THIS CHAPTER CONTINUES THE THIRD-PERSON NARRATIVE OF THE PREVIOUS CHAPTER
As Zachary, Zander, and Zayden continued to follow the entity's orders, they heard a soft, shrill cackling that would, under normal circumstances, send chills through their spines. In their current states, however, they were incapable of hearing the sound. Then again, the sound was only issued in their minds, so no one else would have heard it either. Still, the malign presence was increasingly delighted by the advancement of their plans.
Once the clearing was ready, the three men were given another order. As one, they worked to follow the instructions.
"Ramos arbores. Patibula fac. Scenam para. Tempus adest." [1] The sinister voice, shrill and giddy with exuberance, spoke endlessly on a loop as they completed the next task. Over and over, it spoke the same words. "Ramos arbores. Patibula fac. Scenam para. Tempus adest."
