Chapter 13 - [ Hammer Accomplished ]

"Sonica!!"

I immediately ran to her side as she fell on the grass, unconscious.

I started to panic, wondering what went wrong!

"I am sorry! Please, wake up!" I shook her shoulder with wide eyes. "Sonica!"

Just then, ice started to from the grass from underneath her and my eyes widened.

I didn't do this! What was happening?!

The ice spread all over the grass like a paint spilled over a blank canvas!

But how?! I-I didn't do-

Wait.. The ice.. it was coming from her!

"Sonica! Wake up!" I started to shake her shoulders more violently. "I am sorry- I am sorry- I am sorry- please open your eyes!"

Suddenly she gasped, gaining her consciousness. And I hugged her tightly, eyes still wide. "Whoa, you scared me!"

I quickly pulled away to examine her. "What happened?"

She grabbed her head and looked at me before looking at the ice on the gound. "I.. feel cold.."

Huh?

She then looked at me and rubbed her arms. "I feel cold.."

I anxiouly bit my lip and said, "Maybe you should go back insid-"

"S I V A Y !!"

Startled, we both turned around and saw... our leader!

Oh no!

"What's going on here?!" She shouted, marching towards me.

I looked down at the icy grass then at her. "I-I can explai-"

"We will talk about this tomorrow. 𝗔𝗳𝘁𝗲𝗿 the battle. So go to sleep. N O W!"

𝗦𝗢𝗡𝗜𝗖𝗔'𝗦 𝗣𝗢𝗩

Upon hearing the leader yell like, Sivay flinched and quickly picked up her mask. Then she gave me an apologetic look and quickly ran towards her shack.

But... it was my fault, Siv.

"..and YOU. No need to get close to any of us!" She scowled while pointing her index finger at me.

Uh.. f-

"Fine..." I whispered and she locked me back in the prison.

Then I sighed and looked at my friends who were sleeping and snoring. So I lied back down on my territory, facing the wall.

But I was feeling so chilly, as if . . . my nerves were getting frozen.

Can't believe I assumed that Sivay and the leader are male..

Wait-

I covered my mouth to hold back my laughter.

Don't laugh. Don't laugh.

Oh boy—

It means Sonic was jealous for no reason.

I will make sure to never let him know that Siv's a girl!

— Tᕼᗴ - ᑎᗴ᙭T - ᗰOᖇᑎIᑎᘜ —

Sonic, Knuckles and I were taken to a big battle field. After breakfast, of course.

It was a like a huge arena. But it was divided into three squares.

"Get ready." said the leader in a stern voice. "It's three vs one."

"What?!" We looked at her in surprise and confusion.

"Like.. we three vs one of your people, or..?" Sonic asked while scratching his head.

"Three of 𝘂𝘀 vs one of 𝘆𝗼𝘂. So there will be three battles." She leaned back on her throne.

"And the rules are : " The other tribe member spoke, "No one shall interfere in the battle, no matter how severely the competitors are injured, unless a winner is declared. Any attack, except stabbing, is allowed."

We nodded slowly, glancing at eachother.

Then we stood separately in each square. And we were given a sharp, stone-made spear. Really sharp.

Then in a queue, came nine of the tribe members, wearing the same designed mask. They also had sharp spears like ours.

With the leader's signal, they nodded as well and looked at eachother in pairs. And then...

"Rock, Paper Scissors!"

Sonic and my jaw dropped.

"Rock, Paper, Scissors!" They made it sound like a chanting.

Then they made Sonic, Knuckles and me play too.

Confused, we muttered "Rock, Paper.. Scissors..?" Then I made 'Scissors', Sonic made 'Paper' and Knuckles made 'Paper' as well.

"I.. win?"

Out of a sudden, two tribe members grabbed my arm and dragged me to the third square. There were three other members already standing, holding their spears.

What was going on—

Then Sonic and Knuckles were made to play again. This time Sonic did 'Rock' and Knuckles did 'Paper'

"Haha, I won!" Knuckles cheered but then he got dragged to the 2nd square, and Sonic was sent to the 1st square where three competitors were waiting for them each.

"What was that 'Rock, Paper, Scissors' thing?" I asked to one of my opponents.

They just shrugged.

"It's just a way to.. pick teams. Like the ones who chose 'Rock' will be battling in the 1st square. Like your blue friend and our people."

I turned to my side and realize that it was Sivay who said that.

I nodded as a 'Okay.'

Then she.. walked to the first square?!

Wait, she will be battling with Sonic?!

Oh boy..

𝗦𝗢𝗡𝗜𝗖'𝗦 𝗣𝗢𝗩

I tightened my grip on the spear as I watched Sonica and that tribe guy share a quick nod.

What were they talking about?!

Then I looked ahead at my opponents and look who decided to team up?

It was the same guy!

— Tᕼᗴᑎ Tᕼᗴ - 𝐁 𝐀 𝐓 𝐓 𝐋 𝐄 - ᗷᗴᘜᗩᑎ —

"Bring it on." I narrowed my eyes, getting in a stance.

"Play safe, guys!" Sonica suddenly spoke.

I and Knuckles nodded and looked back at our opponents.

Play safe.

Got it.

"Play safe. Don't hurt. And don't get hur—" She hissed while taking a step back as one of her opponents slashed the spear over her eye!

H O W D A R E Y O U ? ! !

"Sonica!!" I and Knuckles yelled, dropping our spears to run towards her but then she pushed her hand forward as a 'STOP'.

"Sonica—"

Oh no no no..

She thrusted the spear on the ground while covering her eye with her hand.

It was bleeding so much!

"Sonicaa!!" I gripped my quills, dying to rush over and help.

"Don't step out of the square or we will lose.." she said, slowly removing her hand.

Thank god her inner eye was fine! BUT STILL SHE WAS HURT!!

Then my opponent shouted, "Yeh! T'nod truh reh!"

(Hey! Don't hurt her!)

The other opponent shouted back, "Ereht era on selur ekil taht! THGIF!"

(There are no rules like that! FIGHT!)

I couldn't understand what they said but WHO CARES?!

MY SONICA WAS HURT!!

"Just. Play. Safe." She took a deep breath and picked her spear back.

Dammit. Being too caring isn't a red flag?

She then rotated her spear upside down and pointed the wooden part at her opponents. And I noticed that my opponent also did the same?!

What was going on between them?!

"Sivya!" the leader shouted, making him flinch and he then slowly pointed the sharp edge back at me.

"Don't hurt. And. Don't. Get. Hurt. " Sonica said with narrowing her eyes at her opponents and immediately went to attack!

I looked back at my opponents and quickly dodged their attacks but my third opponent was also looking at Sonica?!

"Focus on the battle!" I shouted, quickly tackling the other two down.

Meanwhile Knuckles was also using the spear upside down, like Sonica's. But. . . he was using it like a music/opera conductor does in theatres. And his opponents were struggling just by that! Whoa.

But Sonica was battling like a pro! She did well in Croc Rope, so she was doing better here! Maybe she got the roughest opponents among us. Her spear collided against her opponents'. You can imagine it as a sword fight!

Then I focused back on my battle and successfully hit my opponents a few times, dodging their attacks.

"A ehruuak!" I shouted while looking at my side, keeping my hand against my forehead, like umbrella for my eyes.

Then my opponents quickly followed my gaze and I used this opportunity to push them out of the square.

"Ha!" I smirked as they looked at eachother then at me, now defeated.

Of course, I didn't know their language. I just made up whatever I heard their accent sounded like.

Then I looked at my final opponent... whom the leader called 'Sivya'

I hate to admit but THAT was a cool name.

Then, I looked at Knuckles and he had already knocked all his opponents out.

Huh. Impressive.

Then I looked at Sonica and gasped! She had cuts on her cheek, abdomen, forearms and even hands! Why were her opponents like that?! She was bleeding so much!

But.. her gaze. It was so serious and determined, filled with a sort of flame. Dangerous yet calm. That girl is really something...

When I looked back at my one and only left opponent, I realized he was looking at Sonica too.

Ugh, she can't be yours, Sivay—

I immediately started attacking him with my spear and he dodged them swiftly. But I felt like he became a bit slower than before. But who cares?!

"Just lose already!" I gritted my teeth and went for another move.

Then he attacked me back but I dodged it. Our spears collided. "Haahh!!" I kept attacking him until he finally fell down and dropped his spear, his arm crossing the square's border!

Finally!

I looked at the leader while panting and after a pause, he raised his left hand towards me, declaring me the winner!

With relief, I dropped the spear and looked at Sonica.

She had one opponent left. They attacked eachother at the same time, dodged eachother's attack in the same way and collided their spears again.

After a few more attacks, he suddenly took a step back and kneeled down, breathing heavily.

Did he.. surrender?

I glanced at panting Sonica then at the leader, my heart pounding faster.

The leader slowly raised his left hand towards Sonica and—

"W E W O N ! ! !" Knuckles and I punched the air in victory. Then we immediately ran to Sonica as she dropped down on her knees, breathing heavily.

She was covered in cuts, scratches and blood. Then she chuckled in-between pants. "Hammer.."

Without a second thought, I immediately lifted her up but she got leaned against the tree for support. "Water.."

"Right—" I glanced around and quickly ran into one of the shacks, running back with a glass of water and gave it to her.

Then I felt someone tap my shoulder from behind and I turned around to see that it was Sivay!

He was holding the hammer.

So I immediately snatched it before looking away. "Thanks. This is ours."

He nodded and looked at Sonica. AGAIN. But soon he ran back to his leader as they seemed to be having a discussion.

"Sonica..We did it.." I whispered while wrapping one arm around her for support.

Then,she looked up at me and sighed, "I am not that hurt.. I can still walk."

"Shh.. Let me help.." My voice couldn't come more louder.

Her eye looked so badly hurt, as if she fought a beast.

"We finally won.. Thanks to you." I whispered while holding the hammer out to her.

She shook her head and lightly pushed the hammer back to me. "𝗪𝗲 did it together. Now go and give her the hammer"

"Nonsense. You look like the one who suffered the most, so you deserve to give it to her." I said, carefully wiping the blood off her cheek.

She shook her head slowly and mumbled while rubbing her arm, "Amy will be more happy if it's from 𝘆𝗼𝘂.."

Now my face got expressionless. I looked at the hammer and back at Sonica. "Wha—"

"S O N I C ! !" Amy suddenly hugged me very tightly, wrapping her arms around my neck. "You finally got my hammer back!!" She quickly took the hammer from me, and jumped up and down in joy. "Thank you! Thank you! Thank you!"

".. you're welcome. We did it together.." I murmured and looked at Sonica who had now turned away, covering her eye.

It made me sigh. I felt a heavy feeling in my chest and I don't know what it was.

"I missed you so so so so sooo much, my precious hammer!" Amy hugged her hammer like a baby.

"Finally Amy, you got your hammer." Tails walked over with Sticks.

Amy nodded, her smile was not gonna fade for a long time now.

"Finally. We were bored being stuck there!" Sticks said while putting her hands on her hips.

Then Tails looked at Sonica and tilted his head,"Sonica, Why are you turning that side?"

Uh oh..

Sonica hesitated a little and sighed, ".. don't freak out, alright?" Then she sighed and slowly turned towards us, her hand still covering her eye.

Amy, Tails and Sticks's eyes widened.

"What on earth happened to you?!"

"Who did this?!"

"I know I wished you for bad luck because I didn't trust you. But I never wished for this-!"

Wait- what?!

"STICKS?!"

"What? It's true I didn't trust her." She crossed her arms while turning to the side. "But I didn't wish this worse for her to happen!"

"It will heal, don't worry.." Sonica said while drinking some water.

I looked at her with concern.

Quit the act and say you are hurting!

"We need to get home quick! I haven't brought any first aid kits!!" Amy shouted, hurriedly.

They nodded, excluding Sonica.

"..alright. But let's not rush." She said, slowly sitting on the grass.

You are hurting, Sonica..

Why don't you let anyone help..?

𝗦𝗢𝗡𝗜𝗖𝗔'𝗦 𝗣𝗢𝗩

My injuries will heal in 24 hours, so I wasn't very worried about it.

"Anyone up for a snack?" I asked, leaning against the tree.

After glancing left and right, Knuckles slowly raised his hand.

I chuckled slightly but then hisses when I felt the cuts stretch.

Ouch. Didn't think it would hurt this bad.

Then in the next second— a missile came flying towards us! Towards me!

"Everyone move!" Sonic yelled as they all jumped to the side, but my reflexes were on vacation after the battle.

"SONICA!"

"Uh oh.." I stared at the missile, ready to use my fire element, if necessary. And then—

"S I V A Y ! ! ! COME BACK HERE!!"

Right before the missile could get any closer, Sonic quickly pulled me to the side and Sivay immediately froze the missile inside a huge mass of ice before it could destroy the forest!

"I am NOT leaving you again!" Sonic glared down at me and I looked at him, realising that I was in his arms.

Then Sivay crouched down to me and held my hand. "Ew deen ot taert ruoy sdnuow.." (We need to treat your wounds..)

I nodded but then Sonic slapped her hand away. "Don't touch her!"

Right.. I forgot he doesn't know Sivay is actually a girl.

"But who the (some funny word)! launched that missile?!" shouted Sticks, hands on her head.

"Oops! That would be. . . 𝗺𝗲."

Ugh..

"𝗘𝗴𝗴𝗺𝗮𝗻!"
