. Catchpole." Lower and lower went the flying car. The edge of a brilliant red sun was now gleaming through the trees. "Touchdown" said Fred as, with a slight bump, the car hit the ground. We had landed next to a tumbledown garage in a small yard, and I looked out for the first time at the Weasleys' abode- The Burrow. It was... eyecatching to say the least.

There were a few more floors added to the original stone structure, balancing precariously on each other. "It's not much." Ron commented sheepishly, feeling embarrassed. It was far more homely and welcoming than the Dursley house, "It's perfect." I grinned.

We slowly backed it inside the garage, careful not to make any sound, but it was a futile attempt. The front door of the house swung open forcefully and a short plump women with fiery red hair matching Ron and the twins came marching out. Mrs.Weasley coke to a stop before us, with her hands on her hips, looking furious and narrowing her eyes at the three red heads coming out of the garage.

"Mornin' Mum." Fred said waving his hand, and that blew her gasket.

"Have you any idea how worried I've been?" She began shaking her fist at the boys, "Beds empty! No note! Car gone- could have crashed- out of my mind with worry- did you care?- never, as long as I've lived- you wait until your father gets home, we never had trouble like this from Bill or Charlie or Percy-"

"Perfect Percy," muttered Fred in disdain at his snobbish elder brother.

"YOU COULD DO WITH TAKING A LEAF OUT OF PERCY'S BOOK!" yelled Mrs.Weasley, prodding a finger in Fred's chest. "You could have died, you could have been seen, you could have lost your father his job-" It seemed to go on for hours. Mrs. Weasley had shouted herself hoarse before she turned to me, her expression changed in an instant, "How have you been, Harry dear? Come come, let's us have some breakfast."

Fred, George and Ron looked perfectly outraged at the preferential treatment.
