No, to be specific, it was her space telescope launched into lower orbit, turned to face toward the vast universe.
It was originally set to study the stars and planets around us, and figure out the "state" of part of the universe—at least.
But today, just before sunrise, instead of glowing stars, the telescope found a strange object.
A gigantic creature shaped like a long "worm."
It was coming from several thousand light-years away and moving toward Hargoth in a straight line.
It was seemingly heading toward us at speeds faster than light itself.
But upon closer inspection, rather than moving through space faster than light, it was instead advancing by warping itself forward—infinitesimally gradual—like a worm squirming through earth to move ahead.
That term "gradual" was relative to its size, of course.
That's how it was crossing light-years in seemingly just a few minutes.
